This is a good daily driver. There has been a repaint at some time before I purchased the car. It is fair but the engine bay and door jams were not sprayed.

The motor is the original B30A with twin Zenith-Stromberg 175CD. The motor runs well, it does need some adjustment to the manual choke for improved cold starts.

The 3 speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission is, well, the 3 spd BW and a little doggy. The transmission likely needs work but has not let me down. I drive the car 50 miles daily.

New tires (5,000 miles) on rare 780 Bertone series wheels. I do have the original steel wheels and caps included with car.

The interior is original. The previous owner had the leather seats reconditioned and re-dyed. The carpet has also been re-dyed. Overall the interior is in good shape for 44 years. All dash gauges and components work. The Original volvo radio in place and functional with the exception of being able to tune the lower end of the dial.

There has been some body work in the past. I suspect body filler on the rear quarters. I do not have the history however. The car is registered with the Swedish 164 Registry - additional historic information on the car may be available with some detective work.

I have owned the car for a year and enjoyed daily use while my '72 164E w/ M410-OD has gotten it's rebuild. I had originally intended to restore both cars but that option no longer seems practical and I am not willing to scavenge parts from this car.

Volvo confirms V60 Sportswagon engine lineup for US

In addition to revamping its entire 2014 lineup, Volvo has already promised us that we'll be getting the V60 wagon early next year, but now the Swedish automaker has confirmed that sexy wagon will go on sale in January. If that's not good enough for you diehard station wagon models, there's even better news: An available R-Design model will be the "fastest and most powerful wagon in Volvo history."
The V60 R-Design will have a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine under the hood producing 325 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. Other engines available in the wagon will include the company's well-regarded turbo inline-five along with a new turbo inline-four wearing the Drive-E name. Volvo says Drive-E can "offer the opportunity" to add electrification, but there's no word as to whether or not the US will receive a V60 plug-in model. Also not yet released are fuel economy, vehicle specs and pricing. More information about the V60 and its powertrains are available in the official press release posted below.

Sweden's Prince Carl Philip to race for Volvo in STCC

Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte has it good. He is a member of the Swedish Royal Family, he dates a model and he has been voted by Forbes as one of the "20 Hottest Young Royals." If that were not enough, he is a fairly successful racecar driver. The latter has earned him a spot on the Volvo Polestar racing team for the Swedish Touring Car Championship. The prince will be piloting a race-spec S60 in the 2013 STCC campaign.
Starting in 2008, Prince Carl Philip began competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup, where he placed as high as 11th. In 2010, he finished first in the Porsche GT3 Endurance competition, and most recently, he placed fourth in the 2012 Swedish GT GTB.
As his motorsport career up to this point suggests, the prince is quite serious about racing and the STCC is the next step up. According to Prince Carl Philip, "There is no tougher championship in Sweden and at the same time as I have respect for it, it motivates me greatly." Ex-Volvo boss Stefan Jacoby to head GM's international operations

He was too talented not to surface somewhere, we just didn't know where and when. Nine months ago, Stefan Jacoby stepped down from his post as Volvo CEO, a move that caught many off guard. At the time, the separation was called "amicable," but word is that the strong-willed executive clashed with owners Geely and the automaker's board.
Jacoby will have a new set of challenges on his hands, as he has just been named Executive Vice President Consolidated International Operations for General Motors. That means the Hannover-born Jacoby will head up the company's operations in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, where he will be responsible for over 100 countries and territories. Jacoby succeeds Tim Lee, who has been named chairman of GM China. Lee will also retain his post as Executive Vice President Global Manufacturing.
Jacoby's dealings with Geely should help him in his Asian market duties, but he also counts time as the head of Volkswagen of China on his resume, so he's very well-versed in the market's peculiarities.
