2006 Volvo C70 T5 Convertible

We are pleased to present this very nice Volvo C70 T5. "T5" indicates that this car is powered by Volvo's high-pressure turbocharged 5 Cylinder Engine. Because it is turbocharged, it also allows to excellent efficiency and tremendous gas mileage. It's the best of all worlds. The car also features DSTC which stands for "Dynamic Stability and Traction Control." This helps keep all of that power in check and helps to maintain control of the car in slippery situations, like in rain or on snow or ice. This makes this a true year-round convertible. And then, on top of all that, what REALLY makes this a year-round car is it's incredible power-folding hard top. With the roof up, you can't even tell this car is a convertible. It turns into an absolutely stunning coupe! The roof folds into the trunk in a jiffy, and the whole process is controlled by simply pressing a button. It's an engineering marvel. The trunk can also be used with the roof down, and with the roof up, the trunk is ENORMOUS!

The interior of this C70 is in very good condition. It has quartz Gray leather   seats with beautiful walnut wood  accents on the center console. There is also generous use of brushed aluminum around the interior. The hand brake lever is leather-wrapped. The car has the premium audio system with 12 Dynaudio Speakers PLUS two 10" powered Dynaudio subwoofers which are integrated behind the rear seat. The audio system in this car will literally blow your face off if you're not careful! The main amplifier is 130 watts by 5 channels, and then there is a second amp which directly powers the subwoofers. It also has dolby pro-logic surround sound processing. The power folding roof functions properly (this is a reliable system. We specialize in Volvos, and we've never seen one have any issues). It is fully insulated and has a complete headliner. It is very quiet, and this car can easily be run year-round. It's no different than the roof on a normal coupe. The previous owner of this car was definitely a non-smoker. These cars don't even come with cigarette lighters, just power outlets. There is a cup holder that accommodates two beverages which convienantly pull out of the centre console armrest. This Volvo has dual front airbags, as well as front side airbags. The side airbags are part of Volvo's SIPS (Side Impact Protection System). Sips is a grouping of several safety features to protect intrusian into the cabin during a side impact. The doors are fitted with high-strength steel door beams, and the door sill openings are designed as such to prevent the door from pushing into the car's occupants. Additionally, the SIPS airbags mounted inside the front seats provide added safety. Speaking of safety, the C70 features Volvo's ROPS (Rollover Protection System). This is a pair of active roll bars which deploy from behind the rear seat if the car's internal sensors detect that it is probable the car will roll over. They deploy in a fraction of a second to keep the front and rear occupants safe. The windshield surround and A pillars also feature strenghtened steel to keep the windshield area from collapsing in a rollover situation. Additionally, the C70 is the only Convertible on the market to feature curtain airbags. The curtain airbags actually deploy out of the doors and expand upwards to cover the side glass and protect the occupant's head in a side collision.

The exterior of this C70 is in stunning condition and has very few dings and scratches. It is Mystic Silver in color which is one of the most popular colors. This C70 features the sought-after bixenon HID gas discharge headlamps which work excellently. This C70 features 17" alloy OEM Volvo wheels which are unusual to see on a C70. We feel they are a great fit for the car. The car has had only two owners since it was new, and both owners serviced the car exceptionally well.

The tires are all in nice shape with very good tread life remaining. The tires are all matching Continentals. The brakes are in  good shape and the car stops as it should. The legendary 218 turbocharged 5 cylinder engine runs flawlessly and is very smooth. The transmission also operates properly. These cars rarely have mechanical problems, and this one runs wonderfully.

This car includes a 3 Month 4500 Mile powertrain warranty at no additional charge. The warranty can be used at any repair shop in the United States, no matter where you live. This warranty covers the engine, transmission, and drivetrain. This is in place in order to provide peace of mind when purchasing a car via the internet. Additionally, this warranty can be adjusted to cover nearly every component on the car, and can be extended up to four years and unlimited mileage. Contact us for details on this affordable upgrade in coverage.

Simply contact us before bidding or making your offer to let us know that you plan on paying with one of these methods so that we can let you know about additional terms that apply.

Non-paying buyers will be reported to ebay.  We charge a $255 dealer services fee for all transactions. This fee covers any additional paperwork service, overnighting of paperwork, and dealer prep.  We can provide a temporary cardboard plate for out of state customers at no charge. Pennsylvania residents will need to pay sales tax between 6% and 7% depending upon your county of residence. There are also Pennsylvania fees for the registration, title, and license plate (unless you bring your own plate to transfer).

Inexpensive used cars are not at all the same as a brand new car, or certified pre-owned vehicle.  They are in no way flawless, or perfect. As noted above, we try our absolute best to disclose any issues which may be present on the car, however a car's condition is somewhat subjective and opinion based. Where door ding may be considered perfectly acceptable on a 10 year old car, it would never be acceptible on a car which is brand new.  Also, on higher-mileage used cars, it is important to remember that virtually any mechanical or non-mechanical component can fail at any time.  We cannot predict what components will fail in the future, or when they will fail.  This is simply the nature of older higher mileage used vehicles.  The best that we can do is assure that the car is operating properly at the time of purchase. This car is sold as-is, and we cannot be held responsible for any mechanical or non-mechanical failure.  Additionally, because we do not know the inspection requirements of other states, we cannot guarantee that this vehicle will pass any out-of-state inspections.

Volvo calls in S60 T5 over oil pressure indicator

Mon, 30 Dec 2013

As anyone with a driver's license should be able to tell you, the oil pressure indicator on a car is a vital feature. If you don't have enough oil pressure, your engine could seize up, leaving you stranded and causing catastrophic damage for both your automobile and your wallet. Worryingly, then, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that the oil pressure indicator lamp on certain Volvo S60 models is prone to failure, prompting the manufacturer to issue a recall.
The issue pertains to MY2011-2012 Volvo S60s with turbocharged five-cylinder engines manufactured between June 22, 2010 and May 14, 2012. All told, precisely 30,929 units are affected by the recall campaign. The owners of affected models will be notified by Volvo to bring in their cars to their local dealer for a software update. See the official notice below for details.

Volvo still undecided on offering plug-in hybrid versions of all models

Thu, 03 Jul 2014

The automotive world is only a few months away from getting its first real glimpse at Volvo's big gamble with the unveiling of the next-generation XC90 (pictured above as the Concept XC Coupe). We're already getting a preview of the revolutionary upgrades with the introduction of the Swede's Volvo Engine Architecture family into some of its 2015 models, like the recently driven S60. These changes are just the start, though. The real magic could be in the powertrains.
Dean Shaw, Volvo Cars North America vice president of corporate communications hinted to Autoblog a few months ago that every model sold in the US could come in a plug-in hybrid variant, starting with the new XC90. Despite confirmation rumors that this has now come to pass, Shaw told AutoblogGreen that the only thing Volvo is confirming right now is that the platform is capable of that. "We haven't confirmed that all US Volvos would be available with PHEV," he said.
Shaw did confirm that that XC90 will come with a gas and plug-in hybrid powertrain that offers "around 400 horsepower." According to Plugin Cars, the new XC90 will be unveiled in August and will make its public debut at an as-yet-unnamed auto show in the fall. Also, sometime during the 2016 model year, a plug-in hybrid variant will be added to its lineup.

Volvo uncovers widespread cheating by its Chinese dealers

Tue, 26 Mar 2013

According to a report in Reuters, the findings of an internal investigation conducted by Geely-owned Volvo is that its Chinese dealers vastly overreported their sales numbers in 2011, then even more vastly underreported their 2012 sales figures. About "half the dealers" out of the 151 total outlets gamed the system in order to get incentives for reaching volume objectives, falsely recording about 7,000 more units sold than was actually the case. Instead of 47,140 cars sold in China in 2011, the real number should have been 39,871.
Volvo corporate books a sale once it ships a car to a dealer, so that meant there were 7,000 more cars in inventory than there should have been. To restore the balance, the dealers underreported their 2012 sales while they unloaded those extra cars since, naturally, they couldn't claim the sale again. That made it look like sales declined by 11 percent in 2012, even though they actually increased year-on-year. The adjusted sales number for 2012 totalled 45,896.
Volvo has met with its dealers and told them to stop the deceitful practice. The discrepancies weren't so great that the company plans to restate its historic numbers, but from now on, it apparently plans to occasionally check inventory to make sure the numbers match and that it has a true picture of how individual models are selling.
