Hi i have a 1986 Monte Carlo SS it is a 1 owner vehicle with 93000 miles on it.....it has a clean title the car has a fairly new paint job and brand new interior the color of the car is black cherry the stock 305 engine has been replaced with a rebuild chevy 350 the engine has a edelbrock intake, edelbrock headers with the catalytic converter still in place still has the stock exhaust on it, it has a gear drive instead of a timing chain and everything on the car was put on and made sure it was smog legal and yes the car passes smog with flying colors. It still has the stock carb on it but was also rebuild and the car is very reliable. It still has all the Air conditioning stuff on the car has a brand new compressor the only thing it needs is for it to be recharged so you can have ice cold air conditioning. The car has a new 1900 dollar art carr 2004-R 4 speed transmission in it with a shift kit it shifts really firm and will last for a long time this transmission was bought brand new. This car is very dependable and starts up everytime and it has brand new 20 inch irocs with brand new tires the dash has a couple of cracks on it but its not a big deal i have a dash mat on it inside the car the interior is very nice it has brand new interior in it so everything is perfect with a grant steering wheel the only thing missing inside is the left door knob to roll the window up this car has roll up windows instead of the electric ones. This car is a bench seat car with the column on the wheel. The car has been lowered so to me it needs gas shocks any gas shock is better then the old stock original shocks it still has in my opinion because it still has the old air shocks and it would ride a lot better with the modern gas shocks in place...it has a upgraded cd player overall the car is really clean the engine bay area can use a pressure wash and you would be good to go this car needs nothing mechanically just get in and go! if you have any questions you can also contact me call or text if i dont respond to emails fast enough thanks 9098435713

GM to restore legendary Corvette damaged in sinkhole accident
Fri, Dec 5 2014Car lover's hearts' sank when they saw images of bent and destroyed classic Corvettes at the bottom of a sinkhole last February after the floor of the National Corvette Museum gave way. General Motors announced Wednesday it would restore the one millionth Corvette ever produced to its former glory. The 1992 convertible was heavily damaged when a 40-foot deep sinkhole opened beneath a bevy of rare cars at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Since then, GM has been slowly restoring the classic cars, though five of the eight that caught in the sinkhole were determined to be too damaged to repair. This November, the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil was the first car to be returned in mint condition to the Museum, according to Autoblog. It suffered significant damage but was still drivable after being pulled out of the debris. The one millionth Corvette is still in bad shape. The automaker is estimating six months worth of work to restore the car, which sustained paint scratches, rear-suspension damage and a mangled front fender. GM cutting Chevy Sonic, Buick Verano production [UPDATE]
Sun, Jan 25 2015UPDATE: A previous version of this story indicated that Orion Assembly would be idled for seven weeks, from February 16 through April 6. This was incorrect. The factory will instead only be idled for the weeks of February 16 and April 6. The story has been edited to reflect this. General Motors has announced that the factory responsible for the Buick Verano and Chevrolet Sonic will be idled for the weeks of February 16 and April 6, with blame being placed on excess supply. The Orion Assembly plant, about 45 minutes north of GM's Renaissance Center headquarters, employs about 1,800 people, but they'll be given a pair of furloughs as inventories of the sub-compact Sonic and premium compact Verano reach 127 days and 84 days, respectively. That works out to 26,600 Chevys and 9,800 Buicks waiting for buyers. According to Automotive News, the compact Chevy sales bested the industry average in 2014, jumping up nine percent versus the the overall segment's eight-percent gain, while the Buick sedan's sales were down four percent. When asked about the shutdown, a GM spokesman told AN that it will "build to market demand," while also pointing out that the company did not comment on production plans. The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
