Sweden's Prince Carl Philip to race for Volvo in STCC

Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte has it good. He is a member of the Swedish Royal Family, he dates a model and he has been voted by Forbes as one of the "20 Hottest Young Royals." If that were not enough, he is a fairly successful racecar driver. The latter has earned him a spot on the Volvo Polestar racing team for the Swedish Touring Car Championship. The prince will be piloting a race-spec S60 in the 2013 STCC campaign.
Starting in 2008, Prince Carl Philip began competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup, where he placed as high as 11th. In 2010, he finished first in the Porsche GT3 Endurance competition, and most recently, he placed fourth in the 2012 Swedish GT GTB.
As his motorsport career up to this point suggests, the prince is quite serious about racing and the STCC is the next step up. According to Prince Carl Philip, "There is no tougher championship in Sweden and at the same time as I have respect for it, it motivates me greatly." Volvo aligning model range into three families

Things have been slow in Gothenburg the past few years, but they're picking up speed. The only new model Volvo has released in the past four years since it was taken over by Geely - that being the V40 introduced in 2012 - started its development when the company was still under Ford's umbrella. But now the Swedish automaker is preparing to launch a volley of new models, and the new XC90 is only the starting point.
Volvo has set out to align its product portfolio into three model families - 40, 60 and 90 - each with three body-styles: sedan, wagon and crossover. (Volvo presented a tidy little table, which we've replicated below, to outline what it has in store.) That means a new S40 sedan and XC40 crossover as well as a replacement for the current V40 wagon, all to be based on a new platform shared with Geely. It also means replacements for the current S60, V60 and XC60 to be based on the modular SPA platform that underpins the new XC90, as well as a new S90 sedan to replace the S80 and a new V90 wagon to succeed the V70 and move it up-market above the V60.
All of these models are set to arrive within the next four years as Volvo moves to replace its entire lineup by 2019 and subsequently move to more competitive seven-to-eight-year product life-cycles. But as aggressively as Volvo is pursuing this renewal of its core models, they're not the only things Gothenburg has in store. Volvo Concept XC Coupe does the full monte ahead of Detroit debut [w/video]

When the doors open at the Cobo Center next week for the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, Volvo will lift the veil on its new Concept XC Coupe. But you don't have to even wait that long. A set of images leaked out yesterday to accompany a teaser video released by Volvo, but now the Swedish automaker has revealed the full thing.
The second of three new concept cars aiming to show the way forward for the brand, the Concept XC Coupe follows the Concept Coupe revealed last September. Based on Volvo's Scalable Product Architecture, the Concept XC Coupe is expected to preview the next-generation XC90 crossover, but with two fewer doors and a four-seat cabin.
With orange details, matte rubber moldings and underbody skid plates, the design is said to have been inspired by outdoor equipment manufacturer POC - naturally also based in Sweden - whose products are favored by extreme athletes around the world. It rides on 21-inch wheels and incorporates T-shaped DRL headlights, with distinctive tail-lights earmarked to make their way onto the next generation of production Volvos.
