See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"This vehicle is in great condition however there are a few things to mention. We try to list everything, but please note this car is 24 year old:There is a tear in the driver seat at the seam, the plastic emergency brake console is broken, the plastic trim piece on the passenger side under the door is loose and the plastic trim piece on the drivers side is missing, the rear driver's side tail light is missing one clear cover. Not sure if it is a problem or not, but since we owned this vehicle it doesn't seem like the overdrive button on the shifter works, it might, however, I can't notice a shift in the transmission when this is on. It might just be a switch. The odometer does not work. The speedometer and everything else on the dash works. Can't think of anything else. Everything seems like a minor fix."

This is a VOLVO 240 STATION WAGON.  Just inspected, runs super super well! It will need a new a/c compressor, however it does have the updated ac

Power windows, power locks. new Kenwood stereo receiver and front speakers. The Kenwood is blue tooth capable and it works really great with a smart phone or an ipod. It can be used wireless or with a usb cable.   I use it with my iphone for hands free calls, gps and Pandora.  The stereo has built in Pandora functions which is really nice as well.   The heated seats work great.  My wife always wanted an old Volvo like this so we purchased it last year as a third vehicle just for the fun of it..  I would love to keep it.  It really is a solid car and we have had no problems with it.  It is amazing to me  how well and straight it drives.  It is very fun to drive. Reminds me of the 80's when I was a kid and things were simple - like this car!  This car must have been garage kept as the paint is in really great condition for it's age. I was skeptical at buying an old car like this at first, but  I would without a doubt take my family across country in this car with confidence.
Some work we have done to it:  New exhaust system, new alternator, new ball joints and we just put two new tires on the back.  These are really great fun cars.  The extra cash would be nice now so that is the only reason we are selling.  If we do not get at least the starting bid price we will just keep it for an occasional daily commute, or for a Sunday drive.  Email with any questions.
This car is awesome, in very good condition:)

2021 Volvo XC40 Review | What's new, pricing, where it's made, pictures

Wed, May 5 2021

Most subcompact luxury models feel a bit like cheap knockoffs of their bigger, pricier brand mates. The 2021 Volvo XC40, by contrast, is a break from the Volvo norm in a good way. It rides on a different platform from other Volvos, resulting in a small SUV that's a bit more playful to drive, but still possessing the solid, refined feeling one expects from the brand. Its design is more utilitarian and youthful, eschewing luxury materials like chrome and wood in favor of elements like contrasting roofs and more vibrant colors (you can get orange carpet!). Importantly, it's also one of the larger, more versatile vehicles in the segment and provides more features for the money. Basically, it's a desirable vehicle to buy on its own merits in a segment that often feels like you got it cause you couldn't afford something pricier.   And for 2021, it stands out from the crowd even more thanks to the addition of the XC40 Recharge all-electric model. Admittedly, its 208-mile range and overall efficiency are modest, but there are so few alternatives that it still merits consideration, especially for those who intend to stay closer to home. What's new for 2021? The XC40 gets some minor feature content changes, but the big news is the addition of the XC40 Recharge all-electric model (it was supposed to arrive last year). Besides its powertrain, the Recharge gets subtle styling differences and the same Android Automotive tech interface found in the Polestar 2. What's the XC40 interior and in-car technology like? Volvo’s interiors are very tidy and architectural in terms of design, and the XC40 is no exception even if its specific design diverges from the 60 and 90 series norm. ItÂ’s pleasingly simple, using nice materials, comfort and conservative modernism as its foundation. Leather is even standard, though we would like to see an alternative provided, such as the beautiful woven textiles found in Volvos' other cars. Besides its design, one of the ways the XC40 differs from its siblings (and indeed its competitors as well) is its clever center console design. It features numerous large, grippy bins to store, secure and charge devices, plus useful cupholders and a sizable under-armrest bin. There's even a little compartment specifically designed to act as a garbage can. Clearly lots of care and thought went into the XC40. ThereÂ’s a lot of tech baked right in, too, from the standard vertically oriented infotainment screen to the digital instrument panel.

Volvo's next-generation cars will feature gaming-derived graphics

Fri, Jun 3 2022

Volvo joined forces with Epic Games, the company that created the Fortnite franchise, to give its next-generation cars a faster infotainment system with vastly improved graphics. Using technology gleaned from the world of gaming promises to unlock a long list of new features. Don't expect to see a Fortnite-themed display in the XC90's replacement; the partnership isn't going that far. Volvo explained that it will use the Unreal Engine, a real-time 3D creation tool developed for industries outside of the gaming world, to develop the digital interface it will program into future additions to its range. This technology will allow it to deliver richer colors, sharper renderings and new 3D animations. Good graphics aren't worth much if the software is annoying to use, so Volvo will power its next infotainment system with the third-generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms designed by Qualcomm. We're told that the end result is a system that's over twice as fast as the one Volvo currently uses, and whose graphic generation and processing capacities are up to 10 times faster. Volvo hasn't released a video of the software in action yet, but we won't have to wait long to see it: the feature will debut in a new flagship model due out by the end of 2022. This isn't the first time that Volvo has enlisted the help of a technology company to design an infotainment system. Its current cars (like the C40 Recharge) are fitted with Google's Android Automotive OS infotainment system. And, the worlds of gaming and in-car technology have collided before: Nissan notably asked Polyphony Digital, the company behind the Gran Turismo franchise, to design the GT-R's display. Volvo bringing Chinese-built cars to America beginning next year

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

Just because the penetration of the American automotive market by Chinese brands hasn't quite happened yet doesn't mean that Chinese-built cars are far off. According to a new report, we could very soon see long-wheelbase Volvo S60s that were assembled in the People's Republic arriving on US shores.
The report comes from Automotive News China, which cites an anonymous Volvo exec. An official Volvo spokesperson later corroborated ANC's report, although where the original source claimed that we could see the Chinese-built S60L in US dealers at some point in 2015, the company line was that a timeline hadn't been established to begin exports from the world's most populous nation.
According to Volvo, the benefit to exporting from China to the United States rather than from Sweden is the relationship between the US dollar and the Chinese yuan. Overall, it's a less tumultuous issue than the dollar-to-euro situation. By moving vehicles from China to the US, the Chinese-owned company is limiting the degree of risk it's taking with sudden currency swings.
