2006 Volvo Xc90 2.5t Sport Utility 4-door 2.5l - Very Well Preserved! on 2040-cars
Peoria, Illinois, United States
Thanks for looking at my add. I am moving overseas for work in few weeks and therefore selling my Volvo that I have owned for 5 years.
Bought it at mileage 36k when I moved to the US (at Joe Perillo dealership in Chicago), the car now has ~93k miles on it and still runs great. There were no animals in the car or smokers for the time I have owned it. The car was in no accidents during the whole history, although I did back up into someone at like 2 mph (black car parked diagonally behind me at kiss&fly zone at airport in the dark, I did not see it). Nevertheless, an accident that I believe is shown in the car's history. There was no damage on my car and about $400 repair on the other car (I hit his drivers' door with my rear right bumper). Only repair I had to do about 3 years ago was leaking radiator: coolant was getting mixed with engine oil (oil getting into coolant). This caused thermostat rubber to corrode, therefore the system kept cooling so engine wouldn't reach operating temperature. Had this repaired for about $1800 (full service records are in my car) and since then the car had been running without any problems. No other repairs except regular maintenance and fluid changes. Had this car checked in my shop a month ago and it's all OK - no leaks, no problems with fluids, brakes are at 70% of their life (even though brakes vibrate a bit while braking..the car was sitting for 2 weeks and when I picked up it this started, just few weeks ago), tires are at 20% of their life so will need changing eventually. If there is demand I can have them changed for ~$400 (full price is ~$750) because I have thread warranty and the tires were wearing faster than guaranteed. This would be paid extra on top of the price of the car but it can save you few hundred bucks if you decide to change tires right away (the warranty is only good for me - expires with ownership change). As far as the interior and exterior goes, it's looking VERY good, I have been pretty much the only person using it >>> only the driver's seat had been used. Car would be great for a family - with 3 rows of seats can fit up to 7 people (even though 3rd row is narrow). Has tinned 2nd&3rd row/trunk seats, sunroof, electric seats (only front row), easy to fit 2 bikes in the trunk (taking 2nd and 3rd row seats down). Been parked in the garage most (70%) of the time. Paint has some very light scratches as well as one scratch on the front right bumper, but nothing really visible or worth repairing. If you have any questions please shoot me an email, I am trying to me maximally transparent so now when I'm re-reading, this add may even sound a bit conservative. Truth is this car is in a great shape and was a good servant to me, may use few minor dent repairs that are not worth doing for me (maybe not even for you since engine is OK) but I believe if you invest few hundred (esp. tires) you'll have a car that will look just perfect. It runs great already. Happy bidding! Ondrej |

2014 Volvo XC60 scooped before launch
Fri, 28 Dec 2012A Chinese automotive site has snagged the first spy shots of the updated Volvo XC60, completely uncovered. While the overall profile of the vehicle remains intact, the headlights are heavily revised. Gone are the two-piece units, which featured the separate light strip between the main cluster and the grille. In place now are larger lenses, somewhat reminiscent of those found on the S60 sedan. Also updated is the grille, which gets a little wider to meet the new headlights. The grille receives more chrome, while the lower front fascia has been revised with wider openings. A pair of LED fog lights are pushed way out to the corners.
Out back, the license plate holder gets a bold chrome strip above it, and the recessed exhaust is replaced with chromed, dual exhaust outlets that have been integrated into the bottom of the rear bumper.
Inside, the instrument panel has been revised, with a large, centrally mounted speedo, featuring a digital display in the center. According to reports, this is a similar setup to that of the new V40. As such, it appears that the changes are thoughtful efforts to move the XC60 forward by incorporating the most current Volvo design elements.
Volvo shows glimpses of new Concept C Coupe ahead of Frankfurt [w/video]
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Volvo has released a short teaser video for a concept car that will be unveiled on August 29 ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show. At first glance, it would appear to be nothing more than a few sketches and some words from Volvo design boss Thomas Ingenlath, but at about the 11-second mark, four images are flashed on the screen revealing the true nature of the video - the Volvo Concept C Coupe.
As Inglenlath suggests in the video, this new concept is designed to help bring more excitement to the brand's lineup, and from what we can tell in these strategically captured shots, the company is definitely on to something. While we don't get too much of look from any one angle, the front reveals what appears to be a concave version of Volvo's signature grille and the side shows off a stylish greenhouse. We have to wonder, do these images confirm the identity of the mystery concept car that's been floating around the Internet this week? In either case, our favorite view is perhaps the rear shot giving us a glimpse of the car's name as well as its flat, wide haunches and C-shaped taillights.
Scroll down to watch the whole video, and if you don't have a trigger-quick mouse finger, don't worry. We made a gallery of screen shots showing the four embedded images.
Volvo V40 Cross Country gets the all-wheel drive it deserves
Mon, 29 Sep 2014Want a rugged Volvo wagon? Gothenburg has two kinds to offer: there's the XC crossovers on the one hand and ruggedized wagons on the other. As we reported last month from the unveiling of the new XC90 in Sweden, Volvo plans on offering more Cross Country wagons in the future. But in the meantime, it has upgraded the existing V40 Cross Country with some key enhancements - not the least of which is the long-awaited addition of all-wheel drive.
Powertrain upgrades for Volvo's smallest soft-roader include the new T5 engine (a 1.7-liter turbo four producing 245 horsepower), an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The new powertrain is not only more capable, but also more environmentally friendly than the old T5 it replaces.
The enhanced V40 Cross Country launches in Europe mid-fall before being rolled out in other markets in the following months, but unfortunately the United States is not among them as the V40 is not offered Stateside in any configuration, which is a shame.
