SELLER REMARKS |

Fans of the '70s, this 1978 Chevrolet C10 pickup will bring back good memories of a wonderful time. Forget your Bicentennial quarter collection, your Captain America lunchbox, and your Donnie and Marie albums, this attractive Chevy C10 Cheyenne is your express ticket back to your youth.
The good news is that this is a Chevy C10 pickup truck, and brings with it all the good stuff that these trucks all possess: rugged good looks, unmatched durability, and the ability to handle all the performance modifications that you'd find on a Camaro or Chevelle. The Hawaiian Blue paint is the truck's original color, quite nicely done and totally appropriate for the mid-70s. The sheetmetal appears to be original and it's laser-straight, so you don't have to wonder if this was some kind of work truck brought back to life. Instead, it has obviously been something special all its life, and like those aforementioned quarters, there are collectors keeping them safe for future generations to enjoy. The C10 offers plenty of eye candy, too, including the original front bumper that has a great shine, an unmarked original grille, new emblems (the fender emblems are original and in great shape), and a new diamond-plate rear bumper that gives the truck a heavy-duty look. And if you want it to work for a living, there's a fresh spray-in bed liner with a rubber mat in the bed.
This truck's real treat is inside, where it sports a combination of original and reproduction parts to create an all-of-a-piece look that's just the way you remember. The dash pad, headliner, and door panels are original and show some signs of age, but the cloth seat cover is new and gives a fairly accurate representation of what you got from the factory. Matching blue carpets work with the exterior paint and while they're a little faded, a set of heavy-duty floor mats will keep them from deteriorating. This truck also offers factory A/C, an AM/FM stereo radio, and fresh weather seals, so it's more than just a piece of memorabilia, it's ready to drive!
Nothing runs better than a smooth Chevy small block, and this C10 still carries its original 305 cubic inch V8. Still quite stock and nicely maintained, it runs superbly with a V8 burble at idle and smooth torque throughout. A stock air cleaner and painted valve covers keep it looking OEM and there are obvious signs of care throughout its life, including new plug wires, a recent master cylinder, and an air intake hose that looks brand new, and how often do you see that? The TH350 3-speed automatic was rebuilt about 200 miles ago, and with 2.76 gears in the 12-bolt rear end, it's still a fantastic highway cruiser. The single exhaust system is recent, and the rest of the chassis is stock and nicely preserved under a uniform layer of undercoating that isn't so heavy that anything is hidden. Four original Rally wheels wear 255/70/15 white-letter radials for a bit of a sporting look.
Clean, nicely preserved, and a ton of fun to drive, this C10 will definitely get its share of double-takes. Call today!

The US Department of Justice announced yesterday that the manager of a collision and restoration business in Virginia admitted he helped misappropriate and sell vehicles and parts from the State Department. Specifically, he sold 12 Chevrolet Suburbans, a Hummer, and $7,500 worth of tires and wheels. He pled guilty to charges to commit theft of government property and wire fraud. He will likely see 18 to 20 months in prison, a fine of $4,000 to $40,000, and has already agreed to pay restitution of $416,020 and asset forfeiture of the same amount. According to the Department of Justice, the body shop manager, James Ratcliffe, worked with the owner of the business and a State Department official, both unnamed, to obtain the property. It started with the wheels and tires, which were delivered and sold on two occasions, one in 2011 and another in 2012. The trucks came later, and were sold throughout 2011 and 2013. Ratcliffe and the shop owner kept most of the profits, and shared some of the leftovers with the government official. In addition to the vehicles that were sold, the government official also gave Ratcliffe a pair of Suburbans for his own personal use. The Department of Justice estimated the total value of the SUVs at $96,400. In total, the group misappropriated $512,420 worth of property. Related Video:
