This 2009 T5 R-Design is in flawless condition! Black with multi-tone leather interior, this Volvo is truly a sight to see.  The only reason I am letting it go is because I am moving overseas – there is nothing wrong with it and it has ever been in a crash.  It has been maintained 100% to the manufacturers recommended maintenance schedule at a Volvo dealership.  I have all of the receipts, records, manuals, etc.  I just took it in for the 67,500-mile service, which includes oil change, brake fluid flush and inspection, and tire rotation.  And I paid extra for a full 4-wheel tire balancing and alignment, and put new wipers on.  The tires have about 11,000 miles on them and are in excellent condition.  I have both factory key sets.

Here are the specs and options:

Preferred Package - Premium 650-watt Dynaudio sound system with 10 speakers and Dolby surround sound, power driver's seat (with memory), leather upholstery, cruise control, and power glass sunroof.

Climate Package - Heated front seats, headlamp washers, rain sensor wipers, and fog lights.

Chasis/Handling - 5 speed automatic transmission with Geartronic manual selection, R-Design Dynamic Chassis Control system for better handling, "Atreus" 18-inch alloy wheels, polished exhaust pipes, and electronic stability control and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution.

Other features - Air conditioning, keyless entry, steering wheel audio and phone controls, Sirius satellite radio, Bluetooth, and anti-theft alarm system.

Added Bonus - I will include the factory Volvo OEM Roof Racks with two Volvo Bike carriers that I bought new from the dealership.  I have all of the manuals, locks, keys, and extra metal fittings that go with.  Also throwing in the fitted WeatherTech floor mats front and rear.

Best of luck!  Feel free to ask questions.  If you want a test drive feel free to contact me prior to the end of auction.  I live on Miami Beach.

Note: Photo's were taken at the Miami Beach car wash... not a chop shop:) I know they look kind of sketchy, ran out of time.

New Volvo ad remembers the joy of rear-facing jump seats

Mon, 19 May 2014

With the rise in popularity of first the minivan and later the crossover as the default family vehicle, there have been about 20 years of children who have missed out on the joy of rear-facing jump seats in station wagons. It means kids today don't know the pleasure to be found in making faces or lewd gestures at other drivers while their parents can't see. Plus, they don't know the slightly nauseous feeling of watching the world pass by in reverse. However, a group of filmmakers look back with nostalgia at this increasingly uncommon automotive feature in a new ad for the 2015 Volvo V60.
As part of its sponsorship of the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, Volvo commissions a team each year to create an advertisement to be shown during the festival. This year's shows how the company's buyers have gone from riding in the back to driving the brand's cars. Scroll down to check out the charming ad, along with some wistful looks at classic Volvo wagons, before the jump seat is forgotten.

Volvo's oldest model earns IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award [w/video]

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

Volvo ought to be tooting its horn over this one. The XC90, an SUV that has essentially been on sale for over 10 years, just captured a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The TSP+ is a new title, reserved for cars that earn "Good" or "Acceptable" ratings on each IIHS crash test.
This is a difficult feat for a new car - Toyota's new Corolla infamously failed to net a Top Safety Pick+ earlier this year - largely because of the new small overlap front tests, which have left many automakers struggling. But Volvo, somehow, was able to conquer the tests with a car that predates the original iPhone by a few years. The XC90 earning a Top Safety Pick+ is like Betty White taking the gold in the decathlon. With Volvo in the midst of working on the XC90's replacement, we're curious to see just how well a more modern version does in crash testing. Take a look down below for the crash test video and a press release from IIHS.

Volvo finds a way to turn body panels into batteries [w/video]

Thu, 17 Oct 2013

One of the problems with designing an electric vehicle is figuring out where to fit the battery pack. Volvo - as a part of a European Union research project - is working on a way around this issue by replacing standard parts with lightweight components that double as batteries on both conventional and plug-in vehicles. The image above shows one such piece on a Volvo S80. While looking like nothing more than a carbon fiber plenum cover, the piece is actually a battery pack that can store and supply enough energy for the car's entire 12-volt power system.
The parts are made by sandwiching super capacitors (which can charge faster than standard batteries) in between layers of carbon fiber. They can then be formed to replace numerous body panels such as the decklid, roof or door panels. Volvo says that the replacing the body panels and batteries with these nano batteries can help reduce the vehicle's weight by as much as 15 percent. It has taken more than three years just to design the batteries, so there's no telling when, or if, we'll ever see this technology used on a production vehicle. Scroll down for a video and press release on Volvo's innovative battery technology.
