Rare six cylinder volvo diesel in good condition and runs like a dream. Krown rust control protected for the last 15 years and other protection since new.. Solid metal, no rust. Complete stainless steel exhaust installed, complete new front brakes, new rear shocks, motor mounts in May have seen very little milage as we have other vehicles. Michelin touring tires have seen very little mileage. Manual sun roof, power locks work like new, manual windows. This car is heavy and comfortable like an old Caddy and built like a tank but the diesel engine is very easy on fuel. Does not use oil between changes. No fancy electronics to malfunction. Selling because it is my wife's car and she wanted something new. This car was not used as a commuter. All existing milage has been country driven which is the reason it's a bit higher but this is a Volvo diesel. The diesel requires very little maintenance unlike a gasoline engine and of course over designed to run indefinitely with regular oil changes and normal maintenance. The interior is a Lille bit worn due to the age but is still in fair condition. The car was repainted about 6 years ago and still looks fair. Some of the bulb covers have the usual cracks. This rare classic automobile just needs to be appreciated and loved by someone. Etest exempt. Selling as is because it is currently not being used and is sitting in a storage garage. |

Volvo V40 Cross Country gets the all-wheel drive it deserves
Mon, 29 Sep 2014Want a rugged Volvo wagon? Gothenburg has two kinds to offer: there's the XC crossovers on the one hand and ruggedized wagons on the other. As we reported last month from the unveiling of the new XC90 in Sweden, Volvo plans on offering more Cross Country wagons in the future. But in the meantime, it has upgraded the existing V40 Cross Country with some key enhancements - not the least of which is the long-awaited addition of all-wheel drive.
Powertrain upgrades for Volvo's smallest soft-roader include the new T5 engine (a 1.7-liter turbo four producing 245 horsepower), an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The new powertrain is not only more capable, but also more environmentally friendly than the old T5 it replaces.
The enhanced V40 Cross Country launches in Europe mid-fall before being rolled out in other markets in the following months, but unfortunately the United States is not among them as the V40 is not offered Stateside in any configuration, which is a shame.
Jaguar turns down offers to join V8 Supercars, questions AMG, Volvo participation
Thu, 27 Jun 2013Rumors have swirled in recent weeks that Jaguar may be the next manufacturer to join the V8 Supercars racing series, made popular in Australia but now well-known in other parts of the world as well. Sadly, Jag's participation is not to be. In fact, it would be "insane," according to Jaguar Land Rover Asia Pacific Managing Director David Blackhall, for it to accept either of the two offers it has received to bring Jaguar into V8 Supercars.
Not only is Jaguar not interested in entering V8 Supercars, says Blackhall, it also fails to understand the recent entries from AMG and Volvo. "I don't know what it does for AMG to get flogged by a V8 Commodore week after week, but it's their brand, their issue. And the same thing will happen to Volvo to be honest."
Judging by Blackhall's statements to motoring.com.au, after not-so-serious consideration, the automaker decided the monetary commitment it would take to compete for wins would be more than any potential exposure would be worth, despite the fact that Jaguar has a 5.0-liter V8 to go along with what would seem to be a tailor-made rear-wheel-drive chassis. For what it's worth, one offer would have had Jaguar putting its name across an engine made by someone else, an option that was flatly turned down.
12-year-old golfer wins Volvo for hole-in-one [w/video]

Natasha Oon, a 12-year-old girl in Malaysia, was recently attending the 40th RSGC Ladies Amateur Open Championship at the Royal Selangor Golf Club with her parents. On a whim, she teed up a shot with her eight iron and scored a hole-in-one. That would have been impressive for a girl her age by any standards, but she didn't see the sign that said making the shot also won her a new Volvo XC60 T5. Not a bad prize for a tween who won't be allowed to drive for at least a few years.
So what does any good 12-year-old do with a CUV? Give it to her parents of course. According to website Paultan, she plans on giving the crossover to her mom and told her, "this is the car that you will use to drive me to school every day."
