Here is a Volvo Amazon 121 ice track racer from nothern Sweden. The car has a heavily tuned B18B engine with a weber DVGA and an R-cam. There has probably been done some work to the head too, the compression is about 9,5 on all cylinders. The car is low geared ad has a J type overdrive, and I am quite sure it has a locking differential too as it makes wheel spin on both wheels. The car doesnt have a lot of power at low rpm, but pulls hard above 3000. Clutch is very narrow, so is probably a racing clutch. The car has the least rusty body I have seen on a original Amazon for a very long time, even the panels are straight and solid The bottom of the car is rust free too apart from a 4 cm hole underneath the driver seat. The only place that the car ever been welded is the 2 lower rear panels behind the rear wheels. You will need to change the panels that hold the front wings and the two lower pieces behind the rear wheels, I would consider selling the car as parts, let me know your offers on the specific parts. The car is still on swedish papers If you need to see more pictures, feel free to ask. The car starts, steers and brakes as it should, the gearbox works too and has a nice tight feeling to it. I am 100% sure that the car is in its original paint exept for the front and front wings. Heico jacks up Volvo V40 Cross Country to create XC40
Sat, 24 May 2014Because life isn't fair, we don't get the stylish wagon known as the Volvo V40 in the United States. That means we don't get its soft-roading cousin, the V40 Cross Country. So, naturally, if Volvo tuner Heico Sportiv ever produces this ruggedized, XC-styled V40 Cross Country, it most certainly wouldn't cross the pond, either.
That makes us sad, because despite holding a tiny bit of contempt for small luxury crossovers, this is a very, very cool looking vehicle. It's just a render right now, but Heico Sportiv is looking to offer the kit to V40 Cross Country owners who want a smaller version of the Volvo XC60.
Converting a V40 CC into an XC40 would start with some suspension tweaks. The ride height would be raised by just over an inch, in order to improve the looks of the soft-roader and deliver a more CUV-like ingress and egress. New shocks would also be fitted, as well. Wheel-arch extensions were also added to complete the look.
Carmakers, NHTSA to unveil auto-emergency braking agreement tomorrow
Wed, Mar 16 2016Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve. Tomorrow, there will be green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and automatic emergency braking for all. Weird combo, we know. But on St. Patty's we can expect an official announcement from a pact of automakers making auto-braking systems standard equipment by 2022. That's per a report from Reuters, which cites three sources familiar with the plans. Originally announced in September 2015 by 10 automakers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the agreement is expected to be even larger when the details are unveiled tomorrow. According to Reuters, the manufacturers of 99 percent of the US domestic market's vehicles will be represented by the new agreement. It's believed that standard AEB systems could prevent thousands of accidents across the country. Expect more on the official announcement when it's made. Related Video:
