I am a business professional and just started a new role with my company that provides me a company car. As such, I need to sell my babied, impeccably-maintained, never-seen-salt 2005 Volvo S40 T5. It is the top-of-the-line model with the Volvo's tried-and-true 2.5 Litre 5-Cylinder engine with 218 Horsepower and 236 Lb.-Ft. of torque. I average 25 MPG (combined city and hwy.). The car has a silky-smooth shifting 6-speed manual (super hard to find) and a clutch that's in great shape. The car was purchased brand-new at Volvo of Houston and has always been serviced at Volvo of Houston and Volvo of Dallas.
--- THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN SMOKED IN ----
FEATURES:
- Leather that is glove-soft and in excellent condition (a couple VERY minor blemishes)
- Sunroof
- Dual Climate Control (driver and passenger can set totally separate A/C or Heat Temps...my wife and I LOVE this!!!)
- Factory Xenon HID Headlamps and Fog Lamps
- SUPER COOL FEATURE: All 4 Windows Can Be Rolled Down Using the Remote Control From Inside Your Home or Office (to cool off interior before you get in)
- Volvo Premium Sound with 6-disc in-dash CD Changer and a 10-Speaker Sound System
- Stereo Controls on Steering Wheel
- Power Driver's Seat with 3 Memory Settings and Power Passenger Seat
- One-Touch Up and Down on all four power windows (with high-end 3M tint...tint on driver's window has a small scrape at the very top that is not visible with the window rolled all the way up or all the way down)
- Trip Computer that shows real-time gas mileage and number of miles until gas tank is empty
- Volvo SmartKey with built-in key fob
- One-Touch, 3-Blink Turn Signals for lane changing
- Side Marker Turn Signal Lamps on Outside Rear-View Mirrors
- Headlight Washers
- Factory Security System Automatically Arms & Disarms when doors are locked and unlocked
- 17" Factory Alloy Wheels (minor curb rash on a couple of the rims)
The car has always lived in TX and never seen salt. It has a clear title and is in as mint condition as any used car I've seen with glossy original paint, a ding-free body, crystal clear headlight lenses and an interior that looks and smells virtually new (there are a couple small dings in the aluminum trim by the stereo).

Sunday Drive: An automotive flavor for every taste
Sun, Feb 25 2018Last week was flush with interesting new vehicle debuts, led by the new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. This crossover is entering straight into the heart of one of the world's most competitive automotive segments, and it's doing so with a fresh sense of style and a brace of new technologies. Our readers are clearly intrigued – the Santa Fe was the biggest news story of the last week on these online pages. It's fitting that a crossover generated a lot more interest than a traditional wagon, though we don't really have to be happy about it. Still, the completely new, fully redesigned Volvo V60 is worth taking another look at. First of all, it's pretty, in a traditionally Scandinavian way. Second, it's quick, with a 0-60 time of as little as 4.8 seconds. And finally, it's practical, with all kinds of room for cargo without the dynamic penalties of an unnecessary lift kit. Moving on from new vehicle debuts, we took another long look at the Honda Ridgeline. It's definitely a non-conformist pickup truck, based not on a body-on-frame platform but on a more carlike unibody design. That means it can't tow as much as some other trucks, but it also means the Ridgeline drives better than any of its more truckish competitors. It's the Swiss army knife of pickup trucks. Rounding out our coverage from last week are three sets of spy photos, each showing the interior of a hotly anticipated new model. One is a truck, one is a crossover, and the last is a sportscar. All of them are worth another look. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog this week for all the most important news in the automotive world. 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe unveiled 2019 Volvo V60 | Sleek, swift new twist on the Swedish wagon 2018 Honda Ridgeline | Pocketknife pickup is up for anything 2019 GMC Sierra interior looks just like the Silverado's 2019 Cadillac XT4 interior has actual buttons, no more touch-sensitive panel 2020 Porsche 911 992 spy shots show interior and manual transmission Cadillac GMC Honda Hyundai Porsche Volvo Truck Crossover Wagon Luxury Performance Sedan hyundai santa fe
Volvos will brake for bicyclists with new detection technology
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Anyone who pedals a bicycle knows that one of the biggest dangers to riders is a motorized vehicle - Volvo estimates that nearly 50 percent of all cyclists killed in European traffic have collided with a car. In the United States alone, 618 riders lost their lives in bicycle/motor vehicle crashes in 2010, and the number of injuries surpassed 52,000.
To help drop those numbers, Volvo has just announced Cyclist Detection with full auto brake - a technology that detects and automatically applies a vehicle's brakes when a cyclist swerves in front of a moving car. The basic components of the system include a radar unit integrated into the front grille, a camera fitted in front of the interior rear-view mirror and a central control unit. The radar is tasked with seeing obstacles in front of the vehicle and calculating distance, while the camera is responsible to determine what the object is. The central control unit, with rapid processing capabilities, monitors and evaluates the situation.
The technology, which will be sold bundled with its Pedestrian Detection and called Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, will automatically apply full braking when both the radar and camera confirm a pedestrian or cyclist are in the immediate path of the vehicle. According to the automaker, the technology will be offered on the Volvo V40, S60, V60, XC60, V70, XC70 and S80 models from mid-May in 2013.
Verizon buys Telogis in connected vehicle market push
Wed, Jun 22 2016(Note/disclaimer: We are owned by Verizon, by way of AOL. This gives us no inside track whatsoever when it comes to news.) With a lot of tech companies and automakers staking their claims in the connected car space, now there are signs that others are looking to move in, too. Today, telecoms giant Verizon announced that it is acquiring Telogis, a California-based company that develops cloud-based solutions for mobile workforces, and specifically telematics, compliance and navigation software used by Ford, Volvo, GM and other car companies, as well as Apple and AT&T. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, although we'll try to find out. Considering that Verizon in 2015 reported full-year revenues of $131.6 billion, the price would have to be very high to be considered "material" and may not be made public for some time, if ever. Telogis in its time as a startup raised a substantial amount of money, just over $126 million in all, including $93 million in 2013, supposedly ahead of an IPO, all from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Back in 2013 when KPCB made its investment (which was the first from a VC firm in the company), Telogis told TechCrunch it was profitable and forecasting revenues of $100 million annually for the year. It's not clear what size those revenues are now, but if it was on the same growth trajectory as before the funding, sales would be around $150 million annually, with profitability, at the moment. Other investors include some very notable strategics: the investment arm of General Motors, and Fontinalis Partners, which also invests in Lyft and was co-founded by Bill Ford, the executive chairman of the Ford Motor Company. Before the acquisition, Verizon actually had a business in fleet management and telematics; in fact, the two companies competed against each other for business from the trucking and other industries. Verizon Telematics, as the business is called, is active in 40 countries. But in a way, Verizon buying Telogis is a sign that the latter may have proved to be the more superior, and the one with the key customer deals.
