This Volvo sedan has been in our family since purchased new in 1999. Key features:

1. This car has NEVER seen a Vermont winter; it has lived its entire life in Connecticut and was not driven during Connecticut's rare snow events. Therefore...there is no rust...anywhere.

5. When I brought it to VT 2 weeks ago I had our local Volvo certified mechanic inspect it and repair and replace any wear or maintenance items that he identified. Therefore, the car has a brand new timing belt, serpentine belt, left front control arm, right front sway bar link, and new front brake hoses. Spark plugs have been replaced and the right axle seal was leaking so the axle and the boot were replaced. The tires were rotated and the front end aligned. Total receipts in the last 3 months: $2700.00

6. I have the carfax report available for review confirming that this car is as presented.

7. Additional items: Interior shows well except for driver's seat that has separated at the seam. Front tires have 50% tread wear remaining, rear 25%. There are a few scrapes and dings as expected for a car of this age. There were two separate incidents early in the car's ownership both of which occurred when the car was parked (another car backed into it while parking); the driver's side rear door was dented and the right rear quarter panel was dented. Both were repaired professionally and are virtually invisible.

8. All accessories operate as installed; AC blows ice cold, all power windows work, radio plays, and cruise control functions. The engine and transmisson perform flawlessly.

This car should give another 150,000 miles of reliable service assuming normal maintenance.

Jeremy Lin's new Volvo has him working out with the XC60

Jeremy Lin rose to prominence as a point guard for the New York Knicks in February of 2012 when he came out of nowhere to lead the team to a string of victories. Volvo was quick to notice and signed him as the company's US spokesperson that March. Since then, he has starred in several Volvo advertisements, and his latest ad shows just how he uses his Volvo XC60 to train for the court. The highlight is Lin shooting free throws out of the sunroof.
Since leaving the Knicks, Lin has lost some of the visibility and hype that attracted Volvo to him in the first place. Still, commercials must be made, so check out Lin's latest below.

Man convicted of spying on truck maker Scania for the Russians

STOCKHOLM — A Swedish court on Wednesday sentenced a 47-year-old man to three years in prison for spying for Russia, which involved selling secret information from truck maker Scania. The court said it had found the man guilty of acquiring and selling the secret information from the truck maker to a Russian embassy official. The court acquitted the man of similar espionage charges at Geely-ownedÂ carmaker VolvoÂ Cars. "To be convicted of espionage, it is required that Sweden's security can be damaged if the information benefits foreign powers," the court said in a statement. "The district court has ruled that this is the case with regard to the information that the man obtained from Scania, while it has not been proven that this is the case with regard to the information from Volvo." The court statement said the man regularly received cash at his meetings with the Russian embassy official, which it considered was compensation for the information provided. The man, who has denied wrongdoing, was apprehended whilst meeting the diplomat in a restaurant, having just received 27,800 Swedish krona ($3,242). He worked as a consultant for VolvoÂ Cars in 2016 and 2017 and for Scania in 2018 and 2019, until he was arrested. The man's lawyer said he would appeal. Scania is owned by truck maker Traton. Volvo planning Golf rival, 'breathtaking' C60 coupe

Despite just having refreshed nearly its entire portfolio, Volvo is still in the middle of a big product offensive. Vehicles like the C30 hatchback and C70 convertible have been given the axe, but a brand-new platform is being developed in addition to the Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA) that will underpin larger vehicles. According to Automobile, this means some very interesting newcomers may be on tap for the brand.
Volvo, in collaboration with Geely, is said to be working on a new platform about the size of a Volkswagen Golf that will likely spawn both a sedan and hatchback. Automobile reports that while the automaker's new scalable architecture is quite flexible, it cannot be stretched (or rather, shrunk) to accommodate a smaller vehicle.
Instead, SPA will be used for the company's larger offerings, starting with the V40 on the small end. (Though to our eyes, the current V40 looks plenty Golf-sized to us.) A new XC40 is apparently in the works, as is an S90 flagship, and new versions of the XC60, XC90 and S60 will all be coming based on this new flexible architecture.
