Are you man enough to make something out of this damn truck?
After a few years of throwing blood, sweat, money, and tears at this seafoam beast I'm tapping out. Bought locally from the son of the original owner 3 years ago in pretty near stock condition(Holley carb on Edelbrock intake, and a giant aluminum radiator). I dove head first into creating the baddest hotrod truck a man could want. The front suspension was removed to the frame and completely replaced minus the control arms and coils(which received a haircut). The front drums lost out to a disc brake kit that included a 2" drop spindle. The power steering is new as well, the hoses are original as they are in great shape, but new pump, box and hardware. KYB Gas a just shocks control all the new goodness. The rear has a c-notch I crafted to follow the frame rails, but I used square tubing 1/4" thick to add strength back in. The axle was flipped and a few leaves removed to get the stance right, new shocks in back as well. What with the ride and handling at a new level it was necessary to haul ass and burn rubber at will. Not being an engine builder I bought a fine 383 right here from ebay, advertised at 450hp and 475lbft.
So, with such a great parts list why have I stopped? Well, that great motor ended up falling on it's face with cylinders 3 and 4 mustering only 65psi, while everyone else pushed out 170-180. I had the bright idea to pull it and rebuild it, but realized that's not my speed. So it's ready to be pulled, everything is bagged and tagged efficiently. And I want some cash for my welding business.
Some basics I skipped
TH400 trans with cooler
10 bolt without posi
Air condition cab, units removed firewall patched
Aftermarket wiring harness
Rust on cab, near back window
New weatherstripping on doors, rest to be included
It might make a man out of you or it could break your spirit. Bid if you've got the brass balls or ovaries I so obviously am missing.
I'll answer any questions at 512-413-8465. My name is Steve. And I don't know how much you're gonna pay to win this no reserve auction, but I want $200 within 24hrs, cause I don't know you.

GM struggles to sell small cars, plans to lay off 2,084 employees at two plants
Thu, Nov 10 2016Due to low demand for some of its vehicles, General Motors plans to cut 2,084 jobs at its assembly plants in Lordstown, OH and Lansing, MI. At the same time, the automaker also announced plans to invest approximately $900 million in three of its facilities – the Toledo Transmission Operations in Ohio, Bedford Casting Operations in Indiana, and Lansing Grand River in Michigan - for future products. GM will discontinue the third shift at both the Lansing Grand River plant and the Lordstown, OH plant. The Cadillac ATS, Cadillac CTS, and Chevrolet Camaro are made at the automaker's plant in Michigan, which currently has 2,700 employees. The move to eliminate the third shift affects 810 hourly workers, as well as 29 salaried employees, starting on January 16th. The plant in Lordstown, OH currently has 4,500 employees and makes the Chevrolet Cruze sedan. The plan to discontinue the third shift will affect 43 salaried workers and 1,202 hourly employees and will start on January 23rd. As Fortune points out, sales of the Cruze are down 20 percent through October, while sales of the Cadillac ATS and CTS were down 17 percent through the same period of time. In addition to cutting the third shift at both assembly plants, the automaker plans to invest a total of $900 million between three of its facilities for unnamed future products. GM's Toledo Transmission Operations will receive $667.6 million, the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant will receive $211 million, and the automaker's Bedford Casting Operations will get $37 million. Last year, GM cut roughly 500 jobs from its Orion Township factory due to slow sales of the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, with surging crossover and SUV sales as the most likely culprit. With GM posting much healthier sales figures for the Chevrolet Equinox and Cadillac XT5 compared to the ATS, CTS, and Cruze, it looks like compact SUVs are to blame for this year's layoffs as well. GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern
Mon, 21 Jan 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.
Anti-purist 1963 Ferrari GTE sports hot rod Chevy V8
Thu, Oct 8 2015I remember reading a story around the time Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift came out. It focused on one of the star cars of that film, a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback that started the film as a shell, and in a pinch, was transformed into a modified masterpiece, complete with the RB26DETT engine from a Nissan Skyline GT-R (which started the film under the hood of an S15 Silvia). There was a genuine (and in our minds, absurd) fear in the article that taking a piece of classic American iron and fitting a twin-turbocharged JDM engine would result in some awful trend in the classic car community. If you thought a GT-R-powered classic Mustang was sacrilege, though, this car will probably make you vomit. For the rest of us, it's a neat piece of engineering. Shown above is a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE, and yes, that's a 302-cubic-inch, small-block Chevrolet V8 under the hood. On top of that, it uses the six-speed manual transmission from a Viper, a nine-inch Ford rear end, and Mitsubishi-sourced paint. So yeah, it's a FrankenFerrari. Check out Road Heads' interview with this custom GTE's owner, which is followed by a brief test drive. And of course, head into Comments afterwards, and let us know what you think. Is this Yankee-powered 250 GTE blasphemous or badass?
