1985 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Silverado Sport Utility 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Nicholasville, Kentucky, United States
Hello. A good, long time friend of mine has asked me to sell his 1985 Chevrolet K-5 4x4 Blazer for him as he is very busy in his medical practice. He is a long time owner of this Blazer and he has advised me that he is ready to sell it as it is no longer needed. He purchased the Blazer in Phoenix, Arizona 7 or 8 years ago and transported it back home, here, in Kentucky. He wanted a white one and he also wanted one that was rust free and had never been operated on salty roads so the vehicle would be rust free. This one is just exactly that.....100% rust free, straight and solid, inside as well as out. It has all of it's original body panels and they are very nice as the photo's indicate. Once home, he had the Blazer refinished as the paint was chalked a bit from the Arizona sun. It was stripped and refinished all over several years ago. The paint finish is still nice, clean and shiney. He further had the stock 305 engine discarded, and he purchased a GM Goodwrench crate 350 v-8 and had that engine installed. The engine currently has almost 50,000 miles on it. While in there, he had the original transmission fully rebuilt, and it, as well, has about 50,000 miles. Mechanically, this Blazer is top notch and runs and drives very good. The body, as mentioned, is in excellent, rust free condition. The frame and undercarriage is also rust free. The interior is in need of some improvements as the photo's indicate. Some of the plastic trim needs renewed or replaced on the dash and door panels. The seats in front will need new covers as the originals suffered in that Arizona sun for sure. The dash looks good. The Blazer has a small lift kit and a nice set of tires and wheels. It is a solid, tight, excellent running K-5 that needs just a bit of TLC and some cash spent to bring it up to be a really nice, sharp, rare, K-5. It is nice to find one such as this that has a such a great body and chassis to begin with if you're in the market to fix one up. It runs out just fine as described, so you can drive it home to just about anywhere, I would imagine. I think that I have described it just about as good as I can, but I am sure there may be some question's or concern's. Feel free to contact me via, e-mail, text or just call. I will include my number at the end if you need to speak with us. We are good, simple folk's here. Thanks for looking at my friend's Blazer and God bless you all :) Here is my number: 1-859-553-6538.

GM to trim Russian output, raise prices amid currency woes
Thu, Feb 5 2015General Motors is shutting down its factory in Russia's second largest city, St. Petersburg, from the middle of March until the middle of May as the country's currency, the ruble, continues to give economists fits. The ruble's value has plunged due not only to western sanctions, but a precipitous fall in oil prices. We knew these factors were already impacting the auto industry there, as Ford reported in its 2014 earnings statement, and now they're forcing GM to cut production at the factory, shown above, that is responsible for production of the Chevrolet Cruze and Opel Astra. Meanwhile, Automotive News is citing Russian outlet Kommersant as saying that GM has hiked its prices in the country by an average of 20 percent over the past two months. While a GM spokesman confirmed the St. Petersburg plant would be shut down for the two-month span reported by Kommersant and AN, he would not confirm the price increase. GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.
