2007 Volvo S40 2.4i
| We are pleased to present this incredibly nice, unbelievably rare Volvo S40 2.4i which has the almost unheard of 5 Speed Manual Transmission. In addition to having such a rare configuration, it's got some great options like the incredible premium surround sound audio system, power moonroof, the premium package, and dynamic stability and traction control. The interior of this S40 is in very, very good condition. It has Black cloth seats which look fabulous and have really nice contrasting white stitching details for a sporty appearance. The dash is trimmed in walnut wood which is very handsome. The car has the "premium sound system" 325 watt Alpine audio system upgrade which sounds excellent, features 14 speakers including a center channel speaker in the dash. It also features Dolby Pro-Logic Surround Sound. It has a 6 Disc CD Changer in the dash, and a, 325 watt alpine amp, and very high quality speakers by any measure. Since it's an 07, it also has an aux input jack for your MP3 player or phone. 2007 is the first year for this feature. This is one of the best sounding factory car stereo systems on the market. There is a cup holder that accommodates two beverages. This Volvo has dual front airbags, as well as front side airbags, and curtain airbags for the front and rear seats. It also features Volvo's WHIPS Whiplash protection system. The S40 is the first model to feature Volvo's "floating" center stack. The center console is not completely connected to the dashboard, so there is a nice illuminated storage area behind the console. Personally, I use it for gloves and a tin of altoids in my own Volvo. The owners manual set is also there. The exterior of this S40 is in remarkably good condition and is titanium gray in color. This is a metallic medium gray color which is actually fairly rare on the S40 model. Along with the black interior, it looks great, and is easy to keep clean. The exterior of the car is actually in very nice condition, and there aren't any major flaws to note. The car has no accident history at all. The 16 inch alloy wheels are in good condition. Overall, I feel that this car is a fantastic combination of the economical 2.4i non-turbo model with manual transmission, while still having quite a few options to make it look and feel like the turbocharged model. I love how it's configured! The tires are all matching and are in great shape -- Nearly new, in fact. The brakes are in good shape and the car stops as it should. The legendary 2.4 non-turbo 5 cylinder engine runs flawlessly and is very smooth. With the configuration of the non-turbo engine and the 5 speed manual transmission, this Volvo will definitely run forever and ever. This is a proven engine and has a legendary track record of being incredibly reliable. This car will have no trouble exceeding any mileage you throw at it. As was mentioned above, these cars rarely have mechanical issues, and this is definitely a car that you could purcahse with the intention of putting hundreds of thousands of miles on the odometer, and it's a car you can count on owning for a long time! Those that know Volvos know that around 1% of Volvos sold in North America are fitted with a manual transmission. There are several benefits to this. Manual transmissions provide for better fuel mileage, faster, more direct acceleration, a more fun and sporty driving experience, and reduced repair and maintenance costs. |

With affordable shipping to anywhere in the world, it is now easier than ever to find exactly the car you want at a price you like. Since you're bidding, or making an offer, on a car which you may have not seen in person, it is important that a level of trust be established between you, our customer, and us, the dealership. This is why we post between 30 and 60 high-resolution images of every car we sell on ebay. We pride ourselves in having the most detailed, highest resolution images on ebay, and we use the finest photography equipment in order to catch even the smallest details of the cars that we sell. In addition, the description above provides a comprehensive walk-around of the car including the interior, exterior, and mechanical systems. We even will fill you in on any previous maintenance that we've performed. Regardless, all cars that we sell have been thoroughly checked for safety by our in-house master technician. In addition, we road-test every car we sell very extensively before offering it. If there are any issues with the car that are present, they will be mentioned in the auction. Because we road test the cars extensively, it is possible that the car may have more miles on it than when the auction was listed. We always encourage you to come check out the car in person before bidding or making an offer. If you are too far away to do this, there are several inspection services that can review the car, or we can take the car to a local garage of your choice for a pre-purchase inspection.
Please note that a $250 deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction. This deposit can be made by contacting us directly and can be paid by credit or debit card over the phone. This allows us to speak with you person-to-person which allows us to fill you in on the process and fine details of the transaction, as well as lets you know that we are real people who are committed to making the process of purchasing your new car as easy and painless as possible. Buying a car should be fun and exciting, not a chore. The balance is due within 7 days via Certified Check, Money Order, or bank wire transfer. We can also accept credit cards and personal checks for full payment with prior authorization. Simply contact us before bidding or making your offer to let us know that you plan on paying with one of these methods so that we can let you know about additional terms that apply. Non-paying buyers will be reported to ebay. We charge a $255 dealer services fee for all transactions. This fee covers any
additional paperwork service, overnighting of paperwork, and dealer prep. We can provide a temporary cardboard plate for out of state customers at no charge. Pennsylvania residents will need to pay sales tax between 6% and 7% depending upon your county of residence. There are also Pennsylvania fees for the registration, title, and license plate (unless you bring your own plate to transfer).
Inexpensive used cars are not at all the same as a brand new car, or certified pre-owned vehicle. They are in no way flawless, or perfect. As noted above, we try our absolute best to disclose any issues which may be present on the car, however a car's condition is somewhat subjective and opinion based. Where door ding may be considered perfectly acceptable on a 10 year old car, it would never be acceptible on a car which is brand new. Also, on higher-mileage used cars, it is important to remember that virtually any mechanical or non-mechanical component can fail at any time. We cannot predict what components will fail in the future, or when they will fail. This is simply the nature of older higher mileage used vehicles. The best that we can do is assure that the car is operating properly at the time of purchase. This car is sold as-is, and we cannot be held responsible for any mechanical or non-mechanical failure. Additionally, because we do not know the inspection requirements of other states, we cannot guarantee that this vehicle will pass any out-of-state inspections.

You know what we haven't posted in a long time? A very weird, car-related video. It's high time we address this failing. As strange videos go, this one is truly bizarre. The two-minute clip focuses on the Volvo V60 R-Design, although you're not going to be learning anything about the car. Instead, you're going to be focused on the weird narrator (and the cat decals on the windows). It's like someone taught the Swedish Chef to speak English, but with a ridiculous accent and a script that's been fed through Google Translate. The result is a weirdly cerebral voice speaking in a manner that borders on gibberish mixed with information about the car. We're particularly fond of, "In accordance with Volvo tradition... the car... is... of course... furnished, with an inside." "Floor bibs," in reference to the floor mats, was an office favorite, as well.

Out today is the news that Geely Holding will acquire controlling interest in British sports car maker Lotus Cars. While some 20 years ago the Chinese acquisition of a British automaker might have inspired grumbling from aggrieved Brits (and the handful of Lotus enthusiasts), the world has moved on. And so – thankfully – can Lotus. To suggest Lotus' business history has been checkered is to broaden the definition of "checkered." With its beginnings in the early '50s as a maker of component cars for competition, Lotus founder Colin Chapman – in a manner not unlike his postwar contemporary, Enzo Ferrari – was always hustling, living a hand-to-mouth existence in the production of road cars to support a racing program. Regrettably, Chapman never found a Fiat, as Ferrari did toward the end of the 1960s. Lotus had Ford in its corner for racing and as a resource for powertrains, and later benefited from the corporate support of both GM and Toyota for relatively short periods. Lotus Cars, however, never enjoyed the corporate buy-in that would have allowed Chapman to race and let someone else build the cars. Regardless of what Consumer Reports or Kelley Blue Book might have thought (if they had ...) about those early Lotus cars, a great many are now regarded as classics. My first knowledge of a production Lotus was when Tom McCahill, the 'dean' of automotive journalists in the US, tested an early Elan for Mechanix Illustrated. While we're still not sure, some 50 years later, how McCahill's XXL frame fit into the tiny roadster, he had nothing but praise for the Elan's athletic chassis and now-timeless design. In today's Lotus portfolio, the Elise and Exige continue that light, athletic tradition, while the larger Evora seems to strike wide – literally and figuratively – of the "less is more" ideal. With the Toyota-powered Evora, more is more. But in an eco-sensitive era demanding more of the original Chapman mantra – add lightness – there's little reason that Lotus can't regain relevance if given the financial resources. Geely's acquisition of Volvo, the fruits of which appear regularly not only in the news but on the streets, suggests the Chinese investment will provide strategic vision (along with money) while allowing Lotus talent to do what it does best: Create an exciting product. And while at various periods in its history the product has been worthy, Lotus in the US has been ill-served by a flailing dealer network.
