This one is for all you Volvo enthusiasts out there. It's my 1-Owner 1988 740 GLE with just 53,000 pampered miles. I bought this off of the original owner who paid $23,640 back in 88.
Mechanically this Volvo is solid. Motor fires right up with no hesitation and sounds healthy through all the RPM's. Transmission shifts beautifully through all the gears with no slipping or funny shifts. Tires have about 85% tread left. Drives well down the road. Brakes feel good with no pulsing. Power windows, mirrors and sunroof all work. Has heated seats. Was very well cared for over the years. Cosmetically it's in great shape as well. Body is nice and straight with no door dings. Has a little ding by the front headlight that is pictured. No rust anywhere on the car. Paint looks great from five feet away. From the age, the sun has given the paint a brushed aluminum effect all over. Interior is immaculate. Leather is in great shape as you can see in the pictures. Driver seat has a seam that has come apart on the bottom as you can see in the picture. Smells great inside and hasn't been smoked in. Overall cosmetically this car is in incredible shape for the year and will make anyone proud to own this time capsule. Overall this is a rare Volvo with only having 53k and no rust. Volvo opens order books for XC90 First Edition
Wed, 03 Sep 2014The new Volvo XC90 breaks new ground in any number of ways. It's based on a new modular platform, packs new engines, introduces a new design language and incorporates a whole slew of new safety systems. Even in its sales approach, it takes Volvo into new territory.
In what Volvo calls an industry first, the first 1,927 examples of the new XC90 will be sold online. Those First Edition models, whose production numbers honor the year of the company's founding, will come fully equipped in T6 AWD guise with the twin-charged (but not hybrid) 316-horsepower engine, air suspension, Bowers & Wilkins audio system and 21-inch Inscription alloys, decked out in black with a tan Nappa leather interior, all for $65,900.

Volvo S60 Polestar concept plays in the snow with Mercedes C63 AMG
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Chris Harris took to a snowy stretch of tarmac to get a fingertips-on-the-wheel feel of the Volvo S60 Polestar concept. Harris says the turbocharged sedan with 508 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque - and a manual transmission - is "a study to see if Volvo can get back into the fast-car market." The Polestar S60 concept, one of which was already purchased for $300,000 by a private buyer, is still making the publicity rounds because even Volvo's Chinese owners realize that, as Harris says, "Volvo sold more cars because it made fast cars" like the old 850 T5 Wagon that stormed the British Touring Car Championship in the 1990s.
For reference, Harris compares the blue wonder to the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and its 487 hp and 442 lb-ft. The question is, were Volvo to get the price of a production version of the S60 Polestar to climb way down from its 200,000-pound sticker, could it be worthy competition to the established giants?

Volvo brings a whole new 2014 showroom for Geneva's approval
Wed, 06 Mar 2013Sometimes it takes smaller automakers a bit longer than the industry average to rotate and freshen their product lineups. Volvo has taken a big swing for the 2014 model year in that regard, and has brought along a full product portfolio of new cars.
In the main, this means that the Swedish brand has fast-tracked facelifts for its already-attractive assemblage of sedans, wagons and crossovers. Volvo mainstays S60 and S80 have both gotten appearance modifications to freshen them for dealer lots, as well as added features inside the car. We're particularly happy to report that the spirited "60 cluster" models - S60, V60, XC60 - can now be had with optional paddle shifters on new, three-spoke steering wheels.
