SELLER REMARKS |
|
There's no denying the fun and versatility that a Jeep offers. This 1977 Jeep CJ7 represents the best of the classic "old school" CJs, and combines the rugged good looks of the traditional off-roader with daily driver friendliness that includes a desirable hardtop.
You recognize them from a quarter-mile away with their cheerful round headlights and 7-slot grille, a look so iconic that the latest Wranglers still play off the classic styling. Jeep enthusiasts wave to each other the way motorcyclists do, and as any of them will tell you, owning a CJ like this is a lifestyle, not mere transportation. Finished in a desert-like, beige finish and topped with great looking 'Renegade' graphics, it's a color combo that fits well with this 4x4. The paint is in great condition with a shine that's just right. It looks great when you take it to work on sunny days, but on weekends you can still take it out and get it dirty without guilt. There is a solid hard top to keep you dry if you want to take it out on a rainy day, and a bimini top to keep you in the shade on the hot, sunny ones. And if you do take it out in the brush, you'll appreciate the burly front bumper with grille guard, fog lamps, and Ramsey REP8000 winch ready for duty.
Inside, the Jeep is basic, but that also means that it's virtually indestructible. Have some fun with the top and doors off, then hose it out, that's the name of the game. The seat covers look new and fit well, while the floor has been covered in spray-on bedliner material that will last practically forever. The controls are laid out in typical Jeep fashion, with a big, 3-spoke steering wheel, long-throw shifter for the 3-speed, and gauges clustered in the center of the dash. An AM/FM radio is mounted below those gauges, while steel doors and a fiberglass hardtop mean that it seals up tightly enough to be driven all winter.
Power comes from modest 304 cubic inch V8 topped with a 2-barrel carburetor. While it isn't a huge horsepower factory, its sound and torque will impress. A trusty four-wheel drive system makes this Jeep what it is, and long tube headers send exhaust gasses to a cool, side-exit exhaust system. Power steering and power brakes help maintain control for those wicked trails. With 31x11.50 BF Goodrich All-Terrains digging into those trails wrapping stylish black steel wheels with locking Warn hubs up front, you will enjoy its aggressiveness.
Tradition is alive and well for Jeep fans, and the CJ7 holds a very special place in the off-roading hall of fame. They have personality, rugged looks, and everyday fun that makes them a popular choice among 4x4 fans. Call today!

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles already previewed its 2014 SEMA show lineup with some slick renders. Now, the automaker has finally showed us the actual cars, and among the group there are definitely some that stand out more than others.
Dodge is really showing off its muscle at this year's show with four concepts that all pump up the power of the brand's models. Perhaps most interesting among them is the Challenger T/A Concept (pictured above) in striking Sublime Green and matte black. It's meant to resemble the classic Trans Am racer from the '70s. Under the hood is a 6.4-liter V8, and to fit the vintage style there's a pistol-grip gearshift inside.
The Charger R/T also gets some attention with the Mopar concept that shows off what FCA's aftermarket performance arm can do. Mods include an updated body kit, cold-air intake for the 5.7-liter V8 and a coil-over suspension kit. Beyond that, the Dart R/T Concept looks a lot meaner with a black hood with duct work that leads straight to the air intake. The rest of the compact sedan is dolled up in O-So-Orange paint and is fitted with upgrades to improve handling like a coil-over suspension and big brake kit from the Mopar catalog.

The joint development of the new Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X goes to show what the combined efforts of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group can yield. But don't expect the Italian-American automaker to stop there. According to Autocar, the company is planning to base another pair of larger SUVs on the same platform. The Jeep version would take the place of the previous Compass and Patriot, slotting in between the Renegade and Cherokee. Meanwhile, the Fiat version would further bolster the Cinquecento lineup to sit alongside the 500 hatchback, 500L minivan and 500X crossover. Details remain few and far between at the moment, but they wouldn't be the extent of the growth plans for either brand. Jeep is reportedly zeroing in on a decision on the long-rumored sub-Renegade model, while also preparing to expand up-market with the return of the Grand Wagoneer. Fiat is reportedly abandoning the prospect of offering a full model line as it once did. While the 500 range will continue to form a vital part of the brand's business, it's also tipped to be going after the no-frills, bare-bones market dominated by Renault's Dacia brand. To that end, it would seek to build upon the Panda by offering a larger, but still low-cost hatchback to rival the Ford Focus and VW Golf, and succeed the discontinued Fiat Bravo, but based on the 500L's platform and built in Turkey to keep costs down. This second pillar of the Fiat brand wouldn't likely be offered in the US, however, where we'd expect the 500 line to continue representing the Italian automaker. Related Video:
