This was originally a Y-code 352 car owned by my stepdad that lost its motor, so he swapped in the complete running gear from a 1959 430 car, after having it properly rebuilt. It's now a 430 Special from radiator to rear axle, with a Heavy-Case Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed and re-worked valve body. The heavier suspension was re-sprung and transferred as well.
THE GOOD: It has an upjetted carb, new pistons and titanium valves from Egge Machine, and it revs without vibration - the motor is impressive. The body is very straight, there are almost no dings in it, and all of the locks work. The tires are good, Pirellis in front and Michelins in back, and it runs and drives great. I haven't owned it all that long, he worked on it on the weekends for years, but he's decided to restore his sailboat instead. The work done so far has been top notch.
THE BAD: Obviously there's some rust, but it's not horrible, and it's nowhere structural. It will need new floor and trunk pans soon, and it needs all new weather stripping and exterior rubber. The windshield has a small crack toward the passenger side, and the driver's window glass needs replacement. It has relatively new exhaust but I can hear a small leak somewhere. Fuel gauge float is bad, and the battery doesn't charge at idle. The instrument cluster stopped working soon after the swap and the car has been driven maybe 8,000 miles since then, and that's about what's on the motor. Column shift selector plate (PRND2L) is worn, and the external power brake vacuum reservoir leaks so we disconnected it - it feels like standard brakes. The seats are from another Ford which had headrests....
I DO HAVE: the original seats, radio, original fender skirts, a pair of brand new stamped rocker panels, new valve covers, an extra water pump, extra starter, generator, PS Pump, 5 wire wheel covers, extra belts, a car cover, and a couple of new chrome pieces, all of which come with the car.
CURRENT CONDITION: I drove it 7/11/13 and it was just fine. It runs great, regulates heat properly, and all fluids look like new.
I've tried to name every problem with the car so there are no surprises! It's great car with a lot of work in it that needs restoration.
I'd like to see it painted deep blue with mag wheels, but that's for someone else to do. I'm selling it because I don't have the time or the resources to finish it.
I'm happy to talk with you about the car whether or not you bid, so please feel free to contact me!
Reserve price is $2999 -- the motor and parts are worth that alone! I'd like a $300 deposit through paypal upon auction close, with the rest due in cash the following week.
This car is of course sold as-is, I'm not a dealer, and I didn't build it. It made a 70 mile trip with no problem earlier this year, and it is a fine machine that can burn rubber for miles.
Thanks for checking it out.

Top 11 Lego Technic cars to buy on Amazon in 2024
Mon, Jan 22 2024Autoblog may receive a share from purchases made via links on this page. Pricing and availability are subject to change. I recently got a birthday wish list from my 11-year-old nephew, and I couldn't help but smile when I saw “Lego Technic Cars” at the top. Lego isnÂ’t a phase, itÂ’s a lifestyle. Once a Lego fan, always a Lego fan. In fact, IÂ’d be willing to bet that many of you reading this right now have some kind of Lego vehicle in a box somewhere, or better yet, on display in your home. While theyÂ’re not necessarily cheap, getting into building Lego Technic vehicles doesnÂ’t have to bankrupt you, either, unless you go for the $400 Lamborghini right off the bat. Here are 11 of our favorite Lego Technic vehicles on Amazon, right now, ranging from an affordable $35 all the way up to $450. LEGO Technic Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Ages 9+ (544 Pieces) - $39.99 (20% off) One of my first and favorite model cars growing up was a first-gen Ford Mustang GT350, so this GT500 for under $40 is right up my alley. At 544 pieces and made for ages 9 and up, the GT500 is a considerable step up from Grave Digger but a great starter to a Technic collection nonetheless. It isnÂ’t the most accurate-looking vehicle in this list, but the AR app and the fact that it can drive make it a worthwhile purchase. $39.99 at Amazon LEGO Technic Formula E Porsche 99X Electric Ages 9+ (422 Pieces) - $49.99 Not a Ford fan? Not a problem. This Formula E Porsche 99X is the same price and better looking than the GT500. Even though there are 122 fewer pieces in this Porsche set, it has a level of detail seen in much more expensive Technic sets including numerous decals and a pull back motor. $49.99 at Amazon LEGO Technic Jeep Wrangler Ages 9+ (665 Pieces) - $54.99 This is the set I ended up going with for my nephew, not because I think it is the coolest, but because for the price, I think you get the most bang for your buck. 665 pieces is over 50% more than the comparatively priced Porsche 99X and it also scratches the nostalgia itch for me: The first-ever model vehicle I built was a yellow Jeep Wrangler Sahara. This Wrangler Rubicon has definitely had some aftermarket mods like the front winch, which makes it one of the coolest Technic sets under $60. $54.99 at Amazon LEGO Technic Monster Jam Grave Digger Ages 7+ (212 Pieces) - $34.16 If ever there was a gateway Lego Technic, this Grave Digger is it.
Ford Mustang GT Bi-Fuel CNG
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Highly intrigued, we recently visited a Southern California Gas Company office to check out several hybrid vehicles promising something new. Unlike more commonplace gasoline-electric hybrids, we were there to evaluate innovative gasoline-compressed natural gas (CNG) hybrids - yes, they run on unleaded gasoline and compressed natural gas. According to the experts on hand, this arrangement delivers extended range and reduced emissions while chipping in with lower operating costs than pure-gasoline vehicles. There are advantages over its gasoline-electric counterparts, as well.
The program is part of a three-way collaboration between The Carlab, a Southern California-based automotive consulting firm, Landi Renzo USA, a company specializing in alternative fuel solutions, and America's Natural Gas Alliance, a group that promotes CNG. Long story short, the team has engineered a way to allow a modified internal combustion vehicle to seamlessly switch between two fuels (gasoline and CNG) with no driver intervention. In theory, and if it works as well as promised, it's a win-win for the vehicle owner and the environment.
Parked at the Gas Company office were six different gasoline-CNG hybrid vehicles. To demonstrate the technology's versatility (just about any gasoline vehicle may be modified) Carlab brought a varied assortment of bodystyles, each from a different automaker. After taking a quick glance at the half-dozen in the parking lot, we made a beeline for the performance-oriented Ford Mustang GT - a 2012 model - with the six-speed manual gearbox.
Lincoln Nautilus, Ford Edge latest prediction: Production ends in July 2024
Thu, Aug 20 2020In June, Auto Forecast Solutions put out a report compiled by its vice president of global forecasting, Sam Fiorani. One item in the report covered how Fiorani had heard from "multiple sources" that Ford shut down the program to replace the Edge crossover in 2023. Assuming this came to pass, with the Lincoln Nautilus based on the Edge, the inference is that the Nautilus would retire at or around the same time. Ford's response to media queries about the report was either "No comment" or PR-speak deflection. Lincoln's statement on the matter to Motor1, a crafty non-answer, was, "The Nautilus plays and will continue to play an important role in Lincoln’s growing SUV portfolio which includes the Corsair, Aviator and Navigator. Lincoln is investing in growth segments like SUVs and we have no plans to exit the segment." It's possible Lincoln has no plans to leave the segment, but the Nautilus might, according to a fresh, unsourced report in Ford Authority. The site claims the Nautilus will end production at the Oakville Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada, in July 2024. Again, we can't know how much, if any of this, is true. But we're zeroing in on a timeline for the potential end of the Edge and Nautilus in the U.S. Those are the only two products Oakville currently builds, and when the Canadian union Unifor asked Ford about the reports in June, Ford couldn't offer union reps anything concrete or reassuring. The Detroit News quoted Unifor chief Jerry Dias as saying of the automaker, "There is no question, they are going through a major evaluation of their portfolio, based on a whole host of things."  We could be seeing one of the earlier theories for Edge's potential demise coming true. Some analysts suspect Ford could be pruning its crossover lineup because it has too many similarly-sized offerings at the moment, the Edge hasn't met its sales targets in Europe, and more compact crossovers are on the way that could bring better street cred if they're associated with the Bronco or Bronco Sport. Unifor and Ford are now in negotiations over a new contract, so it's possible we'll get more clarity in the next month or so about Ford's plans and what will come of Oakville and its roughly 4,000 workers. If Ford walks away from the assembly plant, it will only have two engine plants left in Canada, and no vehicle assembly north of the border for the first time in about a century.
