Very well maintained, 2-owner Volvo 240.  Just over 60,000 original miles!
Near perfect condition.

I bought this beautiful 240 from the estate of one of my client's family.  They were the original owner.  It was his mother's car and is the classic story of the
car that was only driven to the country club and the grocery store for 25 years.  Otherwise it sat in the garage.  It has all original paperwork, owners manual, and maintenance records
from the dealer. I have both original keys including the original key tag from the dealer. It also has paperwork for all repair work done by previous owner and by me.
These include a new catalytic converter, new muffler and tailpipe, A/C recharge, professionally installed aftermarket stereo,
door hinges and power window switches replaced.  Very clean.  Original rubber floor mats. Leather interior.  Hand crank sunroof works flawlessly with no leaks.
Under the hood is spotless.  Everything is in perfect working order.

I know the odometers on these cars are notorious for failure, but the miles on this car can be verified by looking through the maintenance records.

There are some signs of wear, most of which can be seen in the photos. There are a few small cracks in the dash near the windshield , the arm rest cover cracked last winter, and
the driver's seat shows some signs of wear, cosmetic only.  On the exterior there are a few nicks and dings, most along the passenger side where I assume
it was hit by the door if other car in their garage.  There are a few tiny spots with some surface rust.  The rubber trim on the bottom of the driver's door
is loose.  There are a few nicks in the rubber rear bumper.  These are all small issues that could easily be remedied.

I am happy to answer any questions or send more pictures as needed.

Volvo PV444 turns 70

Sun, 31 Aug 2014

Volvo has made all manner of vehicles over the course of its long history, including coupes, convertibles, hatchbacks, sedans, wagons and SUVs. But the vehicle that started it all was the PV444.
Or rather, we should say, the PV444 is what re-started it all. Because while it wasn't Volvo's first model, it was the first one it produced after the war. Monday, September 1, will mark 70 years since the PV444 first debuted at the Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm pictured above, where the company received 148,437 visitors.
That presentation there took place shortly before the end of World War II when the vehicle wasn't even finished yet. A team of 40 engineers and designers were still fine-tuning the final version, but were eager to show the public what it would start building after the last bullet was fired and peace would return to Europe.

Volvo: Tesla's Autopilot is just a 'wannabe'

Fri, Apr 29 2016

Using the words "unsupervised wannabe" in an interview with The Verge, Volvo's Trent Victor says the Tesla Autopilot is "giving the impression it's doing more than it is." According to Victor, Tesla's self-driving tech is merely appearing to be autonomous because, with the Tesla system, the driver has to be fully alert all the time, ready to regain control. Tesla says its system is Level 2 autonomous, although some experts regard it as Level 3, which means it takes over safety-critical functions from the driver. Volvo says it pays more attention to actual crash avoidance, and that its Drive Me system is Level 4 autonomous, meaning that in the event of a hazardous situation the vehicle will handle the appropriate procedures and bring itself to a halt in a safe fashion. There will be no need for the driver to take action, which is important in case the driver has been incapacitated while the Drive Me autopilot has been controlling the car. Another thing with the Volvo setup is that it monitors the road in case of a conflict situation, or someone suddenly appearing in front of the car, be it a pedestrian or a runaway child. Tesla has never said that its Autopilot is anything other than a beta version under trial usage. It costs $2,500 when you purchase your Model 2 or X, or $3,000 as a add-on once you've taken delivery. The company also just announced that it would offer Autopilot for free as part of a one-month trial. Tesla declined to comment on Volvo's comment. Polestar looking to tune Volvo CUVs

Sun, 19 Oct 2014

Volvo is getting serious about emerging from the fringes and into the mainstream of the luxury automobile market. But if it's going to challenge the Germans, it's going to need a performance line. And that's just what it's developing with Polestar.
Building on the motorsport partnership that has seen Polestar represent Volvo in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, World Touring Car Championship and V8 Supercars series, Polestar has been charged with developing road-going performance Volvos as well. It currently offers comprehensively tuned versions of the S60 and V60, as well as engine upgrades for other models, but the latest word has it that Polestar will turn its attention next to tuning Volvo crossovers like the XC60 and the new XC90, pictured above in top-spec R-Design trim.
Details on how Volvo would modify those models remain to be determined, but it wouldn't be much of a stretch to imagine the XC60 outfitted with similar enhancements to those offered on its sedan and wagon stablemates to mount a challenge to the Audi SQ5. As for the larger XC90, it seems Volvo is already squeezing as much out of its new 2.0-liter triple-charged inline-four as it can, but more aggressive handling, aero and brakes could stand to transform the flagship crossover in pursuit of performance utes like the Mercedes ML63 AMG and BMW X5 M, even if it couldn't quite match their impressive horsepower outputs.
