UP FOR SALE IS A 2007 LAPIS BLUE METALLIC PORSCHE 911 TURBO, WITH A RICH SAND BEIGE INTERIOR. IT HAS THE 3.6 LITER V6 TURBO CHARGED ENGINE WITH 480 HP AND 460 LBS OF TORQUE WHICH EQUALS A NICE 0-60 TIME OF 3.3 SECONDS! THIS ICONIC CAR COMES STANDARD WITH LEATHER INTERIOR, PLUSH CARPET, POWER MOON ROOF,  POWER WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCKS, CRUISE CONTROL AND TILT STEERING WHEEL AS WELL AS A 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH IT HAS SOME NICE PERKS SUCH AS NAVIGATION, XENON HEADLIGHTS, HEATED SEATS, THE MODULE FOR HANDS FREE TELEPHONE, REMOTE CD CHANGER, AND A 3M INVISIBLE BRA TO PROTECT THE FRONT END FROM CHIPS AND BUG DAMAGE WAS ADDED. THIS COLOR IS VERY RARE AS IT WAS A $2380 OPTION, AND HAVE RECEIVED NOTHING BUT COMPLIMENTS ON IT, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE SUN HITS THE METALLIC IN THE PAINT.

THIS CAR WAS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED IN TEXAS AND WAS PURCHASED FROM AN OWNER THERE AND BROUGHT TO FLORIDA. THE CURRENT OWNER PURCHASED THE CAR WITH ABOUT 30K ON IT ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO. THE CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED PRIMARILY AT REEVES IMPORT MOTORCARS IN TAMPA. WE HAVE THE RECORDS FROM PORSCHE OF NORTH HUSTON WHERE THE CAR CAME FROM. RECENT MAINTENANCE INCLUDES: NEW BATTERY, STARTER, 2 REAR TIRES (MICHELINS), THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED AT 38K AS IT APPEARED TO NOT SHIFT AS SMOOTHLY AS THIS PERFORMANCE CAR SHOULD (WHICH DID CURE THE PROBLEM).

MECHANICALLY, THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT, NO PROBLEMS DETECTED AS IT WAS JUST INSPECTED BY A PORSCHE MECHANIC THAT DID THE WORK ABOVE.  COSMETICALLY ONLY MINOR FLAWS, THE BIGGEST IS THE DRIVERSIDE HEADLIGHT WASHER IS PUSHED BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE BUMPER-NOT SURE HOW THIS HAPPENED. THE ONLY WAY TO REPAIR IS TO TAKE OUT THE HEADLIGHT TO GET TO IT TO PUSH IT BACK IN PLACE. THE BOTTOM OF THE FRONT BUMPER HAS A TRIM PIECE THAT IS SCUFFED WHICH IS NORMAL AS THE CAR RIDES VERY LOW. THERE IS A VERY MINOR DING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. NO NOTICEABLE SCRATCHES OR CHIPS THAT I CAN SEE (BUT LETS ASSUME THERE ARE 1 OR 2 THAT I DIDN'T NOTICE FOR SAKE OF ARGUMENT) THE INTERIOR IS VERY NICE WITH THE LEATHER AND CARPET SHOWING NO WEAR. THERE ARE VERY MINOR SCUFFS ON THE DOOR/KICK PANEL FROM GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE CAR. THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE AND STEERING WHEEL HAVE MINOR WEAR. THE A/C FAN SWITCH HAS THE SILVER PAINT WEARING OFF WHICH UNFORTUNATELY IS PRETTY COMMON FOR THESE CARS

THIS CAR CAN BE SEEN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY AND CAN BE INSPECTED BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. IT CURRENTLY DOES HAVE A PARTIAL LOAN ON IT AT A LOCAL BANK. FINANCING IS AVAILABLE AT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP THAT A FRIEND MANAGES. IT IS BEING SOLD BECAUSE IT IS A 3RD VEHICLE THAT ISN'T BEING USED ENOUGH. A $500 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS DUE UPON EBAY PURCHASE. YOU CAN FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR CALL TO COME SEE IN PERSON 352-238-1985

Porsche working on turbo V12 for Putin limo project?

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Porsche is best known for building very well-regarded sports cars and better-selling utility vehicles. Come to the company with a big enough bag of cash, though, and the Porsche Engineering division can create just about anything. The group's past projects include working with Harley-Davidson, Mercedes-Benz and corporate cousin Audi, but if rumors prove true, then its latest partner might be the last one you'd expect.
Russian website Wroom reports that Porsche Engineering is building the engine for the Project Cortege government limousine project for Russian president Vladimir Putin. The mill is supposedly a turbocharged V12 displacing between 6.0- and 6.6-liters and making around 800 horsepower. When complete, it will reportedly be built by ZMZ with Russian-sourced parts.
The limo is expected to debut in 2017, according to Wroom, but it's just the beginning of Putin's grandiose plans, which also goes by the name of the Motorcade Project. The same platform is also meant to underpin several vehicles for use by the government, including an SUV, a small bus and a sedan. All of them would reportedly have a longitudinally mounted engine and all-wheel drive.

Motor Trend hits Laguna Seca with Ferrari F12, Chevy Corvette, Porsche 911

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

According to the crew at Motor Trend, we should think of the video below "as an addendum to Best Driver's Car," a test the magazine put together that elevated the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S above all others in the category of driving joy. It seems the brand-new 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray wasn't able to take part in the magazine's official test, and neither was the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
And so Motor Trend did the only logical thing: It procured both the 'Vette and Prancing Horse as soon as it could, and put them both on track with the Driver's Car-winning 911. Of course, these cars don't actually compete against each other - the Ferrari offers up 731 horsepower and wears an asking price of $434,144 as tested, which means you could buy four loaded Corvettes for the price of one F12, and still have money left for a garage to store them in - but that's not the point of this particular test.
The point of this test isn't to listen to the beautiful sounds coming from the Porsche's flat-six-cylinder, the Corvette's pushrod V8 or the Ferrari's luscious V12, either, but the video below is worth watching for those three reasons alone. You know what to do.

Porsche still deciding on one or two new 911 plug-in hybrids

Tue, May 29 2018

Back in March, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume told Autocar that the coming Porsche 911 plug-in hybrid "will be the most powerful 911 we've ever had." That quote portended a 992-series 911 with 700 horsepower or more. A new report in Auto Express, however, suggests Porsche is having energetic debates about just what the 911's hybrid strategy will be, and that the only agreed-upon plug-in hybrid 911 so far is a milder version to sit in the middle of the range. Putting all our rumors in a row, in January, Automobile reported on an electrically-assisted 911 with 485 hp and 561 pound-feet of torque. The new AE piece effectively endorses that, saying the mid-range hybrid would follow the program established by the all-wheel drive Cayenne e-Hybrid that produces a combined 455 hp and 516 lb-ft. The 911 would naturally use a flat-six instead of the Cayenne's 3.0-liter V6, and the sports car would be tuned for better sound response and sharper reflexes. AE says fuel economy for this hybrid should be at least 80 eMPG, with emissions of less than 80 grams per kilometer. The current base Carrera is currently rated at a maximum 38.2 mpg in the UK, with minimum emissions of 169 g/km. The hybrid, fitted with a double-clutch gearbox and Porsche's mechanical all-wheel-drive system, could run from a stop to 62 miles per hour in less than four seconds, making it more efficient than a base Carrera and much faster than a Carrera 4S. AE says there remains only "the potential for Porsche to add a second, more powerful hybrid 911," and says its sources claim that's what's "causing the most consternation behind closed doors." This one would be the twin-turbocharged, 700-hp beastie that, as a series production car, would have a hard time not usurping the 540-hp Turbo, 580-hp Turbo S, and 607-hp Turbo S Exclusive. True, the hybrid would be handicapped with a 550-pound battery pack, but the instant acceleration and handling benefits of electric AWD — with no connection between the axles — could provide the final edge over the other three. As such, it makes sense that there'd be a whole lot of debate about a flagship 911 hybrid. On the other hand, such a monster seems like an eventuality in view of Porsche's electrified aspirations, the lessons gained from the 918 Hybrid and the 919 Hybrid Le Mans racer, and the fact that CEO Blume has already spoken. The Stuttgart carmaker expects a sales mix of 25 percent electric, 25 percent hybrid, and 50 percent conventional powertrains by 2025.
