I am selling this car because I purchased a newer one.  This vehicle has very high miles but still runs good, I would trust it to go anywhere.  Here is a list of things that are wrong with the vehicle:

-Has a small oil leak from the turbo return line.  I have the O-ring to fix it.  It doesn't leak very much maybe a quart every thousand miles.
-It needs a new hub on the rear for the ABS to work. There is a few teeth missing for the sensor so the computer throws a code.
-Drivers seat has a lot of wear.
-Sometimes the engine has a miss until it warms up.  It may need a new coil pack or spark plug wires.  I installed new spark plugs in September.
-Needs exhaust work.  The pipe on the middle muffler/resonator came off.  I would just take it to a custom exhaust place and have them do away with the middle muffer with a straight pipe.
-Needs a new inside door handle.  A rod became bent and broke the plastic clip on the door handle.  I fixed the rod inside the door but it still needs the door handle.  I have a pair of locking pliers hooked to the rod right now.
-It needs a new bumper cover, the one that is on it is cracked.  It also needs a fog light unit.  I have one but it is not on the car.  The other one was gone when I got the car.
-It only has one key and no remotes.  This is all I got when I bought the car.  Car has keyless entry if you buy new remotes.
-Transmission shifts smooth but sometimes has a little vibration from 3rd to 4th.  It probably needs a new transmission mount.
-Gas gauge works but it tells you that you are empty when you still have two gallons left.  This can be fixed with an adjustment to the float in the tank.  This car has an access to the fuel pump and sending unit underneath the rear seat.  You don't have to drop the tank to fix the gauge.  You can find a guide on the internet on how to get the gauge to be more accurate.  I can find the guide if you need me to.
-Sometimes the thermostat sticks open and the heater isn't has hot as it could be.  The plus side, the engine runs nice and cool.  It doesn't cost very much for a new Thermostat.
-No owners manual but it is free on Volvo's website.
-I had an aftermarket stereo in the vehicle, the factory one needs a code to get it to work.  You have to call a dealer, give them the VIN and they will give you the code to make the stereo work.  The radio worked fine before I took it out but it has a security device, when it looses power you need the code.
-Has a very small dent on the front passenger fender near the hood.
-Small crack in windshield on the far right of passenger side.  Not in drivers view and doesn't hinder state inspections.
-"Check engine" light is on because of the misfire mentioned above.

The good:

-It has all new motor mounts.
-Has synthetic engine oil.
-Engine sounds good and is very reliable was driving it 100 miles a day with no problems.
-A/C still works.
-Besides the front bumper, the body is in real good shape.  It has a very small rust spot on the front fender, that's all the rust that I can see on the whole car.  Undercarriage is in really good shape.
-Nice looking car for the age except for the front is chipped up.  Paint isn't perfect but still looks decent.
-New flex pipe installed.
-New spark plugs.
-Sunroof works and has no leaks.
-All power windows and heated seats work
-Clarion front door speakers installed.
-Nonsmoker.
-No smoke smell in the interior.
-Seatbelt in cargo area to hold items.
- 25-26 MPG
-Current PA inspection until next summer.
-New washer pump motor.
-Engine has plenty of power and transmission doesn't slip.
-Has tow hitch installed.

Kelly Blue Book in Fair condition is 2138. With a little bit of work, this would make someone a nice car.  I can send you more pictures of the car via email.

I AM SELLING THE VEHICLE AS/IS.  I HAVE LISTED ALL THAT I KNOW THAT IS WRONG WITH IT BUT THEIR MAY BE SOMETHING I HAVE MISSED.  IF THE CAR FAILS ON YOU IN ANY WAY, I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE.  I WILL NOT SHIP THE VEHICLE.  THEIR IS NO INSURANCE ON THE VEHICLE SO I CAN NOT ALLOW TEST DRIVES.

Dealers mobilize to protect their margins from automaker subscription services

Fri, Aug 24 2018

Six individual auto brands — Lincoln, Cadillac, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW and Volvo — have established or are trialing a vehicle subscription service in the U.S. Three third-party companies — Flexdrive, Clutch and Carma — run brand-agnostic subscription services. And three automakers — Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and General Motors — have also launched short-term rental services. Dealers, afraid of how these trends might affect their margins, are building political and lawmaking campaigns to protect their revenue streams. So far, three states are investigating automaker subscriptions, and Indiana has banned any such service until next year. It's certain that those three states are the first fronts in a long political and legal battle. Powerful dealer franchise laws mandate the existence of dealers and restrict how automakers are allowed to interact with customers to sell a vehicle. On top of that, Bob Reisner, CEO of Nassau Business Funding & Services, said, "Dealers and their associations are among the strongest political operators in many states. They as a group are difficult for state politicians to vote against." In California earlier this year, the state Assembly debated a bill with wide-ranging provisions to protect against what the California New Car Dealers Association called "inappropriate treatment of dealers by manufacturers." One of those provisions stipulated that subscription services need to go through dealers, but that item got stripped out when dealers and manufacturers agreed to discuss the matter further. In Indiana, Gov. Eric Holcomb signed a moratorium on all subscription programs by dealers or manufacturers until May 1, 2019, to give legislators more time to investigate. Dealers in New Jersey have taken their campaign to the state capitol, asking that the cars in subscription programs get a different classification for registration purposes. Automakers run the current subscription services and own the vehicles. Sign-ups and financial transactions happen online or through apps, leaving dealers to do little more than act as fulfillment centers to various degrees, with little legal recourse as to compensation amounts when they're called on to deliver or service a car. That's a bad base to build on for business owners who've sunk millions of dollars into their operations.

Gimp Pimp and Aqua Volvo at 24 Hours of LeMons | Car Club USA

Tue, Mar 22 2016

Car Club USA heads to Sonoma, CA where the Gimp Pimp Cadillac and Aqua Volvo will take on all the crazy, sub-$500 competition at the 24 Hours of LeMons endurance race. "Over the last 30 years, car racing has gotten extremely serious and extremely expensive and it just seemed like there was a real need to make it accessible again," said LeMons founder Jay Lamm. The result is a series of endurance races across the US and Australia where all you need to join the fun is a junky car and some basic safety equipment. "It's just fun, compared to pro racing," said Wendy Epstein, driver of a 1979 Volvo 242 in bright "Aqua Volvo" livery. "24 Hours of LeMons is a form of racing that is designed to be cheap and easy, and anybody can do it," said Bill Manfroy, driver of the Gimp Pimp, a 1996 Cadillac SLS with some important modifications. "Part of what makes the Gimp Pimp Cadillac so special is that it does have hand controls, so it gives access to people like me that ordinarily get to race." "Which makes it perfect for LeMons." Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. Car subscription services: A slow, expensive start — but the potential is huge

Wed, Dec 26 2018

Americans are used to paying for subscriptions — to magazines and cable television, for instance — but experience shows they'll cancel when the price of admission gets too high, or there are more tempting alternatives. Cord cutters ditched nearly 1.5 million pay-TV subscriptions in 2017, according to a survey by Leichtman Research Group. Cable TV started out cheap with basic offerings, and then got expensive. The auto industry's subscription offerings are new, but they're starting out costly, and not price-competitive with traditional leasing. The upside is that they take the hassle out of car ownership for busy people by letting the service take care of maintenance, insurance, licensing and taxes. And they give consumers choice, often allowing relatively painless switches between different cars in the automakers' lineup. Subscription services also point the way toward an ownership-free auto experience, and offer an easy transition to a potential world where ride- and car-sharing will be dominant. Subscriptions are here to stay, but consumers may take a while to "get" them. Lincoln's subscription service for lightly used 2015 to 2017 models, offered through the Ford-owned Canvas beginning this year, got off to a slow start. Many early subscribers canceled. Last month, Cadillac announced it would " temporarily pause" its $1,800-per-month Book subscription service for "adjustments" as of December 1. According to the Wall Street Journal, "Snags with the back-end technology used to support the service made some customer-service functions tedious and time-consuming, adding costs for the company." The challenge for automakers is to come up with a strategy that offers consumers a compelling, affordable option to regular ownership, and one that can also make a profit. I think they'll find that sweet spot, but they're not there yet. Jack Nerad, former executive editorial director at Kelley Blue Book and author of " The Complete Idiot's Guide to Buying or Leasing a Car," points out that "A lot of people expected that subscriptions would be very valuable for people who wanted inexpensive transportation, but the reality is quite the opposite. Subscriptions are offering more choices for the wealthy.
