1996 VOLVO 850 SEDAN * 1 OWNER * WELL MAINTAINED *5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION *2.4 LITER 5 CYLINDER ENGINE *NO RESERVE *EXCELLENT VEHICLE* THANKS FOR LOOKING AT THIS LISTING. HERE WE HAVE A VERY CLEAN, WELL MAINTAINED ONE OWNER 1996 VOLVO 850 IT HAS A CLEAR AND CLEAN TITLE. ZERO ACCIDENTS BODY: PLEASE REFER TO THE PICTURES. THE BODY IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR AN 18 YEAR OLD CAR. THE HEAD LIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS ARE GOOD AND LOOK GREAT! INTERIOR: VEHICLE BELONGS TO A NON SMOKER. NO KIDS SEATS, FLOORS AND HEAD LINER ARE EXCELLENT. NONE OF THESE ARE NOT MISSING FABRIC, STAINED , HAVE HOLES OR SAGGING THE POWER WINDOWS AND LOCKS ALL WORK. THE CAR COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL KEYS AS WELL AS THE ORIGINAL BOOKS AND MANUALS, WITH SOME SERVICE STAMPS FROM THE DEALER. THE ENGINE RUNS EXCELLENT. THE OIL HAS BEEN CHANGED REGULARLY. IT IS DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE SOON. THIS IS A NON TURBO ENGINE. THE NON TURBO ENGINES ARE MUCH MORE RELIABLE. THE CLUTCH SHIFTS FINE. IT DOES NOT SLIP. ROUTINE, REGULAR MAINTENANCE WAS DONE TO THIS VEHICLE SO IT HANDLES, RUNS AND DRIVES BETTER THAN A VOLVO WITH HALF ITS MILEAGE THE POWER WINDOWS, POWER LOCKS ALL WORK WELL. THE CRUISE CONTROL WORKS WELL THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER HAS THE LEFT BULB OUT SO AT NIGHT YOU CANT SEE THE GAS GAUGE EASILY (THIS IS HONESTLY THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THE CAR- NOT TOO BAD FOR ITS AGE!) WE CAN HAVE SOMEONE REPLACE IT THEY SAID IT WILL COST $100 SO IF ITS A DEAL BREAKER WE CAN HAVE THIS TAKEN TO THE SHOP TO GET THAT FIXED. THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH. THE REST OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WORK WELL. THE TIRES HAVE ABOUT 8,000 MILES MAYBE LESS ON THEM. THE TIMING BELT WAS REPLACED IN 2/2012, AT ABOUT 171,000 MILES AS WAS THE SERPENTINE BELT THE CAR LEAKS NO FLUIDS. IF IT NEEDED ANYTHING, IT WAS PROMPTLY ATTENDED TO. IT WAS NOT NEGLECTED. WE HAVE PRIDE IN WHAT WE DRIVE. WE CURRENTLY HAVE TOO MANY CARS IN THE DRIVEWAY, SO UNFORTUNATELY THE OLD VOLVO 850s HAVE TO GO. WE TRIED A FEW OTHER VENUES TO SELL THE CAR BUT A FRIEND TOLD US TO POST ON EBAY BECAUSE ITS A SOUGHT AFTER VEHICLE. WE ALSO HAPPEN TO HAVE THE SAME CAR IN A WAGON TOO WITH ABOUT 130K WE MAY SELL AT A LATER TIME IF THIS SALE GOES WELL ONLINE...... THE CAR WAS NOT INVOLVED IN *ANY* ACCIDENTS THE TITLE IS 1 OWNER, FREE AND CLEAR, LIEN FREE TITLE IN HAND. VEHICLE WAS PAID FOR IN FULL WITH CASH AT THE DEALERSHIP. WE HOPE THIS CAR WILL GO TO ANOTHER FAMILY THAT WILL CONTINUE TO CARE FOR THIS CAR AS IT HAS BEEN SINCE 1995. THIS CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN CROSS COUNTRY AND WE HAVE NO HESITATIONS OR CONCERNS IF IT WERE TO BE DRIVEN ANYWHERE IN THE USA. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE SEND A MESSAGE AND LEAVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING! |

LOLVO Volvo V60 video leverages the power of cats on cars
Wed, 02 Jul 2014You know what we haven't posted in a long time? A very weird, car-related video. It's high time we address this failing.
As strange videos go, this one is truly bizarre. The two-minute clip focuses on the Volvo V60 R-Design, although you're not going to be learning anything about the car. Instead, you're going to be focused on the weird narrator (and the cat decals on the windows).
It's like someone taught the Swedish Chef to speak English, but with a ridiculous accent and a script that's been fed through Google Translate. The result is a weirdly cerebral voice speaking in a manner that borders on gibberish mixed with information about the car. We're particularly fond of, "In accordance with Volvo tradition... the car... is... of course... furnished, with an inside." "Floor bibs," in reference to the floor mats, was an office favorite, as well.
Volvo wants this car to be the Crown Vic of global police fleets
Mon, 18 Nov 2013It has been years since the last Ford Crown Victoria rolled off the assembly line, but these body-on-frame sedans are still the most recognizable police cars in the US. Volvo is making a strong push in hopes that its XC70 can attain the same level of success as a global police car. As it is, Volvo is a popular choice for police cars in its home country of Sweden, but its cars are also used in police fleets in the UK, Belgium and Switzerland.
With an upgraded chassis, Volvo is looking to attract agencies from around the globe, including the rest of Europe, Asia and even the Americas. Changes over a stock 2014 XC70 include a beefier suspension setup, and the automaker has also tested the police-spec version of the jacked-up wagon in just about all conditions it could encounter in Europe - from the high speeds of the German autobahn to the low traction of Sweden's snowy, winter roads. We doubt we'll see many, if any, of these Volvos policing the streets of the US, but if we do, we're sure it will be in New England, Colorado or North Carolina.
Volvo denies boss Jacoby is taking a run at Opel CEO post
Tue, 07 Aug 2012It seems that every news report that involves the name "Opel" is eventually followed by a report that says, "Uh, never mind." Executives fill positions, then they're gone, or they're supposed to fill positions but duck out before doing so, five-year product offensives turn into grabbing for life preservers, and turnaround plans are followed by... new turnaround plans. With the recent departure of Opel CEO Karl-Friedrich Stracke, Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri reported that Volvo CEO Stefan Jacoby topped the list of candidates to sit in Opel's very hot seat.
Volvo spokesman Stefan Elfstrom has piped up to say "Mr. Jacoby is fully occupied with running Volvo and has no plan for leaving his present job." Stranger things have happened, though, and who knows what the truth is, but we have to admit we'd be surprised if Jacoby jumped off the Volvo express - recently given an $11-billion boost by parent company Geely - to take his chances in the Opel maelstrom.
So Opel's search for a CEO continues. At least we have the Adam to look forward to.
