OVERVIEW: For auction is my 2008 MkV Volkswagen R32 in Candy White. I am the second owner of this vehicle, and have performed all modifications within the last year at professional shops in the Southern NH area. The vehicle has just tipped over 60k miles, and has approximately 32k and/or 4 years left on full warranty, yes WARRANTY, which is fully transferable. While the vehicle has been modified, I have maintained it meticulously with the dealership, and in many communications verified with the modifications done, as long as I was willing to service it at the dealership for my mileage based maintenance, they would recognize all warrantied parts with the exception of the suspension. So the entire drive train and all electronics still have an active, complete warranty. The vehicle was parked nearly all winter except a few trips on nice days to keep it from freezing to death. The car has been completely and entirely polished in every sense of the word for this summer, and has been driven only a handful of times all of this year. This is an absolute SHOW worthy car, which is completely ready to go for this season, as well as very quick. I have owned, and driven many sports/tuner cars over the years, including 240sx’s, STi’s etc… and this is absolutely the most enjoyable car to get in, crank it up, and enjoy the ride comfort, sunroof, and ease of driving with the DSG transmission, shift as fast as an Indy car, or as smooth as your Grandfather’s Cadillac, you choose. Overall it is an easy to own, easy to drive, but with every bit the soul of a real enthusiast’s car. It saddens me to let it go, but I do not have the time to enjoy it anymore, and this car needs to be out where it belongs with someone who can truly appreciate it! Car is for sale locally. DETAILS: · 2008 MkV CW R32 · 60,3000 · 3 sets of wheels o (On Car) Staggered TSW Holsten’s, (F) 18x8 +35 offset 205/40/18 NITTO NeoGen tires with even wear and 9/32’s of tread left. (R) 18x9 +35 offset 215/40/18 NITTO NeoGen tires, only 500 mi. on these, new this spring. o Square set of Corvette Sawblades 17x9.5 all around. Comes with complete set of 20 mm, 420 Draft Designs CNC machined adapters with bolts, and milled hub centric rings, mounted the wheels have a +36 offset. Rear tires need to be replaced, fronts are 215/45/17 Sumitomo’s with even wear, and 6/32’s of tread left. One rim has slight bead leak, may be worth refurbishing them. I ran this set as it is for 8 months and had no issues, just checked the pressure from time to time. o 18x8.5 TSW Donnington Hyper Silver’s with 225/40/18 Falken Ziex 912’s with 8/32’s of tread left, came with the car when I bought them and were nearly new, set has less than 2k on them. · Suspension o Raceland Ultimo coil over’s all around, installed last spring, approximately 15k on them. Still ride great, and don’t leak anywhere. Also have 1 year warranty left. · Engine o Evo MotorSports Short Ram Intake o ECS resonator delete o Magnaflow 3” exhaust tips (fit perfectly) o Flapper Mod o (notes) Flapper Mod, with resonator delete, maintain the factory performance, and exhaust note, just gives it some more volume, but does not drone or scream, unless you want it to. · Body/Chassis o Diesel Geek stainless steel Skid plate, (drive in New England without worrying you’re going to tear your under carriage to pieces) o All four fenders have been pulled, by Kinetic Motorsports. o Wires in wheel wells have been tucked and wrapped to keep them from getting wet or ruined. o Inner fender wells customized to tuck up and fit with stretched fenders. This car is 100% ready to go, and enjoy. It was just completely detailed inside and out, Including carpet wash, leather treatment, and glass polish on the inside. On the outside, It had every nick and chip fixed at Interstate Blend including a complete Wet sand, polish, and wax. This thing gleams!!! This is a must see, and a must drive, to truly appreciate how much fun it is, and how many looks it gets. This is the best sounding, best looking, most fun car I have ever driven. Unsurprisingly, the groups say that this year features more fuel efficient and low-emissions vehicles than previous years, and they span a greater variety of vehicle types. The guide also provides "best-in-class" lists, greenhouse gas ratings and estimated fuel costs for each vehicle. The EPA and DOE hope that car buyers will use the guide to help choose cars that are better for the environment and the climate. Check out the guide for yourself or read more in the press release below. To get from one WEC race to the next, Porsche ships its 919 Hybrid LMP1 cars by air. As the team travels around the world - from continent to continent - it must take 35 tons worth of cargo with it, including two LMP1 cars. That means draining fluids, partially dismantling the cars, and fitting everything into a 747. The team also ships items by sea, which requires shipping extra sets of items due to the longer shipping times. "It's all about efficiency," according to Porsche. Read more in the press release below. Terra Motors is unveiling the A4000i electric scooter, which it will sell in Europe, at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. The A4000i, which features smartphone connectivity, will be the company's European flagship model. Terra Motors will begin selling in Italy, and plans to make arrangements to sell in several more countries shortly after. Terra hopes to set up manufacturing in Europe, as well. VW XL1 priced at $169,000 in UK, only 30 will be sold there
Wed, Jul 2 2014Volkswagen has announced the pricing of its XL1 diesel plug-in hybrid for the UK, according to Car magazine. The small, uber-efficient two-seater will start at GBP98,515, or roughly $168,930 at current exchange rates. Additionally, only 30 units of the XL1 will be sold throughout the UK, giving it a rareness appropriate for its lofty price. It's nice to finally be able to stop speculating about the XL1's price. Even as recently as the first XL1 delivery in Germany, we were still mostly in the dark concerning the cost of the slippery VW. But is the price worth it, especially considering that the much sportier BMW i8 can be had for just a bit more (GBP99,895, or $171,460, in the UK)? Car seems to think so, noting that the XL1 is an eco and technology pioneer, and saying that its cost of ownership is "merely the price of progress." Plus, that includes the bragging rights of owning the world's most fuel-efficient car. The XL1's two-cylinder turbo-diesel engine displaces just eight-tenths of a liter and produces 47 horsepower. The internal combustion engine operates alongside a 26-horsepower electric motor powered by a 5.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Despite its 2.64-gallon fuel tank, the XL1 has a maximum driving range of over 700 miles thanks to a 261-mpg rating (based on the European cycle). Unfortunately, we won't be able to do any bladder-busting, nonstop Chicago to DC road trips any time soon, as VW has no plans to bring the XL1 to North America - not that one would relish the experience of dicing it up with America's massive trucks and SUVs. If you want to drive one, you'll have to go to Europe, and you'd better have a very large piggy bank you're prepared to break open.

Thu, Dec 22 2016NHTSA has launched a preliminary investigation into complaints of Smart Fortwo engine fires. So far, the agency has received eight complaints about the rear engine compartment catching fire in model year 2008 and 2009 Fortwos and quickly engulfing the car. Six of the fires occurred while driving and were preceded by a check engine light. "The safety of our customers is our primary concern, and we are cooperating with NHTSA in its inquiry," says parent company Mercedes-Benz. "We are not aware of any injuries related to this inquiry." Read more from Automotive News. Volkswagen will pay $1.6 billion (US) in Canada as part of a settlement of its diesel emissions scandal. The funds will be used to fix or buy back some 105,000 affected cars, compensate owners between $3,815 and $4,451 above the buyback price, and pay a $11.2 million civil fine. So far, VW has agreed to spend over $18 billion in North America in connection with its diesel emissions cheating, and is expected to settle on a resolution of its 3.0-liter diesel vehicles in the US soon. The award recognizes companies that turn customers into brand advocates through referral programs. In Tesla's current program, customers who buy a car using a referral link get $1,000 off the price of their car, while referring owners are awarded prizes including a signed Powerwall 2 and invitations to unveiling events. Referring owners are also entered into a drawing to win a Model S or Model X. "With a disdain for paid advertising, Tesla Motors is leading the trend of reaching new customers through existing ones," says Extole. The other finalists are Hanna Andersson and Ulta Beauty.
