For sale is a 2001 Volvo S80, loaded with luxury features like Heated seats, Sunroof, Leather seats, Dual zone climate control etc. The car runs smooth with strong engine and transmission. All maintenance done on time. It was my commuter car with all highway driving. Non smoker, clean.

THE GOOD:
All new front and rear Struts and Shocks.
All new brakes and rotors (all four wheels and parking brakes too)
Timing belt and water pump was just replaced six months ago.
Tune up done 3 months ago with 6 new plugs and synthetic oil change and filters. Transmission fluid was also flushed.
New Control arms and tie rods.
All new tires with alignment done 3 months ago.
No Check engine light or any mechanical problems.
Unlike the turbo, this non-turbo version is free of trouble and easy maintenance.

The bad:
A/C works well when recharged, but leaks some place. You can drive it till the next summer before needing A/C, dual zone heat and seat heaters works great.
Driver leather seat is cracked and torn, I put a cover to make it look nice. Rear leather seats are ok.
Info screen shows seat belt related errors, but that doesn't affect the working. It just needs the dealer to reset the error, happened because I unplugged the wire connector under the seat accidentally while vacuuming.

Bottom-line it is a great reliable car that will last many years without needing anything. I have replaced almost everything that you can ask for. I was planning on keeping it for a long time, but ended up buying a new car. My loss your gain. If you have back problem or simply need a comfy reliable car, this would be a great pick. You are getting a once used to be 40,000 dollar flagship car for super cheap name your own price. I can answer all your questions. Car sold as is, No warranties. Please don't bid if you don't have the means to pay or come pickup the car. I will only ship the car if you can arrange the shipper to pick up on a weekend. Thanks.

Volvo-based Futuricum electric truck sets Guinness range record

Mon, Sep 13 2021

There is a new Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by an electric truck on a single charge. Swiss-based firm Futuricum built a Volvo-based delivery truck that drove for 683 miles on a closed test track. Although the prototype used to set the record has reportedly been in regular service on Swiss roads since early 2021, the record was set on a 1.7-mile high-speed oval operated by Continental near Hanover, Germany. The truck set off with a full charge and coasted to a stop 392 laps later; two drivers split their schedule in 4.5-hour shifts. Reaching the 683-mile threshold took about 23 hours, so the truck traveled at an average speed of 31 mph. Futuricum calls this a realistic average value for the truck's intended use — it's certainly not designed for long hauls. Whether it was empty or loaded with cargo wasn't specified, and we've reached out to the company for more details. What we do know is that the drivetrain was not modified, meaning the 680-horsepower truck is equipped with a 680-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. That's over six times bigger than the battery in a Porsche Taycan. Driving at a constant speed on a closed track is very different than delivering parcels in real-world conditions, which is what the Futuricum truck normally spends its days doing. In more normal use cases, the model (whose speed is electronically limited to about 55 mph) has a driving range of around 250 miles, according to the manufacturer. Volvo shows off 345-hp S60 and V60 Polestar

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

We showed you the hot, new Volvo V60 Polestar a few months back and raved about the fact that this long-roofed family car can hit 60 miles per hour in just 4.9 seconds. Now, we're seeing it and its four-doored brother, the S60 Polestar sedan, in person for the first time.
As we told you when the V60 Polestar was unveiled, both cars are motivated by a 3.0-liter, turbocharged six-cylinder that generates 345 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, with peak twist arriving between 2,800 and 4,750. Power is channeled to a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system via a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and launch control.
Both Polestar models benefit from a suspension that features Öhlins shocks, while they ride on 20-inch "bespoke" wheels. Six-cylinder Brembo calipers clamp down on 14.6-inch rotors in front, meaning these Volvos should come to a stop as quickly as they get going.

Apple announces CarPlay in-car iPhone interface

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

Apple, maker of tech items like the iPhone, iPad and Mac line of computers, is extending its reach into the automotive market, making a fairly big announcement ahead of the Geneva Motor Show. No, it hasn't bought Tesla (yet). Instead, Apple has announced CarPlay, an all-new means of controlling an iPhone through your car.
Now, this doesn't strike us as some gimmicky thing. It's become increasingly common for automakers to take advantage of the high-speed data streams its customers enjoy on their smartphones in order to integrate navigation, traffic, audio and other infotainment items into a car's touchscreen interface. The Chevrolet Spark and Sonic are two prime examples of this move, using an iPhone's data stream for Siri integration and data for a third-party navigation app.
Owners will be able to plug in their iPhones to their cars via the USB port and gain control of a number of the device's functions, all through a car's touchscreen.
