Exterior

The exterior of this Volvo is in good over all shape. The body looks straight and the paint is shiny and bright and looks good overall, but it does show some dings, scratches, etc. The tires are a match set with good tread. There are no cracks in the windshield, but it does show some typical road wear, rock chips, etc. It has the typical scratches/dings/dents/rock chips that you'd expect, that are consistent with age and use on a 2004 wagon, but it still has an overall nice look. Please look over our many pictures and give us a call if you have any questions or would like us to do a walk around. We take over 80 pictures of each vehicle.

Interior

The interior of this XC70 is in overall good shape. The leather looks good overall, but does show some wear and blems here and there. The carpets are in good shape overall, but do show some blems. The headliner has been cleaned and has a good overall look to it. The air blows cold - we ran it for over 30 minutes while taking pictures. It doesn't appear to have been smoked in as there is no odor of such. It has the typical light scuffs, blems, etc. that you'd expect on a used vehicle, but it still has an overall good look to it, and it certainly looks to have been taken care of. Mechanics

This Volvo starts right up and idles fine and has good power and acceleration and drives straight down the road. It has a good solid feel to it. Brakes feel good. We’ve inspected, serviced and detailed it and it’s ready to drive wherever you need.

Comments

We don't have sales people on our ebay listings, so we don't have the typical 30% to 40% costs/markup associated with such, and we don't have huge markups, but feel free to call with any reasonable offers.

Our policy is that we wouldn't put a vehicle up for sale if we personally wouldn't drive across country in it. Each vehicle is gone through before they are offered for sale. We are not selling brand new vehicles, but try very hard to ensure you're getting a great value. We also change the oil and filter before it's sold.

Payment

Successful bidder must contact us within 2 days of the close of the auction, and must submit a deposit of $500 within 48 hours of auction end. Remaining balance is to be paid within 7 days of the close of the auction. We accept Paypal and Credit Cards - Master Card, Discover, Visa, Debit-Cards - FOR DEPOSITS ONLY. For payment of balance, we accept Bank Loan checks, Wire Transfers, Money Orders,/ Cashiers Checks, Company Checks, and Cash. Personal checks will be accepted if arrangements are made in advance. We are happy to work with your bank if you are getting your own financing. We do not take Credit Cards for the entire amount.

Delivery/Shipping

You have two major options for delivery. You can either have it shipped, which we can help arrange, or you can pick up the vehicle here at our location. We regularly pick up people at Denver International Airport (DEN) free of charge and bring them to the lot for pickup, as long as you fly in during our business hours. The airport is about 35 minutes from our store, and is about a $100 taxi fare.

We provide a 60 day temporary permit for every vehicle. This is like a 2-month license plate.

We regularly use a shipping company called Diamond Express Transportation. We have shipped several hundred vehicles with them without a single problem over the last 8 years. Financing

We do not offer any out of state financing at this time. If you are financing a vehicle with your bank, we are happy to email or fax you or your bank a Buyers Order / Purchase Order.

Automakers want to stop the EPA's fuel economy rules change, and why that's a shortsighted move

With a Trump Administration looming, the EPA moved quickly after the election to propose finalizing future fuel economy rules last week. The auto industry doesn't like that (surprise), and has started making moves to stop the EPA. Ford CEO Mark Fields said he wanted to lobby Trump to lower the standards, and now the Auto Alliance, a manufacturer group, is saying it will join the fight against cleaner cars. The Alliance represents 12 automakers: BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, GM, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Porsche, Toyota, VW, and Volvo. Gloria Bergquist, a spokesperson for the Alliance, told Automotive News that the "EPA's sudden and controversial move to propose auto regulations eight months early - even after Congress warned agencies about taking such steps while political appointees were packing their bags - calls out for congressional action to pause this rulemaking until a thoughtful policy review can occur." The EPA was going to consider public comments through April 2017, but then said it would move the deadline to the end of December. That means that it can finalize the rules before President Obama leaves office. The director of public affairs for the Consumer Federation of America, Jack Gillis, said on a conference call with reporters last week when the EPA originally announced its decision that it is unlikely that President Trump will be able to roll back these changes. Gillis also said on the same call that any attempt by the automakers to prevent these changes would be history repeating itself. "These are the same companies that fought airbags, and now promoting the fact that every car has multiple airbags," he said. "These are the same companies that fought the crash-test program, and now are promoting the crash-test ratings published by the government. So, it's clear that they're misperceiving the needs of the American consumer." There are more reasons the Allliance's pushback is flawed. Carol Lee Rawn, the transportation program director for Ceres, said on that call that the automotive industry is a global one, and many automakers are moving to global platforms to help them meet strict fuel economy rules around the world.

2017 North American Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year entries announced

Over 40 vehicles will compete for the 2017 North American Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year awards. If that name looks a little strange, it's because the competition added a third category. In years past, pickup trucks, crossovers, SUVs, commercial vans, and minivans competed for the same award. That's why there were occasionally weird comparisons, like last year's competition between the Volvo XC90 and Nissan Titan XD. The new format separates pickups and commercial vans into the truck contest and CUVs, SUVs, and minivans into the utility competition. A complete list of eligible vehicles is below, but here are a few highlights. For one, the entire list of entries has a luxurious lean. Of the 43 vehicles, nearly half of them are from premium brands. There are two eligible Bentleys – the Bentayga and Mulsanne Â– the Rolls-Royce Dawn, Jaguar F-Pace, Audi Q7, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS-, E-, and S-Class Maybach. The performance ranks are lofty, too, with the Audi R8, Acura NSX, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Mercedes SL- and SLC-Class, Porsche 718, and F-150 Raptor. The mainstream entries are just as comprehensive. From the Chrysler Pacifica to the Chevrolet Cruze to the Fiat 124 Spider to the Mitsubishi Mirage, NACTOY has covered an enormous price range with this year's contestants. Of course, these are only the eligible vehicles. They'll need to run through three rounds of judging, starting in September at NACTOY's traditional Hell, MI, test drive. The Canadian and American journalists involved in the judging will announce this year's nine finalists Â– three in each category Â– on December 6. Volvo Trucks makes some pretty strong brakes

Often dashcam footage from Russia shows some of the worst driving imaginable, but this is an exception. The Volvo truck driver in this video definitely earned himself a drink or two at the end of the day after making it through this potentially horrific crash. As do the folks at Volvo that engineered those brakes.
The truck driver shows some fantastic reaction time as the silver hatchback suddenly pulls out of an intersection. It looks like he only has a few yards to bring the behemoth to a stop before demolishing the little car. While it's an impressive feat, the best part of the video has to be the driver's bow when he gets out of the truck. He looks like a maestro who just finished conducting a symphony asking for a round of applause.
