1990 Volvo 740 GL.  Virtually Brand New with ONLY 8,012 original miles!  Absolutely beautiful condition in and out.  Color is White with Gray leather interior, Black painted pin stripes.   An original California car sold at San Diego Volvo and has never left.  So new that it still has the dealer “New Car Delivery” tag info attached to the rear passenger door glass as well as the factory tags on the driver’s floor mat and seat adjust handle.  It has Always been garaged.  I acquired it from the 1^st owners’ estate so only 2 adult owners have pampered it with loving care.      

All of the standard and optional equipment is working perfectly.  This is an amazing car in very well preserved condition.  It is super clean from top to bottom and has been professionally maintained, both mechanically and cosmetically.

 Mechanical:

Nothing has been modified mechanically in any way.  It has just been through a complete and rigorous service and detail - sparing no expense to bring everything up to date and ready for reliable, safe, everyday use.  The 2.3 liter I4 provides smooth and ample power.  It feels tightly connected to the road while delivering smooth travel in town or on the freeway.  This car runs and drives as new and the low mileage and professional maintenance are evident from the onset.  The engine fires to life instantly with a smooth idle and maintains proper engine temperature in city or highway driving. The engine accessories turn quietly and work well, with the AC compressor keeping the inside very cold and the alternator keeping the battery well charged. The engine bay is 100% intact and has just had a light detailing. 

Everything needed to achieve its mechanical peak has been done including, but not limited to:  Oil and transmission fluid/filter change, Radiator flush and service, battery, complete brake servicing, new timing chain, R-12 A/C serviced (ICE-COLD!!), all fluids checked and topped off as needed, the chassis and hinges were freshly lubricated, and the lamps, warning lights and interior illumination tested. The undercarriage remains remarkably clean down to the creases and crevices due to never being driven in winter conditions.

The steering is tight and smooth and the suspension is in excellent shape handling all roads with ease and rounding corners with no roll or sway.  The original tires were just replaced (less than 100 miles) due to age with Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires (size P195/65R15) providing an amazing ride.  Factory wheel covers are in great shape with only the slightest bit of rash on one.  The car tracks down the road straight and smooth at any speed. The original unused spare tire has never been removed and the jacking tools are present.  

Exterior:

The original paint is in excellent condition and has just had a full detail.  It has never been involved in a collision of any kind.  There are a couple of minor flaws as would be expected such as very minor nicks or chips, but far less than one would expect of a vehicle this age.  No dents, scratches, or rust.  Nothing has been touched or covered up.  All of the labels and badges intact.  The front headlights/surrounds and tail-light lenses are perfect and free of any sun-fading or cracking as would be expected from being garaged/covered.  The glass and weather-stripping is factory fresh all around.  The gentle care and light use it was given are evident.  The underside is clean and wholly preserved. 

Interior:

The interior is very crisp and new-looking, with the beautiful leather seats showing no holes, burns or tears and zero wear.  It’s never carried any children, pets, or food.  The dashboard is perfect and entirely without cracks or fading, and the switches and controls were used with gentle touch. The headliner has just been replaced with NOS due to sagging in a couple of small areas.  Carpet is as new all around with no fading.  The door panels and door pulls are perfect.  The rear seat is as new with no holes or tears.  Comes with the original set of factory floor mats.  2 have a very small stain on them  (note - driver’s mat still retains the floor mat tag and the “Real Leather” tag still hangs on the driver’s seat adjuster).  The trunk area is immaculate.  Absolutely no squeaks or rattles.
