2002 Volvo V70 Xc Ocean Race Cross Country 5 Door Wagon With Awd on 2040-cars
Trenton, New Jersey, United States
LIMITED EDITION 'OCEAN RACE' CROSS COUNTRY RUNS GREAT LOADED WITH OPTIONS!!!!!
This is a really good looking car that runs great, is luxurious, and full of safety features. The interior is leather and in really good condition. This was a new car trade and it is obvious they kept it clean. There are some scratches and a few small dings on the side doors of the car, looks like something scraped along the sides (just guessing, maybe a shopping cart?) There are all weather mats in the car which have done a good job of protecting the carpets. Overall this car has a lot of eye appeal. We ran it through our shop and decided to do a full routine service...we replaced the Timing belt, and also replaced the Water Pump while we were there. Did an Oil and Filter change, and made sure all fluids were clean and full. Who ever buys this car can drive away with confidence. All the tires have 50% or better tread on them, and the brakes have 50% life left on them. The transmission and engine work as they should and the AWD has no issues. As to safety there are multiple air bags and features in the auto, all the manuals are there and describe them all. This model is also known for its excellent braking. As an added bonus...there is a brand new coolbox still in the box which is included in the deal. The coolbox was an option for this auto, it fits in the center space of the rear seat (instead of the cushion) and plugs into an aux jack. it's actually a mini refrigerator, great for road trips. 2015 Volvo Inscription models get classy with an upgraded leather interior
Thu, 17 Apr 2014If Volvo's recent spate of cool-looking concepts is any indication, the Swedish brand has some great new styling on the way. But it takes time for new vehicles to come to market. In the meantime, Volvo is livening up some of its interiors with an updated Inscription Package on the 2015 XC60 (pictured above) and S80 debuting at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
The Inscription models see mostly interior improvements with Sovereign Hide leather covering the seats and more leather for the instrument panels, seatbacks, center armrests and embroidered headrests. Inlaid wood acts as decorative trim, and there are plush, new floor mats. Exterior changes are limited to the choice of colors, namely Crystal White Pearl, Electric Silver and - exclusively for the S80 - Ember Black. The XC60 Inscription comes with 20-inch, ten-spoke wheels, and the S80 receives 19-inch versions.
The package's changes are fairly small, but it adds a certain amount of opulence to the models until the new Volvos are ready. Scroll down to read the full details about them.
US could get Chinese Volvos soon, possibly Geely joint-venture subcompact?
Tue, 28 Jan 2014After a little more than three years since Volvo was acquired by China's Geely, it was only a matter of time before products from this marriage started to show up in the US. Although nothing seems to be written in stone, Automotive News is reporting that the US could be getting Chinese-made Volvos sooner rather than later.
In speaking with AN, Volvo CEO Hakan Samuelsson said that Chinese Volvos could be exported to the US "fairly quickly," and while there was no word on any specific models being considered, the article points out that the S60 (shown above) is already being produced locally in China at a Volvo plant. Another possibility is the next-gen V40, which has reportedly received plenty of support from US Volvo dealers. Regardless of which model it is, Samuelsson doesn't seem too worried about a "Made in China" car receiving a negative reaction by US consumers, pointing to all the other Chinese products sold here.
On a global scale, AN is also reporting that Geely is working on a new subcompact platform co-developed with Volvo to compete against cars like the Honda Fit, Ford Fiesta and VW Polo. There is no word as to whether or not this Geely-branded model would be coming to the US, but just last year, we heard that the Chinese automaker is looking to break into the US market by 2016.
Wagons make a bit of a comeback, with new models, sales on the rise
Thu, Jan 10 2019Consider this an official invitation to hop on the wagon bandwagon. There's still tons of room because, well, it's a wagon (and market share is still extremely small). But according to new data, the segment is growing. According to a report from Bloomberg, using data from Edmunds.com, roughly 211,600 Americans purchased wagons in 2018. That is technically down from the 237,600 sold in 2017, but wagon sales in the U.S. are up 29 percent from where they were five years ago. It's also the third year in a row that wagon sales broke the 200,000 mark. The sales trends have been somewhat representative of the availability of wagons. New models have debuted during the past 5 years and therefore offer more opportunity at more brands to buy wagons. In addition to more modest cars such as the Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen, several luxury and performance brands are offering wagons today, such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, Volvo and Buick. (Bloomberg's headlines make the point that "crossovers are for the Kardashians," and wagons are just, well, classier.) This uptick in brand-name availability, as well as extremely well-executed design on most of the wagons currently available, has helped increase the segment's desirability. That, and its ability to better accomplish the same tasks at hand while standing out from the crossover and SUV crowd. Still, the posted numbers represent a small fraction of the total vehicles sold. According to the data, wagons only held a 1.4 percent market share in 2017, the segment's best recent year. Wagons hold a steadfast place in America's past, and they're writing an interesting new story. With the downturn in traditional cars, they may continue to create an unexpected narrative.
