For sale: 2001 Volvo S80 Factory Limousine

4 doors, seats 2 in driver cockpit, has 2 rows of seats which face each other in the back - can seat up to 6 in the rear. There's a dual clear glass and black-out partition between the driver and the rear.

This is an extremely rare vehicle. Factory built in Sweden and imported to the United States by the Swedish Consulate. There are only 2 of these in the U.S. and around 18 in the World. The retail price of the S80 limo is approximately $140,000 USD.

"The current official car of the King of Sweden is a stretched Volvo S80, escorted by the Swedish Security Service in BMW X5, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class models. For official occasions like state visits there is an Daimler DS420. There are also a number of different cars in the Royal Mews, which are used on special occasions."

This car has a normal left-side steering wheel and is EPA certified for sale in all 50-states. The limousine is privately owned and used for pleasure in Los Angeles, CA.

Mechanically the limousine is in excellent condition, no known problems or defects. The air conditioner is ice-cold. It's been used on every occasion with extreme confidence of its mechanical fitness.

Overall external condition of the limousine is fair. Here is the list of known external defects:

1) 6-8" area of paint bubbling on the right side of the top

2) Tinted windows have various scratches and the back window tinting shows peeling cracks

3) Various plastic pieces in cockpit (frame around the drive light switch) are either missing or not correctly attached.

4) Interior passenger arm-rest on right side is loose and plastic inserts are broken.

5) Left side passenger window (two-seats facing the rear) is off-track and does not slide down correctly.

6) Front right bumper was strained resulting in slight denting under the hood and the wheel cowl plastic is separated. This is the biggest known problem, but existed when the limo was acquired and has been duct taped shut, but needs attention.

7) Externally the car has various missing or broken reflectors, missing plastic accent plastic on edge.

8) The left and right door panels have scraped paint and or areas that are scratched and dented where the limo was incorrectly navigated around tight corners.

9) There are many small areas with paint chips, cracks, or other blemishes that warrant inspection or repair.

10) The front headlights have some interior fogging on one or both sides.

The above repairs and paint condition were quoted approximately $1800 to address. If you wanted to be extremely picky/thorough and fix every last minor problem so the car is absolutely flawless, you would probably want to budget around $3000.

Since it was used for pleasure, mostly in the evening, it was never pursued to fix all the blemishes and external defects. The limo's hosted celebrity friends, business associates, and guests without any real embarrassment of the aforementioned problems.

The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric.Â Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands.Â If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) Â— unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla.Â Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor.Â Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have:Â Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners Â— those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port Â— will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 Â— eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.

Volvo to finally replace XC90 in 2014

There's not a whole lot of life left in the current Volvo XC90, but it seems a replacement is on the way. According to What Car?, Volvo will launch its new flagship crossover sometime in 2014, riding on an all new platform that will eventually underpin several models in the company's range.
According to Volvo boss Hakan Samuelsson, this new architecture will eventually underpin the next-generation S60, V70, S80 and XC60, all of which will be getting mid-cycle enhancements over the next year. In speaking to What Car?, Samuelsson said that Volvo would not try to follow the paths set by BMW and Mercedes-Benz, instead focusing on "safety, elegant design and user-friendly functionality" for its next round of new cars.
The new XC90 will remain a seven-passenger vehicle and will be powered by a range of four-cylinder engines. Volvo will soon be dropping the five- and six-cylinder powertrains from its lineup.

Stolen first production Volvo P1800 recovered

Late last month, we told you about a 1961 Volvo P1800 that had been stolen in Sweden. The thought of losing a classic coupe to an unscrupulous thief is troubling enough, but this wasn't just any P1800 - it was the very first production example minted, and the restored red-over-white two-door was owned by the vice president of the Swedish P1800 Club to boot. Chassis Number Two was pilfered from a Stockholm lockup on either August 21 or 22, and the theft triggered an international hunt of sorts.
Fortunately, that hunt has come to a (mostly) happy ending. According to Larmtjänst AB, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting vehicle crime in Sweden, the car was spotted by someone who had read about the missing classic. The P1800 was recovered in Hägerstensvägen, a municipality of Stockholm, after being found abandoned on the road covered with a tarp. The owner is reportedly very relieved that his Volvo is mostly intact, marred only by a broken ignition and a dirty interior.
