Here we have an old VW split window walk thru bus that should be restored. Its missing all the glass, most of the interior and the motor. What you see is what you get. Not a rust bucket like some out there for sale. The pedal pan has rust holes. The rear ps quarter has rust holes and so does the battery area. The pop top is not there. Frame and cargo floor is solid. Both rockers are solid as well.

Tanner Foust checks out his new VW Beetle GRC rally car

Racing driver and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust is a very busy guy. After all, he's competing in rounds of both Global Rallycross series and FIA World Rallycross Championship, not to mention his TV duties. However, we probably shouldn't feel too sorry for him, because his job puts him behind the wheel of some truly crazy machinery.
Case in point is his latest ride in Global Rallycross - the Volkswagen Beetle GRC. The German company claims that this all-wheel drive Bug makes around 540 horsepower from its 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and can shoot to 60 in under 2 seconds. Plus, if this video is any indication, this Volkswagen sounds like a machine gun when throwing revs at idle, and it can do some wonderfully easy four-wheel drifts.
Previously, Foust was driving a VW Polo for Andretti Autosport in GRC, but the team unveiled the look of the Beetle GRC at the Chicago Auto Show. Now, Foust is finally getting to show off his new office to the public, and like VW's tagline for the new car claims, it's way hotter than Herbie.

Volkswagen Cross Up! headed for production after Geneva reveal

The last time we saw the Volkswagen Cross Up!, it was sitting out in the snow in prototype form, but the next time we'll see this slightly more rugged version of the diminutive Up! hatchback will be when it makes its production debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Looking like a micro-crossover with its raised ground clearance and black cladding, the Cross Up! will be the fourth "Cross" model for VW (after the CrossPolo, CrossGolf and CrossTouran) when it goes on sale this summer in mainland Europe (UK sales remain up in the air and US sales are highly unlikely).
Overall, the styling of the production Cross Up! has stayed fairly true to the 2011 concept car, including the front and rear fascias that offer a more rugged look, stocky 16-inch wheels and roof rack side rails. Inside, this model will get unique interior enhancements such as "Cross Up!" sill plates and an instrument panel available in red, black or silver. Like the regular Up!, the Cross Up! is powered by a 74-horsepower, 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission, and it doesn't look like all-wheel drive will be part of the picture. Translogic checks out EV West, one of the world leaders in electric vehicle conversions. Host Jonathon Buckley interviews EV West owner Michael Bream and test drives a converted 1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. What drives EV West to electrify classic cars may surprise some. "We're not doing this because we're the hardcore environmentalists or we're trying to save the earth," says Bream. "If we can't at least double your horsepower and torque, we won't touch the car." In fact, EV West brings a race-tested performance pedigree to back up those boasts. The company competed in the electric class at Pikes Peak, has run through the desert at Baja, and in general has successfully proved that battery-electric vehicles can compete at a high level.
