1986 Ferrari Mondial Cabriolet on 2040-cars
Gilbert, Minnesota, United States
For more details email me at: hipolitohrroytek@ukboss.com .
For sale is my 1986 Ferrari Mondial 3.2. Red on tan leather. The car has about 21,500 original miles. I purchased
it a year ago from a noted collector in the Pittsburgh area. His personal mechanic maintained it very well, along
with the rest of his phenomenal collection. I have maintenance records from his years of ownership and mine. I love
the car, but I am selling it to make room for another Ferrari in my limited garage space.
Mechanicals. The car is mechanically excellent. The engine starts easily every time. It runs very strongly and revs
smoothly. Excellent compression (as tested last fall -- those are the photos with the spark leads detached. Note
how clean the engine is. That is its natural state. It does not use or leak oil.)
The transmission is perfect. It slots into all gears (including first-to-second) whether warm or cold. The belt
service is current and has had only a few thousand miles. The brakes are excellent. The suspension is good and not
squeaky. I am aware of no current mechanical issues.
Wheels and Tires. The car comes with two complete sets of wheels and tires -- the original metric set (for shows,
with factory original tires) and a second set (which I run on the car, with easier-to-source tires). Both are
Ferrari Mondial OEM wheels (the non-metrics are from a later year). The wheels are in excellent condition. If I
were to keep the car, I would consider replacing the daily-use tires in the spring.
Body. The body is in excellent condition. I believe the paint work is all original, and it is in fine condition.
There are two or three miniscule door dings on the sides of the body, visible on close inspection in bright light.
I assume these are from car doors in parking lots (all predate my ownership). There are some rock chips on the
front of the car. Otherwise, the paint is excellent. It is very beautiful and deep. There is no rust whatsoever.
There are no scratches.
Cabriolet Top. The top is in very good condition. No rips or wrinkles on the exterior, and the fabric is taut. It
opens and closes easily. The rear window is very slightly yellowed, but you can see through it easily. The inside
of the top has light wear at a few points where the beige fabric contacts the mechanical apparatus. It closes well.
I have the original cover for the top as well as an aftermarket leather top (both fit well, but the original covers
are very costly, so I do not use it). The rubber weather stripping between the front and rear windows (which are
designed to bend when the top goes up and down) are partially perished. They could use replacement.
Interior. The interior is in excellent condition, with no rips, tears, stains, or anything else. The leather has
almost no signs of wear. The carpet is very good.
Dash and Electrics. Everything works. All the buttons, lights, and signals work well. The windows go up and down
easily, although the rear windows are a bit slow and could do with re-lubrication. The air conditioning--a known
problem on these cars--works well in this vehicle. I have the CD player that came with the car (a Denon unit that
does not function). I replaced it recently with a nice Kenwood unit with Blue tooth, etc, which works well. The
radio antenna works well, although it makes some noise and could probably do with lubrication.
Accessories. I have the original leather binder with the original manual. I have both original sets of folding
keys. I have the original leather key fob that came with the car new (although it is not in perfect condition). I
have the original jack bag with all accessories (including the little canister with some original fuses and light
bulbs). I do not have the original tool roll. They can be sourced online.
Pre-Purchase Inspections.

Stellantis and LG launch joint venture for North American battery plant
Mon, Oct 18 2021Stellantis has struck a preliminary deal with battery maker LG Energy Solution (LGES) to produce battery cells and modules for North America, as the world's No. 4 automaker rolls out its 30 billion euro ($35 billion) electrification plan. Global automakers are investing billions of euros to accelerate a transition to low-emission mobility and prepare for a progressive phase-out of internal combustion engines. Stellantis and LGES's joint venture will produce battery cells and modules at a new facility with an annual capacity of 40 gigawatt hours (GWh), the two firms said on Monday. No financial details of the deal were provided. The plant is scheduled to start production by the first quarter of 2024, with groundbreaking expected in the second quarter of 2022, the companies said in their statement. Its location is under review and will be announced later. Stellantis, formed in January from the merger of Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA, has said it wants to secure more than 130 GWh of global battery capacity by 2025 and more than 260 GWh by 2030. The batteries produced under the deal will supply Stellantis' U.S., Canadian and Mexican assembly plants for installation in hybrid and fully electric vehicles, supporting its goal of e-vehicles making up more than 40% of its U.S. sales by 2030. The company, whose brands include Peugeot, Fiat, Opel and U.S. best-sellers Jeep and Ram, earlier this year announced it would invest more than 30 billion euros through 2025 on electrifying its vehicle lineup. Stellantis has said it would build three battery plants in Europe and two in North America, including at least one in the United States. Intesa Sanpaolo analyst Monica Bosio said the deal was positive, and a further step ahead in Stellantis' electrification process. It comes weeks after Stellantis and its partner TotalEnergies agreed to open up their battery cell joint venture ACC to Daimler, to expand their European sourcing of battery cells. Stellantis is also targeting more than 70% of sales in Europe to be of low-emission vehicles by 2030, and aims to make the total cost of owning an EV equal to that of a gasoline-powered model by 2026. Touring's rebodied Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Lusso leaks ahead of Geneva debut
Mon, Mar 2 2015The F12 Berlinetta is, in this writer's estimation, one of the best-looking Ferraris and among the most striking automobiles on the road. But its aggressive lines, even the most die-hard fan would have to admit, may not be to everyone's taste. Like that of the customer who likely commissioned Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera to rebody this particular example. Called the Berlinetta Lusso, this coachbuilt F12 recalls a time when the 250 GT – ostensibly the F12's progenitor – was offered in performance-focused SWB guise and as the more elegant Lusso model. It bears certain obvious links to the stock version – particularly the headlights and front air vents – but takes a decidedly more graceful approach that starts to remind us more of a two-seat version of the 612 Scaglietti, especially in that shade of blue and with those wheels. As these images just surfaced, we'll have to hold on for its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show this week to delve into the full details. But chances are that Touring didn't find it necessary to tinker much with the F12's 6.3-liter V12 and its 730 horsepower, much as it has apparently left the interior largely in tact.
Ferrari to offer 458 examples of new Speciale Spider
Mon, 18 Aug 2014Talk about first-world, one-percenter problems: you want to get a new Ferrari, you've even settled on the 458, but you can't decide between the Spider and the Speciale. It's a tough call, we know. But your pain will be over soon, if the latest rumors are to be believed.
Those rumors have it that, at an exclusive preview event for select customers at Pebble Beach this past weekend, Ferrari showed off a new 458 variant that combines the best attributes of the 458 Spider (namely its folding hardtop) with those of the 458 Speciale (those being its 600-horsepower engine and other go-fast bits).
Succeeding the similarly exclusive, best-of-both-worlds, F430-based 16M Scuderia Spider, the new 458 Speciale Spider (or whatever it's ultimately called) is said to be limited to 458 examples worldwide, and is expected to be unveiled to the public at the Paris Motor Show this coming October.
