This is a fun and super safe volvo 850 turbo with only 54Kon it!This car was a repo back in 2011 here in kentucky and then it just sat untill i bought it off the impound/car lot and took it to my mechanic in louisville. The car didn't run right and we found out why very quickly, water in the gas tank,so the tank was drained, new fuel pump was put in,along with a new fuel filter. Then the fuel injectors we sent out and re-built with all new o-rings as well.New NGK spark plugs were added along with a new MAF meter. The battery had a new ground wire added and then a fresh oil change. The car runs out amazing now!!!The front brakes were replaced after the first test run and I have driven about 2 full tanks of gas through it and she does just great!all power options work as they should like, sunroof, windows, seats and door locks. The stereo is missing, just the head unit, speakers are all still there.the A/C works and compressor is good but has a leak in one of the lines,i would replace it,$60.The 2 door trim pieces on the pass side are gone,i bought it that way and it wasn"t a concern for me but they are all over ebay. The pass side air bag overlay on the dash is wavy and the glue from the factory has deterorated but doesn"t look that bad.I'm sure some vynl place could reglue it.The title says rebuilt and the car fax showed an accident back in 2002.Looks like it was a fender bender and not bad at,you can"t even tell.Don't let the title fool you, this is a good car, that's why i put alot of money into bringing this rare car back to life! This was your moms car that you actually wanted to drive!!

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.

Volvo studying test of electric roads in Sweden

Tue, 27 May 2014

Volvo already announced the results of a study of wireless charging using a stationary C30, and now it's embarking on a more ambitious study of wireless charging involving moving city buses. Next year, in conjunction with the Swedish Transport Association, Volvo will build a section of electric road up to 500 meters long that would use inductive charging to refill the batteries while the bus drives over it.
Right now, the company's Hyper Bus diesel hybrid has to stop to plug in and charge at the end of its route. The company is looking for a way to keep buses in service while being able to run on electric power for greater lengths of time. The new line used for the study will be called ElectriCity, and will come online in central Gothenburg sometime in 2015. There's a press release below with more information.

The first trailer for Top Gear's 24th season shows a hands-free drag race

Tue, Dec 27 2016

In the excitement over Amazon's new motoring show, it's important to remember that there's a certain series from the BBC that's attempting to get its mojo back for a 24th season. Yes, we're talking about Top Gear. Since Chris Evans' departure earlier this year, Top Gear news has been relatively sparse, particularly as The Grand Tour and its hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond seized headlines. But on Christmas, watchers of the series' YouTube channel caught a glimpse of the first scene from the next season. Featuring hosts Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, and Rory Reid in what looks like a trio of old, dilapidated cars. We're thinking TG is running a taxi comparison. There's a London black cab and a Mercedes-Benz W210 – a favorite of European cabbies – but we aren't sure where Harris' boxy wagon fits in. Did the Volvo 850 Estate ever serve as a livery vehicle? But it's the basis for this comparison that's weird, because the hosts appear to be having a no-hands drag race. The cars veer off in different directions, traveling across what looks like a snow-covered dirt lot. We're assuming hilarity ensues. And while we don't quite know what they're hoping to accomplish, we are looking forward to watching it go down. Top Gear's 24th season doesn't have an official air date, and the video ends only with a cryptic "Coming Soon." Expect to hear more in the next few months.
