It starts and runs. But it isn't a perfect specimen by any stretch. Engine was replaced about 3 years ago. Recently passed Virginia inspection.
Here are all the flaws I can think of:
Odometer broken
One sun visor hook is broken
Rips in driver seat and smaller one in passenger seat
Fan blower is loud when car is cold
Air conditioning very weak (but heat is strong)
Cracks in dash
Seat heaters may not work
Back hatch doesn't latch (door is so heavy it never mattered to me, but if you worry about the security...)
Dog chewed some upholstery in trunk area
Backseat seats and back don't perfectly match in color
Hood was re painted same color but looks newer than rest of car
Some trim on one side was loose and is being solidly held by duct tape
Map pockets in good shape but are black (not original)

Volvo working on ultra-lux four-seat XC90 for China?
Tue, 09 Sep 2014In China, it's all about being driven. That's why we've seen so many automakers stretch their most popular models to appeal to buyers in the Chinese market. Volvo is certainly no stranger to this, and according to Autocar, the company is already working on a super-lux, four-seat version of its recently launched XC90 crossover.
Volvo won't stretch the XC90 and just increase second-row legroom, however. Instead, the company will reportedly remove both the standard XC90's second and third row benches, and install a duplicate set of front seats in the rear compartment, featuring the same electric adjustment features, including massage. These more luxurious thrones will be placed further back in the vehicle, allowing for "exceptional" legroom, Autocar reports, without needing to stretch the wheelbase.
Mum's the word on when we can expect to see the high-zoot Volvo arrive, though the magazine estimates that it surface later this year.

Volvo celebrates 20 years since 850 wagons came to BTCC
Wed, 30 Apr 2014This year Honda Yuasa Racing brought a station wagon back to the ranks of competitors in the British Touring Car Championship (its drivers currently sit in third and fifth place in the Championship). In 1994, however, Volvo was the first team to run an estate in the series that's one of the best for delivering close racing.
Rickard Rydell and Jan Lammers drove the duo of 850 Estates prepped by Tom Walkinshaw Racing, lining up at Thruxton and proving that the rumors of a wagon in the series weren't a joke. The team used that year for development, getting the 2.0-liter, 290-horsepower, naturally aspirated five-cylinder engine ready for the next year's proper assault. The team's best finish over the 21 races was a fifth place, and they took 14th overall.
Rules changes led Volvo to switch to the 850 sedan the following year, but all the right noises had been made with the wagon. Rydell drive on to a third-place overall finish in 1995, three years later he claimed the Championship title. You'll find details and reminiscing from Rydell in the press release below, as well as the full video with scenes from the glory days.
