This is my 1966 Ford Falcon Sports Coupe- Custom 428 Cobra Jet, Shelby tribute car! Pro built for the SEMA Hotrod & Restoration Show with no expenses spared. This car is one of a kind and a blast to drive!. It was also a class winner at the Horsepower & Hotrods Expo 3/13.

The real 428 Cobra Jet FE engine is freshly rebuilt with all new parts. It has a heavy duty C6 transmission tied to a 9" Ford rear end. The car was rust free before being completely stripped down and hand massaged to make it show car flat. We added a 1966 Shelby GT hood, side scoops, and rear lip spoiler. The car was sprayed with custom pearl blue base, pearl white Lemans stripes, and two gallons of clear applied. We color sanded and buffed the entire car to a brilliant "glass" smooth finish.

The interior is black and finished just like it was in 1966...clean, crisp and beautiful. The car rides on new BFG directional tires and fully polished 16" American Racing, torque thrust wheels. Everywhere you look, you see a well-detailed build. It is as clean on the bottom as it is on top. This is what Carroll Shelby would have built if he had a Falcon!

Car is sold as-is, where-is. No warranty. Please do not bid if you do not have the money, I invite you come look the car over before bidding. I would consider partial trades for a muscle car project, old convertible, or nice HD bike. Successful winning bidder must make a $1000 non refundable deposit with in 24 hours via PayPal. Remaining balance in certified US funds with in 7 days of auction. Car must be removed from my shop within 14 days.

Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!!!

Ford says C-Max mpg reduction has hurt sales

Tue, 22 Apr 2014

The Ford C-Max is having a rough time. Sales for the five-door hybrid hatchback were down 39.1 percent in March to 2,295 cars, and sales from January through March were down 42.5 percent to 5,566 units. In an interview with The Detroit News, Ford Americas boss Joe Hinrichs places the blame on lowering the model's fuel economy rating.
"We're definitely seeing consideration on C-Max decline over time. We need to reinvest in the product because it's a great car," said Hinrichs to The Detroit News.
The company was hit with bad publicity over the C-Max when owners in multiple states filed class action lawsuits that alleged the cars weren't able to meet the stated fuel economy. Ford eventually re-rated the model from 47 miles per gallon city, highway and combined to 40 mpg city, 45 mpg highway and 43 mpg combined. To soften the blow of the change, the automaker sent checks to the owners to make up some of the difference. Initially, Ford claimed that demand remained strong for the hybrid. However, the latest sales figures and Hinrichs' statement seem to show the opposite.

NHTSA opens investigation into Ford Explorer PI brakes

Wed, 27 Aug 2014

This year more than most, it's pleasant when we can string together a few days without word of an automaker or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announcing a bunch of new recalls. It's seemingly been a little quiet on this front lately (barring a spider-related Suzuki issue revealed early today), but now we have word of the government safety agency opening a Preliminary Evaluation into the 2013 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor, a probe that could potentially affect an estimated 20,000 vehicles.
The issue being investigated concerns failures of the front brake hose on the vehicle that show "small splits in the hoses near the body side ferrule of the hose assembly," according to the agency, and the issue could result in longer stopping distances. The feds have reports of 13 malfunctions affecting 11 Explorer units. However, it's important to note that all of the incidents come from a single, unnamed metropolitan police fleet that operates 46 of them. According to The Detroit News, the failures generally took place between December and July.
NHTSA is investigating further to find if this is a more widespread issue than just this one fleet. Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker confirmed to us, "We are cooperating with NHTSA on this investigation, as we always do." Scroll down to read the agency's report.

Obama to herald auto industry turnaround from idled Ford plant

Tue, Jan 6 2015

President Barack Obama will tout the recent successes of the American auto industry in a speech on Wednesday. This would be a fine and dandy plan aside from two small hitches. First, the president is visiting Ford's Wayne, MI factory, which is rather strange considering the government bailed out the company's local rivals, Chrysler and General Motors. Even more worrying, considering the topic of the speech, is that the Wayne facility has been idled due to a lack of demand. According to The Detroit News, the White House said the speech will focus on "the workers in the resurgent American automotive and manufacturing sector now that the auto rescue has been completed and the decision to save the auto industry and the over one million jobs that went with it." Wayne Assembly employs some 5,100 Michiganders when its lines are up and running, but as gas prices have plunged below $2 per gallon in some areas over the past month, its fuel-efficient products – the Focus and C-Max – have seen their sales plummet, as well. In December, the Focus' year-over-year sales were down 4.4 percent, while the C-Max dipped 3.3 percent, Ford told The News. Lagging sales for the two compacts aren't a new thing, though. Focus sales in all of 2014 were down 6.4 percent, while the C-Max struggled with a 21.6-percent drop last year. According to The News, Ford made the decision to idle the factory before being approached by the White House. Considering that, we wonder what the team at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue was thinking when it selected the Ford facility, and what impact the location will have on the president's message.
