Please read all of the description than submit any questions....its amazing how many questions i get when the answer is in the paragraphs below.

Okay so here's the deal with this car....
I bought this car locally and the guy i bought it from said it had a "stuck" brake caliper. After taking it for a test drive and seeing that the car was indeed in need of some brake work i purchased it and trailered it  home. I loaded onto my lift and found out it also had a need for exhaust work as well. I replaced the exhaust system from the cat converter all the way back to tailpipe...SO THE CAR HAS ALL NEW EXHAUST.... I then proceeded to fix the "stuck" caliper only to find out that both front rotors and calipers were shot and needed replacing as well as the brake pads. So i did just that. replaced everything down there including the rubber brake lines. SO THE CAR HAS ALL NEW PADS, ROTORS, CALIPERS, AND RUBBER BRAKE LINES. Put everything back together and proceeded to bleed the brakes...and then i did it again,,,and again...and again..no brakes. HMMMM????  Master cylinder is bad i guess....went through two of those and still nothing. Even took it to tire kingdom to get it power bled. (by the way what a bunch ignorant  as***** ) still nothing. SO THE CAR HAS A NEW BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER. I went a step further shelled out another 85 bucks and bought a brand new Brake Booster because i could here a slight hissing sound as i stepped on the brake. Installed that and still got nothing.

Discouraged i parked the car and didn't touch it for six month except to go start it and drive it up and down the road once a week to keep the fluids moving around. Parking brake works good.

Yesterday I went out determined to finally beat this car at its game....battery was dead...okay jumped it and charged it....shut the car off and tried to start it again....nothing but a clicking sound under the glove box...(relay... coming from the big white one under there. I believe its ignition relay?)

Anyway.... I'm Stumped about the brakes... This car DOES have ABS and a was only hoping it was not related. (by the way before i hear any suggestion or questions...yes i did check the ABS fuse under the front passenger seat. It is fine)

If you look at the car you would say "why is he putting so much time and money into this piece of crap?" But if your looking or know anything about Volvo 240's you know that the money and time is a small price to pay for these 300K mile car. THEY ARE FREAKING AWESOME!!!!! and so safe.

The mileage is correct just under 114K.... Nothing..... this thing is still a baby.

Clear SC Title

It has body rust issues (see pics)...nothing that i couldn't fix especially cause there is no frame rust.

It has a small oil leak that i just discovered the other day. maybe real main seal i dont know

The driver door is crinkled, tree side swiped maybe?....got a good white one out of a junk yard that will come with the sale of the car.

Now, the engine runs GREAT...sixty seventy miles an hour down the highway no prob. and the car shifts fine and has plenty of power. And with the new exhaust it is quieter than my wife's new mini van.

Interior is awesome, dirty but in great shape. blue leather....not my favorite but it is in fantastic shape... the dash (which is usually the first thing to go)  is still black as ever and only has one small crack in it. (see Pics) The seats are GREAT.. the driver seat is cracked but that is it...
When I purchased the car the map pockets on the doors where pristine condition until the mechanic at tire Kingdom was kind enough to push my door open with his clumsy fat size 13 boot and broke the driver side map pocket...I have all the pieces after scrounging around for them on his garage floor (he said they it was broken when he started working on the car...BS that is why all the pieces where all over his garage floor....idiot...can't reason with stupid....anyways it can be repaired with a little fiberglass backing... I've done it before on previous 240's that I've owned.

I am selling this car on eBay because i tried to sell it locally but the local demographic apparently don't appreciate the gas saving and general economical aspects of these cars. I'm from New England and every other car up there is a 240. But down here they just want to crush cars. And this car will not be crushed for F****ing scrap metal.

I want to make it clear this car is a project car that will need some love. The brakes are probably something simple however i am so frustrated with the time and money that i can't afford  mentally and financially to keep the car.

If you wanted to fix this car up than awesome but it would also make probably the best parts car in the world though.

Help me save one more 240 from the perilous jaws of a car crusher.

Oh and the roof racks do not come with the sale of the car...sorry

Now for the disclaimer. Please  Read !!!!!!!!

Car is sold as is where is. No warranty written or implied. 50% non refundable deposit of winning bid to be deposited in my Paypal account within 24 hours of auction close. I know this sounds harsh but I've been screwed by eBay and people who buy cars and don't ever pay for them...i still have to pay eBay when they sell. So if your serious than you should have no problems with the above requirements.

Volvo Cars leaps 22% in IPO stock debut — a big endorsement for EVs

Fri, Oct 29 2021

Volvo Cars CEO Hakan Samuelsson at the automakers' stock market opening bell on Friday in Stockholm. (Getty Images)   STOCKHOLM — Volvo Cars shares surged 22% on their Stockholm market debut on Friday after wrapping up Europe's biggest IPO of the year so far, in a boost for new issues markets and carmakers' vision of an electric future. The Gothenburg-based company cut the size of its listing and priced it at the bottom of a previously-announced range UPDATE 3-Volvo Cars gives itself $18 bln price tag as cuts IPO size - Reuters News on Monday, valuing it at just over $18 billion and making it Sweden's second largest listing yet. But the successful deal and strong market reaction — which propels the valuation to about $22 billion — is a lift for a European automotive industry that has embarked on a challenging transition towards electric vehicles (EVs). It also shows that while the euphoria over initial public offerings (IPO) in the first half of 2021 is over, the market is open for new listings of big companies with a story to tell. Volvo Cars Chief Executive Hakan Samuelsson said the listing showed a recognition of its transition plans, adding it would be key for Volvo to demonstrate it is on track to be the "fastest transformer." "There's a much bigger interest in the market to invest in electric car makers than in the conventional ones. So we better do what we said we would," he told Reuters in an interview. Shares in the carmaker, which is majority owned by China's Geely Holding, were trading at 64.70 Swedish crowns ($7.59) at 1057 GMT, after being priced at 53 crowns in the IPO. Polestar Apart from Volvo's commitment to becoming a purely electric carmaker by 2030, it also has a 49% stake in EV venture Polestar, which said in September it would go public through a $20 billion deal. Samuelsson said Polestar had a "good valuation." "They are already electric... showing in a way what the potential would be for Volvo if this (the transformation) is done in the right way." A source familiar with Volvo's transaction said the outcome of this week's IPO was good, even though investors had pushed back and forced Volvo to price at the bottom of the announced range. "The company had to compromise on size and the governance structure. They were hoping for a read across on Polestar, but they were clearly not getting that," the source said, requesting anonymity because they were not authorised to speak to the press.

2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge First Drive Review: EV SUV is petite, potent and unpretentious

Thu, Jul 21 2022

After years of polishing its plug-in hybrid powertrains, Volvo is jumping into the electric vehicle space with both feet. But rather than trying to make an immense splash in the deep end, Volvo elected to start with its entry-level vehicles – the 2023 XC40 Recharge and its mechanical twin, the C40. Fear not. While they may be small, they are charmingly mighty. Volvo was so eager for us to sample the XC40 Recharge that it actually loaned us a 2022 model for the purpose of this writeup after announcing its planned updates for 2023 XC40 lineup. The changes are of virtually no consequence in the context of this review, as most of them serve to catch the standard XC40 up to the Recharge model, which was already equipped with VolvoÂ’s latest goodies, including GoogleÂ’s new Android Automotive infotainment suite. There are some aesthetic updates (ooooooh, new fog light trim!) but nothing truly noteworthy. While the XC40 is meant to appeal to a more crossover-minded buyer, it and the C40 are virtually identical. While Volvo offers pared-down versions of its EV powertrain in other markets, America gets only the “Twin” variants of each, named thusly for their pair of electric motors. Nope, no bargain-priced FWD-only models here. From the $54,645 (destination included) base model on up, you get 402 horsepower, 486 pound-feet of torque and all-wheel drive. It being a Volvo, everything inside is a little bit different (perhaps just for the sake of being so) but without being Saab levels of weird. Take the time-tested process of turning the car on, for example. There isnÂ’t a key nor start button; VolvoÂ’s electrics are just on by default. If youÂ’re in the car and the key is present, youÂ’re live. Put it in whatever gear you like and set off on your way. When youÂ’re done, put it in park, get out, lock the door and, should you need to or want to, plug it in. While that may seem superficially unconventional, itÂ’s fundamentally a very Volvo thing to do. There are those who choose to believe that Tesla deserves credit for normalizing minimalism in car interiors. ThatÂ’s a neat theory, but VolvoÂ’s been doing it better for longer — and not as a disguise for being cheap. Eliminating the on/off switch seems very on-brand for a company whose cabins have long resembled that one section of the Ikea maze where the college kids canÂ’t even afford to window shop.   If anything, the XC40 Recharge and the C40 both lean a little too far in that direction.

2015 Volvo Ocean Race XC60 priced from $42,100*

Mon, 10 Nov 2014

Every three years, a half dozen or so teams of sailors embark on an epic eight-month, round-the-world sailboat race formerly called the Whitbread Round the World Race and known since 2001 as the Volvo Ocean Race. This year's event started a month ago in Alicante, Spain, and will end next June at the Swedish automaker's hometown of Gothenburg. And to mark the occasion, just as it has in years past, Volvo has launched a special edition of one of its roadgoing models.
The Volvo Ocean Race XC60 was launched this weekend at the Miami Auto Show. Based on the XC60 crossover we know well, the limited edition is distinguished by its Ocean Blue II paintjob, unique 18-inch wheels, a choice of black or light leather interior with orange stitching and a series of special badges inside and out.
Buyers will be able to choose between the T6 Drive-E and T6 AWD models, priced from $42,100 and $43,600 respectively. That represents a $1,200 premium over models on which they're based, on top of which, Volvo has confirmed in correspondence with Autoblog, the usual $925 destination charge applies.
