1958 Ford Fairlane Base on 2040-cars
Luray, Virginia, United States
I have for sale a 1958 Ford Fairlane. I bought this car just the way you see it. It was being built for the street as kind of an old school gasser. It has brand new wheels and tires. The wheel wells have been cut out on the rear to allow the entire wheel and tire to show. But it seems to be a good job. The front has been subramed with a chevy frame maybe from like a late sixties early seventies car. The frame work also seems to be good quality and very strong. It has all new power disc brakes ,rotors and calipers up front. Brand new aluminum radiator. The rear end I believe is just a stock 57 Ford rear it still needs brake work on rear. Has traction bars and new coilover shocks on rear. As for the paint its a driver quality does have some blemishes and a few small scratches but the car looks really good. the door jams and under the hood and trunk has been painted black. Most of the chrome has been rechromed and looks nice only two pieces I see need to be done. The car has all new glass and rubber and beltlines. Except for the rear windshield is a little scratched. It has all new custom gauges in the dash with a switchpanel. New ratchet shifter. I do not have the original seats to the car. Car does need interior work they were building it as a hot rod. Has a brand new fuel cell with fuel gauge. New Holley fuel pump filter and regulator. Car requires 500.00 immediate deposit after sale. The remaining balance must be cash in person, paypal or approved bank wire. I do have the car for sale and reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. If you have any questions feel free to call Aaron at Aaron's Auto Sales anytime at 540-244-5662 or 540-652-3220

Check out Ford's fully automated self-parking car [w/video]
Wed, 09 Oct 2013As automakers continue to find uses for autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicle technology, Ford of Europe has announced that it is developing a self-parking system for future use. More advanced than the Active Park Assist already offered in many Ford products, the new Fully Assisted Parking Aid can take full control of the vehicle and can navigate angled and perpendicular parking spots.
While today's Active Park Assist can only parallel park with the driver controlling the gas, brake and gear selection, Fully Assisted Parking Aid can operate steering, gas, brake and gear selection all while making sure the car is properly parked in the intended space. As with APA, the driver pushes a button to make the car look for a proper spot (at speeds of up to 18 miles per hour), and when an adequate space is located, the operator pushes another button (either inside the car or outside via remote control) for the car to park itself - the button must be pressed throughout the whole parking maneuver. Even though Ford says that the car can effect gear selections on its own, the system must still start from Neutral, and the automaker isn't saying whether the car can put itself into Park when done or put itself in Drive when the operator is ready to go.
Ford is also taking the opportunity to announce its new Obstacle Avoidance technology. This automated system is able to detect objects - including pedestrians - in the road, warn drivers of said objects and, if needed, stop and steer automatically to avoid hitting the obstacle. Both systems are still in the prototype phase, so there is no word as to when we could see either on a production vehicle.
Ford looks back on 50 years of the Mustang in Detroit
Tue, 14 Jan 2014Ford has something special sitting in its booth here at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. In fact, it brought two special somethings in the form of the Ford Mustang 1 Concept that first saw the light of day in 1962 and the very first production Mustang that rolled off the production line in 1964.
These classic creations are sharing floor space with the brand-new 2014 Mustang in honor of the pony car's 50th Anniversary. Since Ford's latest 'Stang already made its auto show debut (at a number of locations, including Los Angeles), we think it's pretty cool that the Blue Oval did something special for its home-town show.
Check out both the Mustang 1 Concept and first production 1964.5 Mustang above and below.
Ford's Simple Suit Makes You Feel Like A Drunk Driver
Tue, Mar 25 2014We've all heard about the dangers of drunk driving for practically our entire lives. Whether it's from PSAs on TV or lectures in school, no one can claim ignorance of drunk driving being extremely dangerous. However, that doesn't prevent some people from still doing it. Ford is trying to take the safety message directly to young drivers with a special suit that allows them to simulate driving under the influence. It is all part of Ford's Driving Skills for Life program that gives free driving education to young people. The program is meant to "train kids in skills they don't learn in driver's ed," said Kelli Felker, Ford Safety Communications Manager, to Autoblog. The drivers don a few items to impair their senses and make them off-balance to simulate having a few too many drinks and then go out on a closed course with an instructor to see the effects. Felker said that the suit is a new part of the program, and Ford just received the outfit in the US. It will be incorporated into the training here in the late spring or early summer. Scroll down to see the effect it has on drivers in Europe. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
