1953 Ford F100 Rat Rod on 2040-cars
Irvine, California, United States
This vehicle is sold as-is and there is absolutely no warranty expressed or implied.
I am offering my 1953 Ford F100 Rat Rod. This vehicle is custom from the ground up but is by no means a "show truck". Frame: 1990 Chevy S-10 Cab: 1953 Ford F100 Bed: 1955 Chevrolet Interior: Custom Motor: 4.6L Chevrolet Transmission: 3 Speed Auto You may have seen this vehicle on eBay before as I purchased it about three months ago from another seller. Since then I have lightly overhauled the vehicle. New Windshield New Exterior Weather stripping New Spark plugs New Oil & Filter New Seat Belts Rebuilt and balanced driveshaft from Drivelines, Inc. Re-alligned doors/striker plates Rebuilt carburetor Modified seat (I am 6'5" and fit comfortably) Modified pedals Stripped all exterior wood, sanded, cleared, reinstalled. New Spray in bed liner Re-worked all gauges to have them working properly. I thought I was going to keep this thing forever but things change and it's time to let her go to a new home. Please note, if you want something with a perfect body that can be painted, this is not the one. This truck is the way it is and it would cost $30,000 in body work to be able to lay a nice paint job on this. If you don't like patina this truck isn't for you. The truck looks as old as it is but drives like a newer car. It does have power steering. Serious inquiries only! No tire kickers and no test drives without cash in hand. |

Lincoln MKC will be renamed the Corsair in 2021, probably
Mon, Jun 18 2018Lincoln will be renaming its MKC crossover, calling it the Corsair instead. Automotive News is reporting that the recently trademarked, yet storied Ford model name Corsair will be affixed on the 2021 model year crossover. The report says Ford has already told its U.S. dealers about the name at an Orlando meeting last month. Ford has a long history with the Corsair nameplate in the States and abroad: Most recently, it has been in use in Australia in the early 1990s, in the UK in the 1960s, and before that Ford offered an Edsel Corsair in the late 1950s. Even if an Edsel connection might not be the best possible thing for a Ford product, let alone a Lincoln, it might serve the crossover well as Ford moves to ditch the MK naming convention it's used for Lincoln for the past decade. Still, the manufacturer is said to have cautioned dealers it might opt out of using the Corsair name before production time. At the same meeting, Ford reportedly showed the next-generation Escape, the Explorer, a battery electric crossover dubbed the Mach 1, a yet-unnamed small SUV (which might be the Bronco) , and a new Lincoln Continental complete with suicide doors. The MKC will still receive a refresh for next year, retaining its letters-name for a couple of years before the bigger redesign for 2021. Currently, the MKC is the strongest-selling Lincoln product in China, and it brings in numerous new Lincoln customers there. In the U.S. it's outsold by the MKX crossover and is neck-and-neck with the MKZ sedan.

Ford spotted testing new Focus RS at the Nurburgring
Thu, 26 Jun 2014Ford is expected to be launching a revised version of the Focus ST soon, but the latest snapshots from our spy photographers at the Nürburgring suggest that the Blue Oval is already working on an even more potent example: the new Focus RS.
Though the partially disguised test mule is wearing an ST badge (along with a Dewey sticker that makes us wonder what adventures Huey and Louie are up to and what manner of duck-tail rear spoiler they may be wearing), there are several tell-tale signs that something else is afoot here. There's a larger front air dam, bigger brake calipers, dual exhaust tips (instead of the central exhaust on the ST) and a reshaped wing protruding from the trailing edge of the roof.
That may all be well and fine, but what's under the hood? We don't know yet for sure, but word has it that Ford is preparing to port over the 2.3-liter turbo four offered in the new Mustang, where it packs 305 horsepower and almost as much torque - potentially retuned to produce even more for the top-of-the-line Focus, which could channel it all to the front wheels like the last model or pack an all-wheel drive system. The Global C platform on which the Focus is based does, after all, also underpin AWD models like the Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC.
