Turbo/engine runs strong and transmission shifts smooth with no leaks Flawless oil report from Blackstone Labs (see picture for their description/explanation) showing internal engine condition Brand new ARD ECU with Green Tune for better MPG's and a nicer power curve ardideas.com (Original/Factory ecu included) IPD boost gauge Weitec suspension 17" Volans wrapped in BRAND NEW tires (approximately 8 miles) Nautica blue metallic exterior New radiator, coolant flush, and Volvo coolant installed Tan leather seats (front seats are heated, drivers side only gets warm) AM/FM CD Cassette Auto mirrors/windows/locks AC blows cold and just filled with refrigerant Heat gets very hot New RainEx wipers New 3M 20% window tint Service manual and extra parts (floor mats, Alpine CD changer, various replacement switches, etc) included Large folder with service history dating back to 2003 (see pictures) All parts were from Volvo (from IPD.com) and synthetic fluids were only used. 10/14 Pennsylvania State Inspection (just a few hundred miles ago) We are the third owners and are sad to let this go. I love the car, but i never drive it (about 1,000 miles in the last two years). I have invested $1700 in the car within the last 1000 miles with the plan to return it as my daily driver (car was completely gone over by a Volvo Tech from Keystone Motors), however, the car can not carry the items I need for my work and I must continue to use my truck. The car was primarily used for my highway commute (once a week, 80 miles round trip), as well as our regular long trips thanks to its roominess, safety, and reliability. Car handles very well on the Weitec suspension, and is very quiet and comfortable on the highway. Engine has plenty of power and sounds very nice under acceleration. Overall, the car is very clean. Paint is in very good condition with the exception on the minor spots on the hood, as well as the common wear spot on top of the rear bumper (see pictures). Interior is in good shape (could use a simple carpet shampooing), and the seats are very comfortable. Hatch could use new struts, or continue to use my sweet custom broom handle. Check engine light is on since tuning has been installed. ARD said this will subside once the car adapts to the new ecu. I have been careful to share the condition of vehicle by my description and showing pictures of everything. If there are any questions, please ask. Thank you On Apr-03-14 at 04:46:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Timing belt changed at 142,145 Pin stripe is fading. I was going to remove it entirely if I was keeping the car. |

Volvo will replace C70... eventually
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Volvo has already announced the end of production for its C70 hardtop convertible, a handsome but seriously dated offering that was last refreshed in 2010. Volvo won't be abandoning the two-door coupe-convertible market for long, though, as news out of Australia claims that a replacement, based on the striking Concept Coupe, will join the Chinese-owned, Swedish brand's ranks, although it's unclear precisely when we'll see it on the road.
"Eventually yes... as soon as possible," Hakan Samuelsson, Volvo's CEO, told the Drive, before adding, "when we are ready."
"The Coupe Concept car, we can put that into production and it will have an exposure on the brand. But at the end it's the cream on the cake and at the end you need the cake first before you put the cream on it," said Volvo's Senior Vice President of Product Strategy and Vehicle Line Management, Lex Kerssemakers.
New Lotus SUV could be based on Volvo architecture
Tue, Mar 20 2018Last year, Chinese carmaker Geely upped its stake in Lotus to a majority, recently investing more money into the British brand. Now, talking with Automotive News, CEO Jean-Marc Gales says Geely has approved three new models: two sports cars and the third an SUV. The sports cars will be announced later this year, and they will reach production in 2020. The last time a properly new Lotus debuted was in 2009 with the Evora, so a decade later new products are certainly due. But what about that SUV? Autocar says that since Geely also owns Volvo, that makes it possible for Lotus to base the SUV onto the Volvo SPA platform, which is also used in the XC60 and XC90. The choice of platform would mean the SUV would have to be a four-cylinder model, but that's nothing new to Lotus. It could even use Volvo's "Twin Engine" hybrid setup, which would mean a power output of over 400 horsepower as stock, and that with Lotus' eagerness for lightness could be a potent combination. Autocar quotes Gales as saying, "It will go round bends like nothing else in its segment." The target weight for the approximately Porsche Macan-sized SUV is under 2,000 kilos (4,400 pounds), and the Macan weighs 4244 pounds in 400-hp Turbo guise. The Lotus SUV is projected to hit the market in "about four years," and it's very likely to be built in China instead of Britain, as the Chinese market is very enticing — especially for this class of vehicle. The vehicles will still be designed at Lotus' Hethel HQ. Related Video:
Volvo's electric XC90 SUV to include lidar as standard equipment next year
Thu, Jun 24 2021DETROIT — Volvo Cars plans to make lidar sensors standard equipment in a new generation of its XC90 SUV next year as part of a strategy to deploy more advanced safety and automated driving technology that relies on precise images of the world around the vehicle. The decision by Volvo Cars to fold lidar sensors into the base price of its vehicle is a bet that customers will pay for the additional capability. It has been called a "watershed moment" by some in the industry. The Swedish brand, owned by China's Geely group, is taking a sharply different road from rival Tesla Inc, which has shunned lidar and radar and is focusing on just cameras and software for its automated driving systems. Self-driving car sensor startup Luminar Technologies Inc will supply Volvo Cars with its Iris lidar and Sentinel software in combination with software from Volvo in the electric XC90 SUV that will be built in South Carolina and go on sale in 2022, the companies said. The new technologies are designed to address traffic situations that often result in severe injuries and fatalities. Over time, the technology will become more capable and will increasingly intervene to prevent collisions, the companies said. "By having this hardware as standard, we can continuously improve safety features over the air and introduce advanced autonomous drive systems," Volvo Cars Chief Executive Hakan Samuelsson said in a statement. Lidar sensors, which use laser light pulses to render precise images of the environment around the car, are seen as essential by many automakers to enable obstacle detection and avoidance in advanced driving assistance systems and eventually in fully automated vehicles. Complete sensor set on on electric successor to XC90 Until now, lidar has been too costly for automakers to implement as anything other than an option that costs extra. Luminar CEO Austin Russell said the pricing for its lidar is on the order of $1,000 per unit. Volvo Cars' chief technology officer, Henrik Green, said cost is not the focus for the Swedish auto brand. While the price of the technology will come down over time as volumes grow, the rollout will accelerate use of automated services that the company can charge for. Green said subsequent vehicles will add the lidar package as standard, and that this continues Volvo Cars' history of being first to standardize many safety features, including three-point seat belts and side-impact airbags.
