LOW MILEAGE!!!  1966 Dodge Charger. It has approximately 37,000 original miles. Originally a white car. It has the rare 361 engine. They did not put that into the 1967 Charger. And made very few with this engine. This car is a perfect candidate and ready for a partial restoration. It won't take much. The most amazing thing is the exterior trim is in almost perfect condition, there are only 3 slight flaws that every auto body guy has told be are simple fixes. There is a small dent in rear bumper. (see photo) As you can see from photos, all old parts from previous owners and myself have been kept. Original wheels on car right now.  Previous owner told me it was originally a grandma car. Hence the low mileage. I'm the fourth owner of this Missouri car. It has been garaged the whole time I've had it. I've had it for approx 2 years. My intent was to restore it to a nice driver condition. Not necessarily to show car condition. But it is a perfect candidate to make a show car. But, I am unfortunately not able to now.

Previous owner replaced/repaired the Electroluminescent display lighting module. The headlamp mechanism that flips the lights open and closed, currently is not working. Previous owner said it was before I purchased. Might be a fuse. Haven't checked.  AC and Heat are currently not hooked up. But both work fine, before we unhooked. We unhooked to do some engine tuning/timing and adding back the original manifold and a new carburetor. Carburetor is only 6 moths old. We also replaced brakes.  Notice the original spare tire (see photos). Back trunk area is missing some of the trunk lining. There is an extra front seat that 2 owners ago had purchased, not for sure why. But, you've got one.(See Dropbox photos) Both front seats are in great condition just need re-upholstering.  Only rust is in rear lower qtr panels. See photos. Auto body people say easy repair without using bondo. It unfortunately has a bad barn black paint job that is flaking off. My intent was to go back to the original white. I've purchased many extras: I have 6 of the original hubcaps, but missing 1 inner spinner (spent approx $300, see photos). The clock- new, old stock ($500 value, I can email photo). Bunch of literature, Matchbox car, Ad Photos. (approx $100, see I can email photo) Also, have some of the repair records dating back to original to prove 37k original miles. (see I can email photo) I have over $10,000 + into this right now as it sits. Hopefully it will go to a great home! Let me know if I've forgotten to address anything. I can email you a Dropbox link to see more photos, etc.

Chrysler's Jefferson North plant builds 5-millionth SUV [w/video]

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

Chrysler's Jefferson North Assembly Plant opened in 1992 for production of the first Jeep Grand Cherokee, but in the subsequent years, the Detroit plant has gone on to produce some of the company's biggest SUVs including the Jeep Commander and Dodge Durango. Earlier this week, the plant produced its five-millionth SUV, which, fittingly, was a Grand Cherokee.
Celebrating the plant's five-millionth unit, the silver 2014 Grand Cherokee was promptly donated to the USO. In addition to this milestone SUV, Chrysler also had a near-perfect 1993-95 ZJ Grand Cherokee on hand for the photo op. Scroll down for the Chrysler press release as well as a video showing some of the speeches from the celebration.

Autoblog's guilty pleasure cars

Tue, Mar 10 2015

Guilty pleasures are part of life – don't even try to pretend like you don't have one (or two, or six). In the non-automotive space, this could come down to that secret playlist in your iPhone of songs you'll only listen to when you're alone; or think of that one TV show you really do love, but won't admit to your friends. I've got plenty, and so do you. Going back to cars, here's a particularly juicy one for me: several years ago, I had a mad crush on the very last iteration of the Cadillac DTS. Oh yes, the front-wheel-drive, Northstar V8-powered sofa-on-wheels that was the last remaining shred of the elderly-swooning days of Cadillac's past. Every time I had the chance to drive one, I was secretly giddy. Don't hate me, okay? These days, the DTS is gone, but I've still got a mess of other cars that hold a special place in my heart. And in the spirit of camaraderie, I've asked my other Autoblog editors to tell me some of their guilty pleasure cars, as well – Seyth Miersma, as you can see above, has a few choice emotions to share about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Read on to find out what cars make us secretly happy. Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG This decadent convertible is the epitome of the guilty pleasure. It's big, powerful, fairly heavy and it's richly appointed inside and out. It's a chocolate eclair with the three-pointed star on the hood. Given my druthers, I'd take the SL65 AMG, which delivers 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That output is borderline absurd for this laid-back convertible. I don't care. You don't need dessert. Sometimes you just crave it. The SL line is about the feel you get on the road. The roof is open. The air, sun and engine sounds all embrace you. It's the same dynamic you could have experienced in a Mercedes a century ago, yet the SL gives you the most modern of luxuries. An Airscarf feature that warms my neck and shoulders through a vent embedded in the seat? Yes, please. Sure, it's an old-guy car. Mr. Burns and Lord Grantham are probably too young and hip for an SL65. I don't care. This is my guilty pleasure. Release the hounds. – Greg Migliore Senior Editor Ford Flex I drove my first Flex in 2009 when my mother let me borrow hers for the summer while I was away at college. The incredibly spacious interior made moving twice that summer a breeze, and the 200-mile trips up north were quite comfortable.

SRT back to Dodge, Dart SRT, new Challenger, Charger and Caravan's death outlined in 5-yr plan

Tue, 06 May 2014

The onslaught of news from Fiat Chrysler's layout of five-year plans continued with Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis this morning, including the unexpected announcement that SRT was coming back into the fold.
After just a few years existing as an independent entity within the Fiat Chrysler universe, an unceremonious press release hit in conjunction with today's lineup of announcements, saying "the SRT family of vehicles will be consolidated under the Dodge brand." Group CEO Sergio Marchionne thanked SRT headman Ralph Gilles for his dedication to the high-performance wing, calling out is efforts in expanding the vehicle lineup and including more customized models. He did not reference disappointing SRT Viper sales today, but we sense there's a bit of subtext.
With the SRT reunion at Dodge, it's appropriate that some of the most exciting product announcements for the next five years have to do with upcoming performance products. First out of the gate will be a refresh for that flagging Viper in 2015, which comes as little surprise.
