The vehicle has about 390k on it but it has been very well maintained.  A mechanical restoration was done about 5 years ago at about 340K miles.  The engine was replaced with one from a 93 240 and now has about 175K on it and runs great. The gearbox was completely rebuilt about two years ago (30K ago). At that time the clutch, throw out bearing and pilot bearing were replaced. In addition, a new timing belt and water pump were installed.

The car has many upgrades including:

IPD sway bars front and rear,
Glass Euro head lights,
Custom turbo grille and fog lights,
93 dashboard,
Leather shift cover, sport steering wheel,
Heated seats, heated remote mirrors (not currently working)
Working A/C, which was converted to R134 and includes a new condenser, the larger 93 evaporator, electronics, switching and condenser fan.  It blows cold.
Large tach, oil pressure and volt gauges,
Sony stereo with USB port for Ipod, 6x9 coaxial rear speakers, with Pioneer coax front speakers,
Original plastic floor trays and head-rest covers that match the seats.
Black '93 trim around the windows, side running lights and newer tail lights.
All of the plastic trim was removed for a cleaner look.
Professionally restored Virgo wheels with newer Bridgestone tires.

At about 340K the following was done:
New suspension bushings all around, new gas struts front and rear, new strut bearings, new wiring harness, new blower motor, heater core and heater valve, newer style power steering pump with integral reservoir. New rear axle bearings, new u-joints. New poly accessory bushings.

Last year:
New turbo type exhaust system, new voltage regulator, tune up with IPD ignition wires, coolant change and flush. New front calipers and brakes. Car has ceramic brakes in the rear and drilled rotors all around. New fuel filter and fuel line.  New fan clutch

Defects:
No rust except two smaller bubbles at the top and bottom of windshield on passenger side as shown in the pictures.  The windshield is cracked, but will be replaced before buyer pics up the car.

Small dent in driver's side fender near the front; noticeable, but not terribly unsightly. Small ripple in top surface of driver's door.  The paint is original except for the trunk lid, which was repainted.
Small oil leak from rear main seal,
Front seals are ready to be replaced; seals drive belts and timing belt will go with the car.

Summary:
A great looking, good running, very well maintained car. Engine runs great, transmission shifts smoothly with no unusual noises or vibrations.  Car handles extremely well with the lighter wheels, performance tires and IPD suspension hardware.

Since changing the engine, I've used Mobil 1 and Mann filters for all oil changes at every 4K miles. Redline Synthetic fluid in gearbox, synthetic fluid in rear end.

VW ID.4, the new Buick Envision and crossing Hyundai's N Line | Autoblog Podcast #668

Fri, Mar 5 2021

In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Associate Editor Byron Hurd. It's a review-packed episode this week, but it kicks off with a discussion of Volvo's plans to electrify by 2030 and move their EV sales online. From there, they get into Greg's time with VW's game-changing new ID.4 electric crossover. Byron then talks about his time with two very different new vehicles: the 2021 Buick Envision luxury crossover and the 2021 Hyundai Sonata N Line, which may or may not be a sport sedan. Finally, they tackle a fascinatingly complex twitter question: What is the best 'economy' muscle car? 2021 Volvo XC90 Recharge Road Test Review | I could've had a T8!

Tue, Mar 16 2021

Second thoughts … sometimes even buyerÂ’s remorse. Nagging doubts can follow life's big decisions — and buying a car is a biggie. Was it the right choice? Or as the poet said: "You may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile / And you may ask yourself, 'Well, how did I get here?'" Two years ago, I bought a 2017 Volvo XC90 lease return with 11,000 miles on it. I hadnÂ’t expected to find an XC90 within my budget, but this one was attractively priced because it, A) was a T5, meaning turbo-only; B) had the base Momentum interior; and C) was a third-row delete, which was a turnoff to other car shoppers. Otherwise, it was heavily optioned and seemed like it would serve my family well and keep them safe. And it has. It has lots of room. It drives as well as any medium-large SUV can. The tough leatherette endures the abuse of dogs and kids and the dirt of outdoor activities. The legendary Volvo seats have comforted and supported us, even on a 750-mile day from California to Washington. We've routinely seen highway mileage go past 30 mpg. And the off-road mode was surefooted during last month's nationwide snowfall. The carÂ’s great. And yet, while at the Volvo dealership for complimentary service, sipping the waiting-room coffee and wandering the showroom, you see the cars you could have bought, had you spent more money — a turbo-and-supercharged T6, or the twin-charged-plus-plug-in-hybrid Recharge (previously known by the powertrain's name of T8). And with Volvo's elegant Inscription interiors. Would they have provided a better ownership experience than our secondhand lower-rung model? One doesnÂ’t often get a do-over to answer such questions. But a recent week in a 2021 Volvo XC90 Recharge provided a drive down the nicer road not taken. The differences between a 2017 T5 Momentum and the 2021 Recharge Inscription are many, and also few. They're basically the same car, same dimensions inside and out, same overall feel. Panoramic sunroof, same. Massive cargo hold, same — though because ours lacks the third row, it gains a large secret underfloor storage compartment. Both XC90s have roof rails, but the rails on the new car are flush-mounted versus the '17's raised rails (youÂ’d need different crossbar towers for each).
