1999 Volvo S80. The body is in good condition as shown in the pictures. Sunroof. It has a newer paint job and there are no scratches that I can see. It has 17" black and silver rims and 178k. No tears or rips in the seats. It didn't have a radio when I got it. It has heated leather seats and the air worked fine. I didn't check the heater. I just bought this car on the 13th of March and in the process of driving it home the motor threw a rod. That's what it sounds like anyways. It does turn over but I wouldn't recommend driving it anywhere but onto a trailer. If you need it for parts or have a way to get another engine ( I found 3 on eBay for less than $800), then come pick her up. I paid $2700 for it and the KBB value is listed right at $3000, (with engine of course). The short time I did drive it, it drove very smoothly. Was going 80 on the interstate and you couldn't tell. If you have anymore questions, please email me.

The car should not be driven!
Sold as is.

Volvo's oldest model earns IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award [w/video]

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

Volvo ought to be tooting its horn over this one. The XC90, an SUV that has essentially been on sale for over 10 years, just captured a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The TSP+ is a new title, reserved for cars that earn "Good" or "Acceptable" ratings on each IIHS crash test.
This is a difficult feat for a new car - Toyota's new Corolla infamously failed to net a Top Safety Pick+ earlier this year - largely because of the new small overlap front tests, which have left many automakers struggling. But Volvo, somehow, was able to conquer the tests with a car that predates the original iPhone by a few years. The XC90 earning a Top Safety Pick+ is like Betty White taking the gold in the decathlon. With Volvo in the midst of working on the XC90's replacement, we're curious to see just how well a more modern version does in crash testing. Take a look down below for the crash test video and a press release from IIHS.

Ex-Volvo boss Stefan Jacoby to head GM's international operations

Fri, 02 Aug 2013

He was too talented not to surface somewhere, we just didn't know where and when. Nine months ago, Stefan Jacoby stepped down from his post as Volvo CEO, a move that caught many off guard. At the time, the separation was called "amicable," but word is that the strong-willed executive clashed with owners Geely and the automaker's board.
Jacoby will have a new set of challenges on his hands, as he has just been named Executive Vice President Consolidated International Operations for General Motors. That means the Hannover-born Jacoby will head up the company's operations in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, where he will be responsible for over 100 countries and territories. Jacoby succeeds Tim Lee, who has been named chairman of GM China. Lee will also retain his post as Executive Vice President Global Manufacturing.
Jacoby's dealings with Geely should help him in his Asian market duties, but he also counts time as the head of Volkswagen of China on his resume, so he's very well-versed in the market's peculiarities.
