my personal car, driven daily for the past 6 years i think, maybe 23k invested, ill try and list everything, 1967 buick special/skylark sedan, originaly had a 300v8, now has a rebuilt gs340 motor, with a edelbrock 600 carb, hei ignition, 1wire alt, there is a sticky lifter, been there since the motor was built, the noise comes and goes and is worse when you need to change the oil or its really cold, motor is STRONG, buick 2 speed switch pitch trans( the torque convertor has 2 lock up speeds, its makes her go faster when you floor it!) stock rear, stock drum brakes with correct 67 power booster and master added in, brakes are fantastic! kyb gr2 shocks, moog variable rate springs, poly bushings everywhere, huge front swaybar and solid end links, adjustable greasable rear four link with another big swaybar. she rides flat and smooth with only minimal creek. i have a body mount kit that i never installed included, the car was once blue on blue, and i sanded her all the way out and primed/sealed and painted the black myself, the white top was done by a body shop and is a cadilac pearl white. police raditator. the back door and antenna are shaved off, the back doors work fromt he inside, the driver side works off the lock nob, the passenger works like stock. only the front doors have bumper chrome on the edges, the wheels are 16" and the front tires are almost new, the backs are good and i have 1 used tire that matches, te wheels are mounted on 2" spacers, there have never been issues with this wheel and spacer setup, projector headlights on relays, gelcell battery, interior converted to black, dash pad padded and wraped with a red hip stitch that matches the grill, the steering wheel is a from a 66 riveria and looks perfect in the car, custom autosound stereo with 10 disc changer in the trunk, amp under front seat powers 6x9s and the trunkis wired for subs and amps bu tthere are none now. the stereo works and sounds great. there is a usb and 1/8 jack in the glove box for the stereo for ipod etc, everything works, heat, lights, signals, horns, and the car is inspected, i run regular tags. the windows are tinted, the door cranks are 64 lesabre, the coat hooks as well, the door looks are chrome dice, the valve stems are buick caps, the front seat has 2 tears in driver but area, and 2 in the back of the front seat. the back seat has a funny mark from one of the kids seats, the interior has 5 years on it and isnt perfect but still very nice, all of its 5 years old. door seals and trunk seal done, some window tracks felts done, the aframe rubbers were not the best reproductions and they make some noise at highway speeds, minor weeping when the rain is heavy, the back window leaks in a heavy rain too. there is some rust in the passenger front rocker, and in the driver rear fender by the back bumper, the pans are good but the trunk has got holes, nothing big, the bumper stickers on the bumper cover the faded chrome. the reverse lights are gone, rusted out and i cant find replacements, but apperently i dont need them becouse of the year. the driver miror has a remote on the door, the passenger i added so i could tint the back window. the wiper blades are modern and work, the wiper washer does not. the clock runs a tad fast, the inside mirror is a day/night. 2.5 dual exhuast madrel bent with flowmaster 40's and resonator tips, sounds good! the tires are 225/50/16 and the fronts are different brands then the back. the tack under the dash works. the high beams are real hella's and a bright as hell. i have a factory manual and a pile of parts and bits that go with.the car can be driven anywhere and is safe, the alighnment has been redone and the fender has been pushed out and a new headlight fited, pictures shortly, of the damge and the minor repair. i loved this car, i put alot of miles on her, my son made me buy her back(he insists hes a he) when i sold her. the cars name is durty rumble. and she has allways been very good to us. both my children came home from the hospital in this car. i cried a bit when i wrote this. but i found a 67 sport wagon and have decided to just move on and let her go complete. located in charlottesville va and avail to be seen and driven( well up and down the street). the wreck that did the damage was low speed, and doesnt seem to have hurt the wheel or front end at all, but i didnt drive much after as i switched to my pontiac so this one could wait for the insurence and what not to get delt with. this is a great deal on a great car, im open to offers and trades as well, there is dyno mat everywhere i could get to.
to be clear as the pictures are not, the front bumper, rad support, hood, pass fender, inner fender, front and back pass doors, grill, are damaged to some degree, the car also has an assortment of dings, scratches and other imperfections from being 47 years old and having a 140k driven in that time. |

Reuss says Cadillac CT6-based Buick could happen
Wed, Apr 15 2015Could the upcoming Cadillac CT6 and its Omega platform spawn a Buick variant? According to General Motors' product chief Mark Reuss, it could potentially be in the cards, but "not yet." "We're working on that," Reuss told Automotive News at the 2015 New York Auto Show. While there hasn't been a large, rear-drive Buick on dealerships since the Roadmaster in 1996, the company gave a big hint that it could head in that direction with the Avenir Concept, shown earlier this year at the Detroit Auto Show. As Automotive News explains, a rear-drive Omega-platform Buick could be a real hit in China, where consumers buy 13 Buicks for every one Cadillac. That move would be a big help to GM's bottom line, too, as it'd significantly increase the Omega platform's economy of scale. If a large Buick based on the CT6 were to head to China, though, it likely wouldn't be a simple case of badge engineering (thank God). Reuss hinted to Automotive News that while the mixed-material construction of the CT6 platform "is very flexible," doing an "identical version of that platform or not is a different conversation." What are your thoughts? Should Buick adopt the Omega platform for an Avenir-based sedan? Should that vehicle be sold here in the US, or should it be a China-only offering? Have your say in Comments. 2016 Buick Cascada convertible isn't afraid of Detroit's snow
Mon, Jan 12 2015It's the great irony of introducing a convertible in Detroit – while the assembled media might look at the car and imagine warm weather and clear skies, the atmosphere outside is anything but. Such was the case Sunday as Buick rolled out the 2016 Cascada in Detroit's Eastern Market. Snow didn't dampen the atmosphere, though, as we clapped eyes on the sleek, Astra-based convertible for the first time. While this is far from the first product Buick has borrowed from General Motors' European operations, unlike previous vehicles, changes for the Cascada were kept to a minimum. There is no waterfall grille or four-way portholes, which Buick was sure to install when converting the Insignia and Mokka to the Regal and Encore. Then again, neither of these styling treatments were really necessary, as the Cascada remains a handsome and stylish offering. Its cabin is typical of other Buicks, and features a few too many buttons on the center stack. Still, a thick-rimmed, flat-bottomed steering wheel, similar to what's found in the Verano, is both attractive and functional, while the perforated leather seats looks quite comfortable, as well. Take a look at our gallery of live images, which includes shots of the Cascada with the top up and down, and then head back to our original post on the new convertible for all the mechanical details.
Two nearly new 1987 Buick Grand National 'twins' found in garage after 30 years
Fri, Apr 7 2017Back in the '80s, a Buick Grand National could leave a lot of vehicles in its dust. The final, 1987 version of the menacingly styled performance coupe produced 245 horsepower and 355 pound feet of torque, and it was never designed to sit still, let alone for 30 years. But two low-mile Grand Nationals did just that. At the time, it was widely known that nothing like the Grand National would be built again, as the Regal platform would be moving to front-wheel drive. So a lot of buyers stockpiled Grand Nationals and rarer GNX versions with the idea of making a buck on them when they gained value. Some people even bought several. That's what happened to these two cars, recently unearthed from their slumber. Thirty years of storage has turned them into barn finds instead of showroom beauties, and they haven't exactly been flawlessly preserved. A story reported on gm-efi.com shows the cars – the "Twins," as they're called – parked side to side, the way they were laid to rest decades ago, with thick dust on them. Two enthusiasts, Shawn Matthews and William Avila, originally contacted the owner, who had posted them for sale on Facebook with a staggering $200,000 asking price. After inspecting the cars and confirming they were legit, the prospective buyers managed to strike a deal for an undisclosed sum. The story does say the seller was a bit eccentric, demanding money in hand before the cars could be touched at all, but the cars were eventually acquired and transported to a shop for desperately needed refurbishing. Time has caused the headliners on both cars to droop, and it's obvious all gaskets and fluids will need to be addressed, but both cars have extremely low odometer readings: One has 807 miles on the clock, while the other hasn't even reached 600. The car with a more miles was moved "once in a while," so clearly the original owner couldn't resist giving it a go while the other one slept. We couldn't've, either.
