Two Volkswagen Type 181 VW Things 1974 (blue one) and a 1973 (white one)
Ill start with the 74 (blue one ) Its a good restorable car I bought to restore for my wife and she ended up with an electric car.
The body in in OK condition ,as you can see it was set up for dune buggy style at one time.It had a roll bar at one time and still has the nerf bars and huge bumpers. The front end does have some repairable damage as seen in the pics .All the doors are great on it,as is the hood less for some small rust spots around the hinge. The floors need replacing or patching.I have driven cars with worse but there is some holes in the floor where the roll bar was,Engine compartment is good and the trans is good and runs through all the gears fine.(Car was running and driving when I bought it). There is some plate that have been riveted to the rear of the car for late model bug taillights but the steel is is fine underneath it with the holes for the thing taillights ,there also is some rust damage in the package tray, and at one time the shocks were bolted to the roll bar so they cut a hole in the tray to clear the shocks.the gauges are non stock as is the gauge panel. The top frame is complete and has been reinforced and as seen in pics the mid bar is included. There is also a BRAND NEW Thing Shop Top still in the box as well as the mounting strip.I have NO windows for either car nor top latches. The tires and wheels are ok look like they can be towed anywhere. They still hold air and have never gone flat. The fenders are some homemade deals but as seen in the pics I have acquired some fenders if you wanted to put it back stock. There are NO seats for this car ..Oh yeah and I washed it off before the pics so that's why theres water on the floor and such. Also the doors open and shut good and solid ,No rust in the body below the doors ,just the holes for the nerf bars.
The white one (1973)
Well this poor guy is parts only ,and not many of them at that ,The floor is GONE,Body has only very small usable panels ,a fender or two is usable.no top frame ,I don't know if the trans is good but I doubt it cause the half shafts are unbolted.the dash panels are good and it has thing wheels .Basically this car just has a few parts to fix the 1974 back to stock.Tires hold air and can be transported by a tow bar .My buddy wanted to build a rat rod out of this car and I recon it could be used as that ,,But again This car is BAD.I.E Not restorable
Spare parts (see pics) As you can see I have one good top frame and some fenders,Im also tossing in some vw stuff that was laying in the car also Im including a single port engine with a stripped bolt hole where it mounts to the trans .This engine was in my vw bug when the bolt hole stripped and I swapped it with the engine that was in the blue thing
AUCTION REQUIREMENTS
There will be a $150.00 Non Refundable deposit required by paypal within 24 hrs of winning the bid.I Know that pictures can be hard to determine actual conditions of cars so if you come to view the cars and decide you don't want them ..well no harm no foul ,but you will not get back the 150 as that will go to my costs in selling them online.I ask that the cars be paid in full (remaining balance less the $150.00 deposit)within 10 days of purchase in CASH only .I will not accept a check of ANYKIND.I can help with reasonable delivery for a fee
SUMMARY
again this auction is for both the 74 and 73 things and the single port engine ,new top ,fenders ,top frame.and parts you see in pictures. The blue one (1974) is restorable but not without some work.the white one is parts only ...and very few of those.I bought the blue one with the plans on restoring it .and believe me it was the best one I could find .NO titles for either car.If I missed anything Shoot me a message and I will answer ASAP.

6 cars that are eligible for import to the U.S. in 2023
Wed, Jan 18 2023For car enthusiasts, the most exciting part of ringing in a new year is watching the list of import-eligible cars grow. Federal regulations make bringing a late-model car from Europe or Asia mind-bogglingly difficult, but these barriers fall as soon as a vehicle turns 25. There's no need to slash through a jungle of red tape; simply ship your dream forbidden fruit over, pay import duties, and in most states you're good to park a fresh import car in your garage. Of course, you need to locate any car you're considering importing, whether it's on this list of cars you can import in 2023 or not. A quick search of the internet will show that there are a lot of places that specialize in sourcing cars to import into the United States, and while we don't have any firsthand experience with any of them, we can point out a few well-known import car dealers, including some at auction. Duncan Imports and Classics bills itself as "America's Largest JDM Dealer" and keeps a large inventory of vehicles that have already been brought into the States. The Import Guys boast options to ship and finance worldwide, Davey Japan claims to have exported over 50,000 vehicles from Japan, and Goonet Exchange says it's operated by "Japan's largest used car information site." Japanese site Be Forward lists a staggering 10,949 online reviews at the time of writing with an average score of around 4.5 out of 5 stars. If your new year's resolution is to buy a car from overseas, here are some of the highlights from 2023's crop of importable cars. Keep in mind that some of these import cars were introduced in 1997 but didn't enter production until 1998, while others made their debut late in the year. And without further ado, here is a list of six cars that are eligible for import to the U.S. in 2023 that are worth noting. Cars that are eligible to import into the U.S. in 2023 Alfa Romeo 166 Developed to replace the 164, the 166 stands out as Alfa Romeo's last true flagship sedan; it wasn't directly replaced. It shares its front-wheel-drive platform with the Lancia Kappa but the two cars look nothing alike. Alfa Romeo gave the big sedan a smooth, relatively elegant design that borrows several styling cues from the smaller 156.
Car Club USA: CleanMPG Northwest Rally
Tue, May 19 2015Car Club USA heads to Los Angeles for the CleanMPG Northwest Rally, where a group of like-minded hypermiling enthusiasts led by Wayne Gerdes attempts to drive from Los Angeles, CA, to Bend, OR, on one tank of fuel. For this challenge, Wayne tapped some of the most accomplished hypermilers in the world, including Guinness World Record holder Bob Winger and Mike Sefton, "the most fuel efficient driver in all of Canada." It doesn't take long for the competition to get heated. "They're not aggressive enough, and it's not going to save them anything by being soft right now," says Gerdes as the group attempts to navigate the Interstate traffic. "Driving in Los Angeles is a hyper miler's nightmare," says Winger. The trip will challenge both car and driver, while putting the latest fuel-efficient tech to the test. Wayne is piloting the Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen TDI, Sefton drives the Audi A3 TDI, and Winger attempts the trek in a Honda Accord Hybrid. It's diesel versus hybrid tech on this fuel-efficient trip of a lifetime. Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. Volkswagen delivers with new Caddy van
Sat, Feb 7 2015As many models as the Volkswagen Group offers in North America, it has even more that never make the journey: models like the Scirocco and Polo but also entire brands like Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. That's the brand that gives us models like the Amarok, the Transporter and this – the new VW Caddy. Now entering its fourth generation after 1.5 million units sold around the world, the Caddy takes some of its underpinnings from the Golf and some from the Touran minivan to make a small work van, similar to the Ford Transit Connect or Nissan NV200, only more, you know... German. The new model obviously benefits from revised sheetmetal to bring its styling more in line with other VW models, but also gets new equipment as well. There are new safety features on board and a revised interior with an upgraded infotainment system. There's an array of engine options including a 2.0-liter diesel four in four states of tune, three gasoline engines (including a 1.0-liter three and 1.2- or 1.4-liter fours) and even a 1.4-liter EcoFuel version running on natural gas. And buyers will be able to choose as well between passenger and panel-van cargo versions. Unfortunately, as with the rest of its commercial vehicles lineup, Volkswagen doesn't offer the Caddy in North America. So if this is the type of vehicle you're looking for, you'll have to make do choosing from models like the Ram ProMaster City, Chevy City Express and the aforementioned Ford and Nissan. The new Caddy – always the best choice – world premiere for the fourth generation of the best-seller - Entry-level price reduced due to new versions - Emissions and fuel consumption reduced by new EU6 engines - Safety increased by new driver assistance systems - Design refined with clear edge Hannover/ Poznan, 04 February 2015: Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is showing the fourth generation of the hugely popular Caddy for the first time. Around 1.5 million of the award-winning previous generation were sold worldwide during its eleven years in production. A success that the new Caddy is intended to continue because the urban delivery van and its privately used brother have been enhanced and refined in every area.
