1998 Volvo V70 T5 Wagon 4-door 2.3l For Parts Or Repair, Clean Title! on 2040-cars
Hedgesville, West Virginia, United States
FOR SALE: One 1998 Volvo V70 T5 Automatic Vehicle has a clean WV title, and is in need of a new driver door and ignition switch. Vehicle is being sold as-is for parts and does not come with any actual or implied warranty. I received this vehicle as part of a trade in non-running condition and am selling it as-is The interior and body of this car are in decent shape, the seats do not appear to have a single tear, everything that I inspected so-far are in good working order and are ready to be used or transplanted into another vehicle. I received this car and was told that the vehicle had an issue with sparratically shutting off and failing to start, I planned to troubleshoot and fix the problem, and as I was unloading the car off the trailer it rolled backwards and caught the trailer with the door and severely bent the driver's door and crushed the interior panel as well as pinning and injuring my leg. Since that accident last week, I have lost all drive to wish to repair it and am selling it as either an entire parts vehicle or as a project. Buyer is responsible for pick-up or delivery costs by a third party. I may be able to deliver vehicle depending on distance and weather permitting for an additional fee Potential bidder and subsequent buyer is welcome to schedule inspection of vehicle before purchase Once inspection is complete and sale is completed, no return or trade will be issued. Upon completion of sale, the buyer will be required to put down a $500 deposit within 24 hours and vehicle must be picked up within 3 days with the remaining cost of the vehicle as cash in-hand. If the vehicle is not picked up within the 3 days, a non-paying bidder complaint will be filed and the vehicle will be relisted. Upon complete payment, the vehicle must be picked-up within 7 days or the vehicle will incur a storage fee of $10 per day. After 15 days of storage fees, the vehicle shall be relisted at the sole discretion of the buyer unless explicit long-term arrangements are made. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, and I will answer as promptly as possible. Thank you! |

Volvo C30 Polestar Concept hits the 'Ring
Mon, 05 Aug 2013It's been over three years since the Volvo C30 Polestar Concept was unveiled, driven by journalists and, as it turns out, lapped around the Nürburgring with Scandinavian Touring Car Championship driver Robert Dahlgren behind the wheel. For whatever reason, the video of the 'Ring track session was only published by the tuning company yesterday. (Another discrepancy: Did Polestar's C30 lose 46 horsepower somewhere along the line? Because the video states that it has 405 hp, while the company's website quotes 451 hp...)
Whatever the case, the tuned Volvo is a beast, much more so than the similar-looking, 250-hp 2013 Volvo C30 Polestar Limited Edition that was sold last year. With 451 hp (sounds better than 405 hp, doesn't it?), all-wheel drive, limited-slip differentials front and rear and Öhlins dampers, the Polestar Concept checks all of the right boxes for us.
For some reason, the video, which you can watch below, seems a bit vanilla to us. Perhaps the overly dramatic music takes away from the action and the beautiful sounds of the turbocharged five-cylinder engine?
Comparison test: 2019 Acura RDX vs. compact luxury SUV competitors
Fri, Jun 1 2018Truth be told, if we were to compare the all-new 2019 Acura RDX with those compact luxury crossover SUVs it would most likely be cross-shopped against, you'd be looking at a different list. Even Acura admits that Lexus and Infiniti are the most likely bogies, but with the 2019 RDX, Honda's luxury brand is attempting to attract those customers who think as much with their hearts as with their heads. And for the most part, those folks have been buying from German brands: the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class. So, to show how the new RDX compares to them, Acura actually provided examples of each during the recent press drive along with a Volvo XC60. All were determined to have greater emotional appeal than the last RDX, and we would certainly agree. For, as much as the previous-generation RDX made sense on paper, it was really hard to get excited about it. And when you're paying extra for a luxury vehicle, shouldn't you get a little excited? Well, as luck would have it, Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski and I were on hand in Whistler, British Columbia, for the press launch. We didn't have an abundance of time in each RDX competitor, but in conjunction with our usual comparison chart, our impressions should provide a good first taste of how the new RDX compares. Performance and fuel economy Contributing Editor James Riswick: On paper at least, the RDX is gutsier than its comparably powered European rivals. It also weighs the same or less, which logically should mean it'll be the quickest in a straight line. During my brief drives, though, I'm not sure it really stood taller than the three Germans. It at least matches them for smoothness, which is something that can't be said about the Volvo. Fuel economy is lower than them all when you consider all but the Mercedes come standard with all-wheel drive. It's also worth noting that all the competitors are available with engine upgrades, and unless Acura's forthcoming resurrection of Type S models includes the RDX, it should stay that way. Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski: Line 'em all up in a drag race, and I have a feeling the Acura would squirt away to victory. A good bit of that, though, would be due to its 10-speed automatic transmission, which offers a huge spread of ratios and fires off extremely quick shifts. In the real world, I'd guess fuel economy will be similar across the board, so I'm willing to call that category a draw.
2015 Volvo S60 T6 Drive-E [w/video]
Tue, 08 Oct 2013The Swedes Bend Sixes And Fives Into Fours
With government agency pressures mounting, the auto industry's latest engine and powertrain trends invariably include the cobbling of heretofore eight-cylinder models into charged (either turbo- or super-) six-cylinder models, six-cylinders into charged four-cylinders and so on. And then there's the mating of these downsized engines to fuel-saving automatic transmissions with ratio counts previously reserved for bicycles and semi trucks. Volvo can at last follow suit with the best of Germany and Japan thanks in great part to an $11-billion multi-year investment by its Chinese owners, Geely.
After we survived the recent Frankfurt Motor Show marathon of news and reveals (chief among said bits being the stunning Volvo Concept Coupe), we were escorted by the Swedish automaker to the far less frenetic air of southern France to explore the most significant step yet in the company's new life. Volvo's entire movement of new tech is referred to as Drive-E, and it includes these all-new four-cylinder engines we just tested, a new modular architecture called Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) that will first be found under the next-generation XC90, along with a host of other onboard advancements. Think of it as a Scandinavia's version of Mazda Skyactiv, a total-systems approach to developing more efficient yet more sporting new models.
