1 Owner Volvo 240 Garage Kept " Mint Condition " Low Miles on 2040-cars
San Diego, California, United States
If you are a fan of the Volvo 240's, you will really appreciate the condition of this car. Always garage kept and very well maintained. This Volvo is practically still like new and is all original. The paint is in excellent condition with the exception of a few very minor scratches. These have all been touched up and I have included them in the photos. Some are on the front lower part of the hood, and on the passenger side fender.
The interior also shows very little wear. This car has never been smoked in and is free from any accidents. It has been very well cared for and has been serviced right here in Southern California. It has mainly been used locally which is the main reason for the very low miles. All four tires have less than 300 miles on them, and the brakes are also recently new. The oil has been changed regularly, as well as all other maintenance being up to date. The air conditioning blows cold, and the heater also still works great. To my knowledge the car does not have one mechanical issue. Runs and looks excellent. It has a clean Ca Title ( original from 1984 ) Current California registration ( will come with new Smog certification for California ) Original owners manual and service booklet Original Volvo stereo which works great Original Spare tire and jack kit ( never used ) I can assist with airport pickup from either the San Diego Airport ( SAN ) or if you fly into Los Angeles ( LAX ) it is very easy to take a train down to my location. Please feel free to email any questions or concerns. Please note that I may end this auction at anytime. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! |

Volvo unveils all-new user interface destined for next-gen XC90 [w/video]
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Take a close look at the cabin of the Volvo Concept Estate shown above. One of the big features on the fancy, brown shooting brake is an all-new user interface called, well, it doesn't really have a name, at least not one Volvo is revealing.
The refreshingly nameless system looks seriously impressive based on the short video that accompany's the system's press release. The jewel of the whole interface is a sizable touchscreen that manages most every in-car function save for a few vital functions like volume, hazard lights and other systems that still demand a more tactile interface.
"The basic idea is to organize controls and information in a perfectly intuitive and user- friendly way. Everything is exactly where you expect it to be, making the drive more enjoyable, efficient, and safe," Thomas Ingenlath, Volvo's Senior Vice President of Design, said in a statement.
Translogic 189: 2015 LA Auto Show
Tue, Nov 24 2015The LA Auto Show has become known for its green cars and concepts, and 2015 was no exception. Translogic host Jonathon Buckley gets all the details on BMW's 330e plug-in hybrid straight from BMW President of North America Ludwig Willisch. Then we get up-to-date on Honda's latest FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell car. We round out our tour with a stop at the Elio Motors booth for a look at their updated, three-wheel P5 concept and a chat with CEO Paul Elio. But first, we jump in a time machine at the Volvo booth to discuss Concept 26, an interpretation of how car interiors might evolve in the era of self-driving cars. "The reason why we talked about it as a time machine [is] because, really, Concept 26 is giving you back something that is so precious," explained Volvo senior director of design Tisha Johnson. "We're letting you delegate driving to the car, so that you can then have that time to yourself." Click here to learn more about our host, Jonathon Buckley.
Volvo won't go after S-Class, 7 Series market
Mon, 22 Apr 2013Volvo vice president of powertrain engineering, Derek Crabb, recently said that the Swedish automaker is developing smaller and smarter powertrain options that will "turn V8s into dinosaurs" - a statement that could have been our first indication that Volvo is no longer looking to create a luxury flagship sedan to take on German land yachts like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series. Now Automotive News seems to be backing this up after speaking with CEO Hakan Samuelsson, who said that a big sedan wouldn't fit the brand's green image and, more importantly, might not even be a car that its customers would even consider.
Rather than trying to compete in a small, established market against rear-drive, 12-cylinder sedans, Volvo is looking at the emerging, higher-volume premium small car segment to take on its German rivals with the all-new Volvo V40 (shown above). Not wanting to abandon the big-vehicle segment altogether, a next-generation XC90 is due out within the next couple years (and was spotted in some recent spy shots), and it will ride on the new Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA), which will be shared with the new S80 according to the AN article.
