Next-gen Cadillac Escalade debuting October 7 in NYC
Wed, 14 Aug 2013Cadillac will unveil the next Escalade in October, at an event in New York City. It will be the sole member of GM's large SUV family to not get a debut at the Texas State Fair, which we don't think is all that surprising, considering the kind of clientele attracted by the big Caddy.
The new truck, from the few teaser images and spy shots we've seen, has evolved with the rest of the Cadillac range. We've got a glimpse of its tall, thin headlights, which look like an evolution of what's on the current truck. Expect some kind of egg-crate grille, reminiscent of the new CTS and ATS, while Cadillac's CUE system should feature heavily in what we hope is a thoroughly revised cabin.
The event takes place on October 7, so check back then for more info on the all-new Escalade.
The Beast 2.0: What the 2016 presidential election winner will ride in
Thu, Aug 11 2016The current presidential limousine, which is referred to as "The Beast," will be altered for the next President of the United States. Our photographers managed to capture the vehicle testing. " The Beast 2.0" will follow closely behind the current presidential limousine that's built upon a rugged commercial truck chassis and has a sedan-like body. Instead of wearing styling details from the now-retired Cadillac STS, the new presidential limo appears to borrow looks from the latest Escalade and the CT6 sedan. The bomb-proof prototype is wearing LED headlights, has a more angular grille that features Cadillac's wreathless crest, and ditches regular antennas for a shark fin unit. Other than these changes, the Beast 2.0 should still be able to house seven passengers and have enough protection to be one of the safest vehicles on the planet. The prototype looks like it's higher off the ground, as well, which should help the next president to avoid an embarrassing moment. There's no word on whether the Beast 2.0 will be ready in time for the next president presidential inauguration in January, but our photographers report that GM recently stepped up its testing for the limousine at its Milford Proving Grounds. Cadillac teases camo'd ELR ahead of Detroit debut
Tue, 08 Jan 2013With the 2014 Cadillac ELR being introduced next week at the Detroit Auto Show, General Motors has revealed another picture of its luxury range extended electric vehicle. Last month, we saw a dark, teaser photo showing some of the body detail for the electric coupe, but this recent photo shows the Cadillac in full camouflage testing in California back in September.
If this car looks familiar, it's because our spy shooters got a jump on GM by catching the car in action and providing pictures from all angles. There are still no official details for the ELR yet aside from the fact that it will share the Voltec system with the Chevrolet Volt, but we'll finally see the car unveiled in Detroit a week from today.
