1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Gst Convertible 2-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Nitro, West Virginia, United States
For sale is a car that has been great to me for 10 years now. This has been the most dependable car I have ever owned! Besides the regular maintenance (oil, belts, timing chains) this car has never even seen a garage! I'm selling her because I haven't driven it in over a year and she deserves to go to someone that will unleash her on a country road with the top down. Upgrades include full 3" exhaust all the way back. Custom gauge pod. Touch Screen Pioneer DVD player with USB port. New clutch with less than 500 miles. M3 mirrors. Tinted Halo Headlights. Blacked out Tail Lights. Counter Weighted Gear Shift (Makes shifting a dream!) If you are looking for a fun car that will not only get you there, but get you back as well, look no farther! She has the normal dents and dings for a '97 and could really use a good detail and scrub, but her paint is original with no clear coat damage. Some TLC would really make this thing perfect. Some things that will need taken care of are... top has a rip and needs replaced, speaking of top something is going on with it where it goes up and down with the power button but it needs manually flipped down, I took it out the other day and I think the head gasket is leaking oil when you accelerate hard. Clutch Master Cylinder seems to have a leak because when I checked clutch fluid it was low. All small stuff that comes with a car of this age. She still runs AMAZING. Acceleration is phenomenal. The 4G63 engine is world renowned from serving in EVO's and SRT's as well as our GST's. The exhaust gives it a low rumble. I put a silencer in the tip to keep it from being too loud, but take it out and get ready to rumble the neighborhood! I made sure it doesn't sound like a Honda bumble bee... this thing rumbles. Please let me know any questions you have. I have tried to explain any and all problems she has so you will have no surprises. Buyer is responsible for shipping or pick-up I will help anyway I can so just let me know if you have any special requests. Thanks again and bid with confidence because for the money you WILL NOT find a better car than this! |

Mitsubishi bringing Emirai 3 to Tokyo?
Fri, Oct 23 2015Inquiring minds really want to know if the W-shaped steering wheel will return on Mitsubishi's newest iteration of the Emirai electric concept vehicle. The Japanese automaker is slated to show off the third variant of this interesting concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show at the end of the month, according to Technologic Vehicles. Beyond the facts that the car is a two-seater and runs on electric power, we don't have many details to share just yet. One specific item we do know, though, is that concept will once again offer close monitoring of the driver's physical state. In this case, the car is said to use cloud-based data to gauge the driver's physical condition, so the concept goes well beyond the types of sensors we see in other vehicles that offer features like collision avoidance and lane maintenance. The car is also missing doors, which doesn't necessary help the driver's physical state but is still pretty cool-looking. The model could see the light of day – and limited production – by the end of the decade. Two years ago, Mitsubishi brought its Emirai 2 concept car to Tokyo. That super-futuristic vehicle included a biometrics feature that adjusted the driver's seat based on the user's facial temperature and heart rate. It also had a W-shaped steering wheel straight out of a Superfriends cartoon. Mitsubishi was an early entrant in the electric-vehicle sector with its i-MiEV, though that model has been selling in the single-digit figures in recent months. Now that we have a few year's worth of hindsight, the i's jellybean shape looks pretty pedestrian compared to the Emirai. News Source: Technologic Vehicles Green Tokyo Motor Show Mitsubishi Electric
Mitsubishi bringing SUV 'Legend' to the Chicago Auto Show
Thu, Jan 22 2015Mitsubishi claims that "a legend" is returning to its ranks at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show in February. Its save-the-date to the Windy City event just depicts an indistinguishable crossover sitting on top of a sand dune as the only hint of what the Japanese brand has in store. However, according to company spokesperson Alex Fedorak this isn't an entirely new vehicle. Mitsubishi is giving the GC-PHEV concept (pictured below) its North American debut, after originally unveiling it at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. While it's purely a concept, the vehicle is "a designer's rendering of what a new Montero could look like," said Fedorak to Autoblog. While Mitsu is not committing to putting the chunky CUV into production yet, the press conference is going to "talk about what role if any it plays in our future," he said.
Mitsubishi confirms pair of MiEV Evolution II electric racecars for Pikes Peak
Fri, 17 May 2013Preparing for next month's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Mitsubishi - the presenting sponsor of this year's PPIHC - has unveiled its entrant for the race: the all-electric MiEV Evolution II. Building off last year's MiEV-inspired entrant, the Evolution II has received numerous improvements, including a more powerful electric drive system, a lower center of gravity and even a more traditional racecar look. Driving a pair of MiEV Evolution II models this year will be Hiroshi Masuoka from Mitsubishi vehicle development and six-time PPIHC motorcycle winner, Greg Tracy.
Both MiEV Evolution II racers employ a quartet of electric motors (last year's car used just three), and output has been increased from 280 kilowatts (375 horsepower) up to 400 KW (536 hp). For improved handling, the cars' lithium-ion battery packs help provide lower centers of gravity, and both Masuoka's and Tracy's cars have received active yaw control, stability control and redesigned anti-lock braking systems. Hopefully, this will help them stick to the mountain better. As previously mentioned, even their look has changed, with less of a wide-body i-MiEV feel and more of a racecar appearance. We think the finished product would actually make for a pretty cool Le Mans Prototype racer, or perhaps an electrically powered rival for trackday cars like those from Radical.
