Talk about a sleeper sport wagon!! 2000 Volvo V70 R, AWD, 2.3L turbo puts out 261 horsepower. This car is super fun to drive. Automatic 5 speed, Cold AC, heated seats. Rare R version gets you the ground effect spoilers, 15psi high pressure turbo, R version leather and suede seats, R version 16" Alloy wheels, and a rare car here in the US. Power everything, Premium 3 disc cd changer, and 7 speaker Dolby surround sound! Sun roof, rack rails, built in child seat in the middle row. Volvo only brought over 500 V70R's in 2000 from Sweden, and this is ONE of FIFTY in silver! Own a nice rare car and have fun!! Search Youtube for Volvo V70R and you'll see the Swedes used these at police cars. These cars go 300k miles plus with no problems! I purchased this car with 98k miles and have an extended warranty on it, that can be transferred to you. New tires, always serviced with Mobile 1 synthetic, excellent gas mileage. This Volvo has been rather maintenance free, beyond the Volvo recommended maintenance, but here is the brief maintenance history since I have owned it:

Timing belt done at 90k miles

New front wheel bearings at 135k miles

Propeller Shaft (rear drive shaft) done at 142k miles (under warranty)

New tires at 145k miles (less than 10k miles on tires)

Complete tune up at 145k miles, plugs, etc

Always Mobile 1 oil changes at 4k intervals (to maintain warranty status)

12-year-old golfer wins Volvo for hole-in-one [w/video]

Some people just have all of the luck. Natasha Oon, a 12-year-old girl in Malaysia, was recently attending the 40th RSGC Ladies Amateur Open Championship at the Royal Selangor Golf Club with her parents. On a whim, she teed up a shot with her eight iron and scored a hole-in-one. That would have been impressive for a girl her age by any standards, but she didn't see the sign that said making the shot also won her a new Volvo XC60 T5. Not a bad prize for a tween who won't be allowed to drive for at least a few years.
So what does any good 12-year-old do with a CUV? Give it to her parents of course. According to website Paultan, she plans on giving the crossover to her mom and told her, "this is the car that you will use to drive me to school every day." Tony Nicolosi confirmed as Volvo's North American CEO

This past October, John Maloney stepped down from his post as CEO at Volvo Cars North America. In his place, the Swedish automaker tentatively promoted Tony Nicolosi, who had until then served as head of Volvo Car Financial Services. The appointment was reportedly temporary, giving Nicolosi the title of acting CEO. But according to Automotive News, his position has now been confirmed for the long run.
Although Volvo has yet to announce a new director for its financial arm, Nicolosi says they have found the right person and will announce sometime between now and the National Automobile Dealers Association convention, set to take place later this month in New Orleans.
Last month, Volvo also announced that its global communications chief Bodil Eriksson is moving from the home office in Gothenburg to the North American office in Rockleigh, New Jersey. Anders Kärrberg has been promoted from the government affairs post to take Eriksson's place.

Volvo denies boss Jacoby is taking a run at Opel CEO post

It seems that every news report that involves the name "Opel" is eventually followed by a report that says, "Uh, never mind." Executives fill positions, then they're gone, or they're supposed to fill positions but duck out before doing so, five-year product offensives turn into grabbing for life preservers, and turnaround plans are followed by... new turnaround plans. With the recent departure of Opel CEO Karl-Friedrich Stracke, Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri reported that Volvo CEO Stefan Jacoby topped the list of candidates to sit in Opel's very hot seat.
Volvo spokesman Stefan Elfstrom has piped up to say "Mr. Jacoby is fully occupied with running Volvo and has no plan for leaving his present job." Stranger things have happened, though, and who knows what the truth is, but we have to admit we'd be surprised if Jacoby jumped off the Volvo express - recently given an $11-billion boost by parent company Geely - to take his chances in the Opel maelstrom.
So Opel's search for a CEO continues. At least we have the Adam to look forward to.
