You are bidding on a beautiful 2011 Volvo C30 T5 R-Design with 25,125 original miles. I recently purchased the car from a neighbor of ours who is a pilot in the Navy. He and his wife were just transferred to Montana and they needed to sell the Volvo C30. His wife is also expecting there second child so they wanted to get to Montana and purchase a new Subaru Forester for the winters and needed the extra room for the children. This Volvo was his baby. He special ordered the car while he was stationed in Hawaii and had the car delivered to Jacksonville, Fl, where he was then stationed after Hawaii. I have all of the order documents and communication between him and the Volvo factory. The car was delivered to O'Steen Volvo in Jacksonville, Fl where he took delivery of the car. The car has always been serviced strictly at O'Steen Volvo and has every service record from day one. The dealership has a complete service history on the car. All services are up to date including oil changes, tire rotations, etc. The car needs absolutely nothing. The car was always kept garaged and even when he had to fly out of town, the car was kept under covered parking at the airport. The car has always been hand washed and detailed monthly. No one was ever allowed to eat, drink or smoke in the car, The passenger seat has rarely been sat in and the backseat has never been sat in.
The paint on the car is electric silver metallic which is kind of a dark silver of charcoal gray metallic. The paint on the car is in excellent condition and almost perfect. There are a couple of extremely minor bug chips on the lower front spoiler but nothing noticeable at all. The are no other nicks, dings or chips anywhere on the car. The interior is also in perfect condition. There is no wear on any items such as armrest, door panels, shifter knob, steering wheel, etc. All interior items look brand new. The seats are a beautiful two tone dark gray alcantara (suede like) and light gray leather. Also in perfect condition with no wear and no marks or stains of any kind. The carpet and factory mats are also in perfect condition with no wear or stains. Again, this Volvo was his baby and no one was allowed to even get in the car with dirty shoes.
As mentioned earlier, all maintenance is up to date and the car needs absolutely nothing. The wheels are in excellent condition with no damage or curb rash and the tires are all still at least at 50% or better tread depth. The tires were always rotated at every oil change whether they needed it or not. I have all of the original Volvo books, records, order documents, warranty information, etc. for the car. Also have all keys and remote for navigation. The car is the R-Design and has every option available except for I believe the sunroof and power seats. It has pwr windows, locks, navigation, premium sound, pwr folding mirrors, headlamp cleaning, active bending headlights, and even Volvos blind spot information system (BLIS) which includes two small cameras under each side view mirror which alerts you of anything in you blind spot. Kind of a neat and useful system. The car is also a 6-Speed manual which is not an option but is rare to find as most are automatics. If you have any questions or need any further information, please do not hesitate to email me or call anytime on my cell at 321-794-7196. I have changed email addresses so please email me at flflt@hotmail.com as I do not know if the change has gone through yet. Thanks.
The car is currently garaged at our home in Melbourne, Fl. and is available for inspection or test drive anytime, just call first and we can set up a time. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and transportation cost, however, I will assist as much as possible. All sales are final. I am personally selling the car as-is and I am personally providing no warranty, however, the car does have the remainder of the 5 year / 60,000 mile warranty which I believe is transferrable. I will check at the dealership to confirm.
If you are looking for a C30 R-Design, this is probably one of the best there is. This car has been garaged, babied and maintained from day one. I would love to keep this car knowing the history and condition of it and especially after driving it, however, we simply do not need another vehicle as we already have four. I purchased the vehicle from our neighbor for what he owed on it and that is what I have the reserve set at. And for everyone who is going to email me or call and ask what the reserve is, I will tell you that it is under $20,000.00. If you have done any research on these recently as I have, you know that these are selling for around $25,000.00 and up and then you'll have to pay dealer fees and you won't know the full history of the car. So in any event someone will be getting a great deal on a beautiful low mileage Volvo C-30. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

World Car Awards finalists snub American-branded vehicles — except for Bronco
Fri, Feb 2 2024The list of World Car Awards has been whittled down to 10 finalists, but only one American brand — Ford — appears among the remaining nine carmakers for this yearÂ’s top award. The Bronco is there, and it also is balloted as a finalist in the design category. The other categories are performance car, urban car, electric vehicle and luxury model. Each category has five finalists except World Car, which has 10. One brand conspicuous by its absence in any category: Tesla. The winner in each is scheduled to be crowned March 27 at the New York International Auto Show in Manhattan. This year marks the 20th year of the World Car Awards and the partnership with the New York show. The selection process involves 100-plus automotive journalists from 29 countries who vote, as they review and test-drive the eligible vehicles for the 2024 awards. Their journey is captured virtually on World Car TV. If youÂ’re counting, the brands that appear most on the six finals lists are Mercedes-Benz (four times), BMW (also four), Hyundai (three), and Volvo (three). HereÂ’s the full listing. A video clip showing all of them is here: World Car -BYD Seal / Atto 4 -Ford Bronco -Hyundai Kona / Kona Electric -Hyundai Santa Fe -Kia EV9 -Mazda CX-90 -Subaru Crosstrek -Toyota Prius -Volkswagen ID.7 -Volvo EX30 World Car Design of the Year Ford Bronco Ferrari Purosangue Toyota Prius Volvo EX30 Zeekr X 2024 World Electric Vehicle BMW i5 Kia EV9 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV Volkswagen ID.7 Volvo EX30 2024 World Luxury Car - BMW 5 Series / i5 - Lexus LM - Mercedes-Benz CLE - Mercedes-Benz E-Class - Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV 2024 World Urban Car - Abarth 500e - BYD Dolphin - Lexus LBX - Suzuki Fronx - Volvo EX30 2024 World Performance Car - BMW M2 - BMW XM - Ferrari Purosangue - Hyundai Ioniq 5 N - Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid
A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]
Thu, Dec 18 2014Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
2018 Buick Regal TourX vs. wagon competitors: How it compares on paper
Wed, Jan 31 2018To the great joy of auto enthusiasts nationwide, wagons are back! Well, at least there's a few more of them. The latest is the 2018 Buick Regal TourX, which we just had our first drive of and found to actually be quite good with pleasant handling, solid power and plenty of space. But, how does the TourX compare to other cladded wagons? Well, let's dive into the specs and fire up the ol' spreadsheet maker for Buick Regal TourX vs Subaru Outback vs Audi A4 Allroad vs VW Alltrack vs Volvo V60 Cross Country. True, some are from mainstream brands and others are from luxury marques, but Buick straddles both realms, so it's appropriate to look at them all. Of course, there's more to these cars than just the numbers, but they're still important, and in the case of this class of crossover-aping wagons, can vary more than you'd expect. So check out the specs in the chart below, which are followed by more analysis and photos of each. Discover and compare other wagons and crossovers with our Car Finder and Compare tools. Engines and Transmissions When comparing powertrains, the Buick is far-and-away the winner as far as torque is concerned, and is in a nearly three-way tie for horsepower. Its 295 pound-feet of torque is 22 lb-ft more twist than the next-most-grunty Audi A4 Allroad. And in regards to power, the Buick's 250-horsepower engine is only down 6 hp to the most-powerful Subaru and its optional naturally aspirated flat-six, and just 2 hp less than the Audi. At the bottom of the pack is the Subaru Outback with the standard naturally aspirated flat-four, which only makes 174 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. That may not seem too bad compared with the VW Golf Alltrack, which only makes 170 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque, but the VW is much lighter by between 200 and 300 pounds. Transmission-wise, there's quite a bit of variation in the group. The Regal TourX and the Volvo V60 Cross Country rely on eight-speed automatics, all Outbacks use CVTs, and the Alltrack and Allroad have dual-clutch automated manual transmissions with six and seven gears, respectively. But for people that want to shift for themselves, the only option is the Volkswagen, which offers a traditional six-speed manual transmission on the Golf Alltrack. Cargo and Interior Space One of the main reasons to buy a wagon is for the body style's large cargo capacity. And for the most space for things and stuff, you'll want to check out the Subaru and the Buick.
