For sale is a super clean 2001 Volvo
S60. I bought this car for my son. When I did, I put in new front axles
(both sides because CV boots were cracked and leaking), new brakes and
rotors, upgraded front brake calipers on all 4 wheels, and did the B4
servo cover, Mobil 1 transmission fluid full replacement, and had the
software on the transmission upgraded. I put a new I also tinted the
windows. The interior is nearly showroom clean and perfect with no wear on the leather or anything. It's very impressive inside. The exterior has nearly no marks whatsoever. It's truly the cleanest car I've seen for a 2001. I'm
not aware of any existing issues with it. Every feature on the car
works. The heated seats, heater, air conditioner, and every single
option is solid. I had
this vehicle fully inspected prior to purchasing it because it was indicated that it was in a wreck. The
original repair facility indicated that the body damage was nominal and
did NOT damage the frame in any capacity, thus the reason for the clear
title. All genuine Volvo body parts were used in replacing the damaged
parts. As it ended up, my son didn't love the car as much as I did so I've been driving it and I bought him a different one. I
have 2 different sets of wheels and tires for it. I put Bridgestone Potenza re92 205/55-16 on the 16" wheels that are now on it. The other set are directional 17" tires on 17" factory wheels (pictured
in some of the full view pics before the tint was done). You can choose
which set you'd like. I'll tell you that the 17" factory wheels and
tires rub when turned to the full stops (ALL Volvo s60s do that per the
Volvo forums that I've read) and the 16" don't ever rub no matter how
hard you turn them. The
transmission occasionally does the classic s60 flare shifting but very
rarely. I drove the vehicle to Las Vegas from Boulder, CO and to Iowa a
couple of times, including in the last couple weeks, without any issues.
I'd take this on a trip anytime and anywhere. When on a trip, I'm getting 36 MPG! When in town, I'm still getting 28-32 depending on how much traffic I'm immersed in. This
vehicle really is a find. I have owned several Volvos and I love this
one. The ONLY reason I'm getting rid of it is that I'm a big truck guy. I
just purchased a Suburban. It fits my needs much better. I don't have
garage space for my big truck and my son's other car (also a Volvo
S60). The
current mileage is 124364 but it's climbing slowly as I do still drive
this car because it gets such incredible fuel economy. Please
hit me up with any questions you might have. I can pick up any buyer
who is flying in. The nearest airport is Denver, CO (DEN). Let's get
this vehicle a great new home. Happy Bidding! On Nov-05-13 at 13:52:01 PST, seller added the following information: I also put in new upper and lower engine mounts. I bought the upgraded IPD mounts and installed them myself. If I think of anything else, I'll add those details as my brain engages on them. |

Volvo uncovers widespread cheating by its Chinese dealers
Tue, 26 Mar 2013According to a report in Reuters, the findings of an internal investigation conducted by Geely-owned Volvo is that its Chinese dealers vastly overreported their sales numbers in 2011, then even more vastly underreported their 2012 sales figures. About "half the dealers" out of the 151 total outlets gamed the system in order to get incentives for reaching volume objectives, falsely recording about 7,000 more units sold than was actually the case. Instead of 47,140 cars sold in China in 2011, the real number should have been 39,871.
Volvo corporate books a sale once it ships a car to a dealer, so that meant there were 7,000 more cars in inventory than there should have been. To restore the balance, the dealers underreported their 2012 sales while they unloaded those extra cars since, naturally, they couldn't claim the sale again. That made it look like sales declined by 11 percent in 2012, even though they actually increased year-on-year. The adjusted sales number for 2012 totalled 45,896.
Volvo has met with its dealers and told them to stop the deceitful practice. The discrepancies weren't so great that the company plans to restate its historic numbers, but from now on, it apparently plans to occasionally check inventory to make sure the numbers match and that it has a true picture of how individual models are selling.
The first trailer for Top Gear's 24th season shows a hands-free drag race
Tue, Dec 27 2016In the excitement over Amazon's new motoring show, it's important to remember that there's a certain series from the BBC that's attempting to get its mojo back for a 24th season. Yes, we're talking about Top Gear. Since Chris Evans' departure earlier this year, Top Gear news has been relatively sparse, particularly as The Grand Tour and its hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond seized headlines. But on Christmas, watchers of the series' YouTube channel caught a glimpse of the first scene from the next season. Featuring hosts Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, and Rory Reid in what looks like a trio of old, dilapidated cars. We're thinking TG is running a taxi comparison. There's a London black cab and a Mercedes-Benz W210 – a favorite of European cabbies – but we aren't sure where Harris' boxy wagon fits in. Did the Volvo 850 Estate ever serve as a livery vehicle? But it's the basis for this comparison that's weird, because the hosts appear to be having a no-hands drag race. The cars veer off in different directions, traveling across what looks like a snow-covered dirt lot. We're assuming hilarity ensues. And while we don't quite know what they're hoping to accomplish, we are looking forward to watching it go down. Top Gear's 24th season doesn't have an official air date, and the video ends only with a cryptic "Coming Soon." Expect to hear more in the next few months.
