I am a business professional and just started a new role with my company that provides me a company car.  As such, I need to sell my babied, impeccably-maintained, never-seen-salt 2005 Volvo S40 T5. It is the top-of-the-line model with the Volvo's tried-and-true 2.5 Litre 5-Cylinder engine with 218 Horsepower and 236 Lb.-Ft. of torque.  I average 25 MPG (combined city and hwy.). The car has a silky-smooth shifting 6-speed manual (super hard to find) and a clutch that's in great shape.  The car was purchased brand-new at Volvo of Houston and has always been serviced at Volvo of Houston and Volvo of Dallas.

As I had planned to keep this car for many more years, I recently spent $1,200 on a new timing belt, tensioners etc...(at Volvo of Dallas), over $600 on a new set of Dunlop Direzza performance tires and several hundred dollars on new shocks and struts (drives and handles like a brand-new car).

--- THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN SMOKED IN ----

FEATURES:
- Leather that is glove-soft and in excellent condition (a couple VERY minor blemishes)
- Sunroof
- Dual Climate Control (driver and passenger can set totally separate A/C or Heat Temps...my wife and I LOVE this!!!)
- Factory Xenon HID Headlamps and Fog Lamps
- SUPER COOL FEATURE: All 4 Windows Can Be Rolled Down Using the Remote Control From Inside Your Home or Office (to cool off interior before you get in)
- Volvo Premium Sound with 6-disc in-dash CD Changer and a 10-Speaker Sound System
- Stereo Controls on Steering Wheel
- Power Driver's Seat with 3 Memory Settings and Power Passenger Seat
- One-Touch Up and Down on all four power windows (with high-end 3M tint...tint on driver's window has a small scrape at the very top that is not visible with the window rolled all the way up or all the way down)
- HomeLink 3-Button Built-In Programmable Garage Door Opener
- Trip Computer that shows real-time gas mileage and number of miles until gas tank is empty
- Volvo SmartKey with built-in key fob
- One-Touch, 3-Blink Turn Signals for lane changing
- Side Marker Turn Signal Lamps on Outside Rear-View Mirrors
- Headlight Washers
- Factory Security System Automatically Arms & Disarms when doors are locked and unlocked
- 17" Factory Alloy Wheels (minor curb rash on a couple of the rims)

The car has always lived in TX and never seen salt. It has a clear title and is in as mint condition as any used car I've seen with glossy original paint, a ding-free body, crystal clear headlight lenses and an interior that looks and smells virtually new (there are a couple small dings in the aluminum trim by the stereo).

I have thoroughly enjoyed this car, which has been flawlessly reliable. It is an absolute blast to drive and handles as well or better than comparable luxury sport sedans.

Call Marc at: 832-741-2433 with any questions you may have.

IMPORTANT NOTE: $500 deposit is due from winning bidder via PayPal within 24 hours of winning auction and total final payment is due to seller within 3 days of winning the auction (via wire transfer or overnight cashier's check).

Seller will happily pick up winning bidder at either of Dallas's two major airports: DFW or Dallas Love Field, but buyer to make arrangements with seller prior to booking travel.

Seller will be happy to assist with shipping the vehicle to your location, but all arragements and costs associated with shipping the vehicle will be the buyer's responsibility (in my experience, the cost to ship inside the continental USA is around $900 - $1,400 depending on distance).  Seller can provide buyer the names and contact information for a couple shipping companies.

I have done my very best to provide as detailed, honest and accurate a description of this vehicle.  It is indeed as clean and well-maintained as you can imagine for a car with 100k miles.

International buyers are responsible for checking on all costs and local market stipulations of importing a vehicle from the USA.

***VEHICLE IS FOR SALE LOCALLY AND WILL BE REMOVED FROM EBAY IF IT SELLS LOCALLY.  ALSO, CAR IS BEING DRIVEN OCCASIONALLY AND MILEAGE MAY VARY SLIGHTLY FROM THAT LISTED***

Honda, Volvo, Lincoln are North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year

Mon, Jan 15 2018

The Detroit Auto Show has officially kicked off, as it always does, with the announcement of the North American Car, Utility Vehicle and Truck of the Year winners. For 2018, those are the Honda Accord, Volvo XC60 and Lincoln Navigator, respectively. The Honda Accord beat out two other finalists, the Toyota Camry and the new Kia Stinger. The Accord stood out for its styling, drivability and standard equipment. The Volvo XC60 came out ahead of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Honda Odyssey minivan. It was chosen for its luxury, ride and value when equipped well. The Lincoln Navigator, a heavily updated model that remained true to the concept car on which it was based, beat the Ford Expedition, as well as the only pickup in the list, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 (which was a finalist for Autoblog's own Technology of the Year Award). NACTOY juror Ron Sessions complimented the "more dramatic update" compared to the Expedition. "With its design now aligned with the Continental, the Navigator becomes an even more important image — and the profit-maker for Lincoln," he said. The NACTOY Awards have been around since 1994. A panel of 60 judges, all automotive journalists, whittle the list down to three finalists in each category before announcing the winners in January. The Utility Vehicle category was added for 2017. Volvo Concept Coupe is a long-legged Swedish GT [w/video]

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

They may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the marque, but Volvo has a long and surprisingly lustrous lineage of coupes in its stable, from the P1800 to the 142 to the Bertone 262C to the 780 Bertone and the recently departed C70. Few of those two-doors have stood the test of time the way the voluptuous P1800 has, a fact the company's designers are apparently keenly aware of. It is that exact model that Volvo says they've drawn upon for this new Concept Coupe, and while the showcar bears little resemblance to the smaller P1800 that inspired it, both cars have a visual grace and presence that has often eluded the brand's grasp.
While not completely ripping up the design language established by the 2001 S60 in 2000, the Coupe Concept is arguably the most radical design statement we've seen from Volvo in well over a decade. Gone is the tone set by the drop-shoulder hood, and in its place is a more flowing, organic look, with the generous proportions of a grand tourer. The concept is a particularly nice piece of work, from its new T-shaped daytime running lamps to its pronounced rear fenders that subtly echo those of the P1800. Interestingly, Volvo informs that the first production model to benefit from this new aesthetic will be the next-generation XC90 crossover - and judging by the teasers we recently saw, this language looks like it'll translate nicely to the CUV's larger shape.
The Concept Coupe is powered by a through-the-road plug-in hybrid architecture composed of a twincharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder powering the front wheels and an electric motor servicing the rears. All-in, Volvo says the system is good for 400 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque.

Turn up your speakers for this Shelby-powered Sunbeam Tiger and friends

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

Most of us are never going to be like Jay Leno and drive a new car every day. However, it's possibly affordable to collect a handful of vintage rides, especially if you look a touch off the beaten path. In recent video, Petrolicious highlights Hans Abrahams, who is doing just that. He has three 1960s, European classics that love to be driven.
The absolute star of the trio is a 1966 Sunbeam Tiger. In the cabin, it has the meaty growl of a muscle car, but outside it has a little of the raspiness of period European cars. Abrahams says its mostly original except for its Ford 289-cubic-inch (4.7-liter) V8 with Shelby parts, producing around 273 horsepower. He says it's a bit difficult to maintain and hard to keep cool, but when you hear it, you know the trouble is worth it.
Next up, is Abrahams' 1965 MGB that is a bit of a monster in its own right. It lacks the Tiger's oomph under the hood, but it's loud enough to blow out Petrolicious' microphone. It's still a very cool little roadster.
